Stephen Dillane was absolutely BRILLIANT in this series. I loved the way his character developed and deepened as the series progressed. I so look forward to seeing his next project!!
Totally agree. All the acting was very tight. I hope he does more roles of similar quality, instead of the rather limited, but I am sure well-paid GOT.
@@kingrobertbaratheonofhouse6190Well the show Stannis was a joke even from season 2 he was misrepresented, Stephen Dilanes’s portrayal was fantastic though shame the writers couldn’t match his acting.
Stannis of the House Baratheon, First of his name, King of the andals and the first men, Lord of the seven kingdoms and Protector of the Realm.. looks good in a suit.
Just finished this series - it's incredible. Built such a connection with the two leads that I felt so sad when it ended. The acting is out of this world.
First watched him on Goal:The Dream Begins back in the day and have been a big admirer ever since. Also Stannis was among the best played roles of all time
This was a great series. I encourage everyone to give it a go. Well acted by all the actors. Great chemistry. Interesting characters with a wider range of emotions without descending into maudlin. Not your ordinary cop series. Beautiful counterpoint interplay between Dillane and Poesy.
He's great in this. But highly recommend you see him in John Adams. Proud to say I'm Australian but we can share him. Does that mean he might get an OA and a Sir in future? I can't beat his Leonard Woolf though.
I think it has more to do with him not being asked. He's never really given a lot of top billing. D&D prefer the bankable names, like Tyrion, Jon and Dany. Personally it feels like theyre cutting down Stannis out of their own personal interpretation. I get the reasons, but it feels like a real waste of a deep character, and a gret actor.
I vote Stannis as the best king for Westeros. But then King Ragnar Lothbrok shows up and kills everyone, melts down the throne and eats Daenerys's dragons. Better ending imo... ;)
A lie, take it out. I will punish them with any arms at my disposal. They will bend the knee or I'll destroy them. Make it Ser Stannis baratheon. Whatever else, the man's still an actor.
Funny that he was attracted to the role partly because he wanted to play a fairly untroubled cop. The role went in a bit of a different direction over time.
i would hope that it stands on its own merits but i would hope that his the quality of its work will stand in good stead in its own right. haha. too much TOC, time on camera.
Stannis Baratheon does a good job of playing this Stephen Dillane guy
Yeah it's different seeing him as the opposite kinda character. Casual easy going, little bit comedic in scenes with his very serious counterpart.
dpetersz
His grace fails at convincing is that he's playing some other guy
😂
Wait...
The Tunnel is his, by right.
Lol
let no man claim ignorance, as an excuse
All who deny it are his foes
@@mdolinski4926 The whole realm denies it, from Dorne to the wall.

It's like I'm watching Stannis try to impersonate an actor.
You're speaking to the one true king boy you will address him as your grace.
The Mannis has no time to be cheerful and easy going. He is King.
Can I bend my knee for you?
See him in the show you'll be surprised
The True King

It's a shame he didn't enjoy playing the role, he's one of my favourite characters
I would be so intimidated to work with Stephen Dillane. What a hero. #StephenTheMannis
Stannis is the one true king
Besides being the true king, he's hot
very.
It's so weird to see Stannis in a suit
*The Tunnel interview
Everyone: ONE TRUE KING!
i don't think Stannis's role will ever escape him
General Grievous
everyone of game of thrones cast members are suffering this...depite the fact that most of them had great roles before
Rightly so, I doubt its possible to write a better character than Stannis
@@kingrobertbaratheonofhouse6190Well the show Stannis was a joke even from season 2 he was misrepresented, Stephen Dilanes’s portrayal was fantastic though shame the writers couldn’t match his acting.
This is Stannis Baratheon, the man will fight to the bitter end and then some.
Im running out of patience Sir Davos!
He is handsome 😢
Stannis of the House Baratheon, First of his name, King of the andals and the first men, Lord of the seven kingdoms and Protector of the Realm.. looks good in a suit.
I bend the knee, my Lord!
Your grace*
Stannis is awesome!
Rare to see interviews with Mr. Dillane, thanks for sharing this precious gem. ;)
Stannis proving 50 is the new 40 for Men
He’s handsome.
Damn I wish this was playing in the US!! He is an amazing actor. Love him. The Tunnel sounds fantastic. Hope it comes out on Netflix.

