It is my all time favorite album. I also love listening to demos, EPs, and singles from the more rare NWOBHM bands. Angel Witch's last two geriatric albums have been excellent as well.

Great to hear Ryan and Nick mention The Lord Weird Slough Feg/Slough Feg. Easily one of the best metal bands to come out in the last 25 years. A fantastic catalog of 10 albums. I highly recommend checking them out to anyone who hasn't.
Props to Lynne for picking On Through the Night…that album is heavy metal through and through. Iron Maiden, Holy Diver and Kill em All are all perfect albums. No one mentioned the debut album from Holy Grail, “Crisis in Utopia”. What an insanely talented metal band, and the crazy part is, all their albums are close to perfect, zero filler!

Thanks to Nick & this show I discovered Sanhedrin's A Funeral For The World. What an amazing album...pure class: memorable and melodic songs, exciting riffs and intelligent lyrics. Also bought the follow-up The Poisoner which is great too.
Great to see Nick give Ocean Machine some love. A fantastic album by a criminally overlooked genius. The live performance of the entire album in Plovdiv is spectacular 🤘🏻

Thanks for waiting to do the Honorable Mentions! I hate seeing the look on the faces of those who haven't had their turn yet hearing someone out their selection in an honorable mention.
I'm amazed no one mentioned Entombed - Left Hand Path (Swedish death metal gets the short end of the stick on this show) Edge of Sanity - Nothing But Death Remains (Swedish death metal gets the short end of the stick on this show) At the Gates - The Red in the Sky is Ours (Swedish death metal gets the short end of the stick on this show) Venom - Welcome to Hell Sepultura - Morbid Visions Napalm Death - Scum Pitchshifter - Industrial
Those are all great albums, i had the ATG album on yesterday and imo it’s their finest hour, but there’s simply too many to pick from. I’m much more of a metal guy than a hard rock guy so next week’s picks will be easier for me 😅
JAG PANZER - Ample Destruction HEIR APPARENT - Graceful Inheritance HALLOWS EVE - Tales of Terror FORBIDDEN - Forbidden Evil MANOWAR - Battlle Hymns (stunning this wasn’t mentioned)
Yeah I think last thing he did was the Gravedigger ranking with BryceTalksMetal two or three weeks ago. He’s not been on Monsters Den or Hudson Valley Squares and I have missed him too. Everything ok with him Pete?
Some of these were mentioned: Qoeensryche - EP, Metal Church - Metal Church, Grim Reaper -See You in Hell, Savage - Sirens, Leatherwolf - Endangered Species, Omen - Battle Cry, Badlands - Badlands, Bonham - The Disregard For Timekeeping, Fifth Angel - Fifth Angel, Holy Soldier - Holy Soldier