Last season sucked
He's the man

He is sooo hot
Just hot?? The one true king is a sexy man!
I am his son thanks
Then I presume it would be very customary for you to kneel
bend the knee or be destroyed
M tottaly straight but he is Really hot fuckn old man

Interestingly enough, in the series, his partner Elise seems to be more Stannis than anyone else.
The Night is Dark and Full of Terrors
The Night is rightfully his
Hoping for season 2 to happen. Stephen and Clémence are wonderful in this show.
ParanoidOwlet Sky have said its happening with Stephen and Clémence

He's Stannis the Mannis with a Plannis
STANNIS DOES NOT STUTTER
Alison Watson He doesn't here.
This guy is the ultimate Sam Vimes - appearance, age, behaviour, badassery... He has it all.
Please, someone make a film for AM City Watch!
Yes please, what a wonderful idea !!
The ONE TRUE KING!
If Stephen shaved his head he'd look and sound like Jason Statham.
he is a brilliant actor...he is in a class only few can enter...respect.....
Stannis is the Mannis!!! Stannis is the Rightful King!!! The best!!! I hope he will win GoT in the books!
god save king Stannis Baratheon
British television is where intelligent Americans (have to) go for quality productions like this one. Thank you, PBS for bringing it to us.
I would actually bend the knee because this good sir is really charming, I might say.
What’s happening? My knees! They are bending automatically!!!

The Tunnel is Stannis', by right
Your grace
The one true king 👑
EVERYBODY OUT OF THE CHUNNEL!
The. One. True. King.
I have this idea of him disliking interviews about GoT. I don't know why. Could I be wrong?
Probably!

Not That Guy The Other The fact that you don't see him between the popular actors and in GoT interviews makes him even more Stannis.
Not That Guy The Other I think he might be the BAFTA winner in the entire GOT cast. He is a brilliant actor!
Knee bending intensifies
As always!
The Tunnel is his by birth right.
Smells like crispy strips
I vote Stannis as the best king for Westeros. But then King Ragnar Lothbrok shows up and kills everyone, melts down the throne and eats Daenerys's dragons. Better ending imo... ;)
Levi Clays rofl not a chance.
Levi Clays yea right, Mannis would burn Ragnar down to a crisp in one of his signature pyres.
I don't even like Stannis that much, but the mannis would eat Ragnar and all his friends for breakfast, he'd destroy them
moobunny587 Traitor! I want ALL THEIR HEADS!
Amazing idea !! ↑
I bend the knee.
OMG It's in-between-steroid-cycles Jason Statham!
Bend my knee and destroy me
I watched two seasons and didnt realize he was Stannis lol. I must be going senile
He is my King
Could be an interesting show.
The Finn Fuck the Show, Hail the KING!

Him and Douglass Murray too
Stannis is having fun!? What on earth is going on here...
The one true king
Wow Stanus to me is the most powerful general
Umm.... DILLANEGASMS! Yummy ;)

They butchered his character for more feminist leaders...

He is a bit more angry and cranky in real life isn't he.
FlickerFlame he is serious man suits for him I think
The lannisters send there regards from Ramsey snow
For R'hllor's sake, man, you need a copy editor!
You mean Roose Bolton?
100% would bend the knee again.
Fewer.
STNNIS THE MANNIS
Witty Stannis Baratheon comment.
god imagine how much he hates our stannis bullshit.
i would hope that it stands on its own merits but i would hope that his the quality of its work will stand in good stead in its own right. haha. too much TOC, time on camera.
love this man, love brad pitt, but they do sort of ramble when the red light is on.
I used to be and adventurer like you, then I took a bending in the knee
Stannis joined actory after losing the interest in the iron chair.