No order really Van Halen Debut Exodus Bonded Exciter HM Maniac Def Leppard On Through the Night Metallica Kill em All great watching you guys Monday nites All The Damn Time!! Aloha!! Be safe!!
Thank you! I found new band Vultures Vengeance from this video. Its always great to find something new to listen. Theres so much great music that I dont know yet and great that somebody tells those bands. Keep up good work!!
Nick, Jason Newsted did a song on the first Sepultura album with Derrick. He plays the guitar and sings, I believe. Steve, check out the last two Sepultura records. There's plenty to love on those!
Michael Grant was the singer in Crescent Shield and i'm familiar with him in the band Onward which were a little more well known back in the early 2000's. They were on Century Media Records. My best friend is a big fan of all Michael Grant's bands. He also was in contact with Onward guitarist Toby Knapp and got a bunch of his music from him. Lots of projects but very good projects. I got a few of his stuff too.
Metal Church- s/t WASP- s/t Angel Witch- Angel Witch Warlock- Burning the Witches Venom- Welcome to Hell Exciter- Heavy Metal Maniac Exodus- Bonded by Blood Testament- The Legacy Twisted Sister- Under the Blade Motley Crue- Too Fast for Love
The Squares make me snort a drink through my nose yet again. Lynne wins tonight for using my favorite quote from Joe Pesci in Lethal Weapon about why not to use the drive-through. Can't ever use a drive-through without hearing that voice in my head. But now Lynne make take that vocal spot. And props to Sidney for channeling Butch in the G.D. department. Can't really think of a choice that wasn't named on the show or by other commenters but looking forward to next weeks hard rock debut album show. Thanks everyone for taking the time to do this show and entertain all of us.
I liked that Ryan went for more obscure choices, and a StarGazer shirt! I'm gonna go with some that I don't think were mentioned: Mortuary Drape - All the Witches Dance Trouble - s/t (Pslam 9) Omen - Battle Cry Deicide - s/t Suffocation - Effigy of the Forgotten
Great show as always. Death Angel "The Ultra Violence"; Iron Maiden "Iron Maiden"; Queen "Queen"; Led Zeppelin "Led Zeppelin"; Black Sabbath "Black Sabbath"
I like the rules Ryan put for himselfs when picking the albums, so I'm going to do the same. So many great debut albums from Nordic doom bands, but here my five favorites: Candlemass - Epicus doomicus metallicus Abstrakt algebra - abstrakt algebra Thergothon - Stream from the Heavens Theatre of tragedy - Theatre of tragedy Reverend Bizarre - In the rectory of the bizarre reverend Just missed the top five: Krux - Krux Saturnus - Paradise belong to you Skepticism - Stormcrowfleet Shape of despair - Shades of...
Rules I made and immediately ignored! That Thergothon album is one of the greatest doom albums ever for my money. Punishingly heavy, pitch black and morose like few others. I was lucky to find that on vinyl a few months ago in mint condition for under $20 at a local record fair.
@@Conan_WhatIsBestInLife Well, rules are meant to be broken, right :)? Wow. That's a good catch! Couldn't agree more with you. That is an amazing album and one of those cases where the low budget production really benefits the music.
My list of five, not to repeat the same ones as chosen in the video: Evile - Enter the Grave Triptykon - Eparistera Daimones In Flames - Lunar Strain Dismember - Like an Everflowing Stream Firespawn - Shadow Realms edit: I initially had Down's "NOLA" debut in the five here, but upon review I chose "Eparistera Daimones" by Triptykon over it.
I know I'm four months late but here are my favorite metal album debuts: 1. Metallica ----- "Kill'em all" 2. Forbidden ------- "Forbidden Evil" 3. Venom ------- "Welcome to Hell" 4. Morbid Angel -------- " Altars of Madness" 5. King Diamond -------- "Fatal Portrait" Honorable mentions: Iron Maiden ------ "Iron Maiden" Slayer ------ "Show No Mercy" Black Sabbath -------- "Black Sabbath" Anthrax --------- "Fistfull of Metal" Pentagram ------- "Pentagram" Deicide ------ "Deicide" Overkill ------ "Feel the Fire"
Pete: You really need to have a "Ladies Only" video chat. Lynne, Sidney, the Prog Girl . . . I think this idea would go over very well among your audience. Thanks.
No particular order, but what I'm feeling now: Dark Angel - Darkness Descends Megadeth - Killing is my Business...And Business is Good (original mix, non remastered) Black Sabbath Scream Bloody Gore - Death The Legacy - Testament Honorable Mentions: Baphomet - Baphomet (one of my favorite death metal albums of all time) Cinderella - Night Songs Ratt - Out of the Cellar
A couple worth mentioning: GammaRay - Heading for tomorrow Freedom Call - Stairway to fairyland Rhapsody (later Rhapsody of fire) - Legendary tales Tygers of Pan Tang - Wild cat HammerFall - Glory to the brave And Sabaton - Primo Victoria (offically their debut)
Obsequiae are so good, beautiful black metal and yeah medieval in the classic sense. Death Scream Bloody Gore was pretty much changed my metal direction back in 1987. Ryan I’ll admit I don’t know Hammers of Misfortune I’m gonna order that reissue. Altars of Madness flawless. Ocean Machine incredible. Butch, Icon I agree such an underrated band. Another great episode everyone.

The Sword - Age of Winters
Electric Wizard - Come My Fanatics
Soundgarden - Ultramega OK
That ICON debut is immense, melodic but still really heavy. 'World War'...'Under My Gun'...'Killer Machine'...the dog's bollocks
I'm amazed no one mentioned
Entombed - Left Hand Path (Swedish death metal gets the short end of the stick on this show)
Edge of Sanity - Nothing But Death Remains (Swedish death metal gets the short end of the stick on this show)
At the Gates - The Red in the Sky is Ours (Swedish death metal gets the short end of the stick on this show)
Venom - Welcome to Hell
Sepultura - Morbid Visions
Napalm Death - Scum
Pitchshifter - Industrial
Sepultura is mentioned by Ryan in the end as a Honorable Mention
Those are all great albums, i had the ATG album on yesterday and imo it’s their finest hour, but there’s simply too many to pick from. I’m much more of a metal guy than a hard rock guy so next week’s picks will be easier for me 😅
5. Black Sabbath/Iron Maiden
4. Killing Is My Business...And Business Is Good
3. Show No Mercy
2. Holy Diver
1. Kill 'Em All
Butch I checked out the Icon album and I like it. Thanks
JAG PANZER - Ample Destruction
HEIR APPARENT - Graceful Inheritance
HALLOWS EVE - Tales of Terror
FORBIDDEN - Forbidden Evil
MANOWAR - Battlle Hymns (stunning this wasn’t mentioned)
Jag Panzer! That album RULES!
What happened to Rich Catino ? Not seen him in a long time
Yeah I think last thing he did was the Gravedigger ranking with BryceTalksMetal two or three weeks ago. He’s not been on Monsters Den or Hudson Valley Squares and I have missed him too. Everything ok with him Pete?
He’s taking the rest of the summer off from TH-cam stuff
He's been there for the last few weeks.
Thank you for your picks.
My picks, are picked by you all.
All the damn time.

Great show this Pete and team 👍
Always fun to watch you guys butch and lynn should have there own comedy show haha .cheers.
R.I.P. Michael Grant, one of the best, most unique singers ever imo
Metal Church- s/t

Warlock- Burning the Witches
Venom- Welcome to Hell
Exciter- Heavy Metal Maniac
Exodus- Bonded by Blood
Testament- The Legacy
Twisted Sister- Under the Blade
Motley Crue- Too Fast for Love
The Squares make me snort a drink through my nose yet again. Lynne wins tonight for using my favorite quote from Joe Pesci in Lethal Weapon about why not to use the drive-through. Can't ever use a drive-through without hearing that voice in my head. But now Lynne make take that vocal spot. And props to Sidney for channeling Butch in the G.D. department. Can't really think of a choice that wasn't named on the show or by other commenters but looking forward to next weeks hard rock debut album show. Thanks everyone for taking the time to do this show and entertain all of us.
Ratt - Out of the Cellar
Testament - The Legacy
Skid Row - Skid Row
Savatage - Sirens
Gamma Ray - Heading for Tomorrow
I liked that Ryan went for more obscure choices, and a StarGazer shirt!
I'm gonna go with some that I don't think were mentioned:
Mortuary Drape - All the Witches Dance
Trouble - s/t (Pslam 9)
Omen - Battle Cry
Deicide - s/t
Suffocation - Effigy of the Forgotten
Sortilège -Sortilège (1983)
Does the first Danzig album count. That’s a great album
Nah, that's punk rock
@@MetalGuy2004 its not. But each his own.
Helloween - Walls of Jericho
Metal Church - Metal Church
Metallica - Kill 'em all
Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
Dio - Holy Diver
Great show as always. Death Angel "The Ultra Violence"; Iron Maiden "Iron Maiden"; Queen "Queen"; Led Zeppelin "Led Zeppelin"; Black Sabbath "Black Sabbath"
Awesome you bring up Death Angel! 🤘
I like the rules Ryan put for himselfs when picking the albums, so I'm going to do the same. So many great debut albums from Nordic doom bands, but here my five favorites:
Candlemass - Epicus doomicus metallicus
Abstrakt algebra - abstrakt algebra
Thergothon - Stream from the Heavens
Theatre of tragedy - Theatre of tragedy
Reverend Bizarre - In the rectory of the bizarre reverend
Just missed the top five:
Krux - Krux
Saturnus - Paradise belong to you
Skepticism - Stormcrowfleet
Shape of despair - Shades of...
Nordic Doom.... Monolord has A Big Following Here in New York USA...
@@spaghetti.lee-69 cool! Did not know that. When you say it, their doom sound quite american compared to a lot of the other Nordic doom bands.
My list of five, not to repeat the same ones as chosen in the video:
Evile - Enter the Grave
Triptykon - Eparistera Daimones
In Flames - Lunar Strain
Dismember - Like an Everflowing Stream
Firespawn - Shadow Realms
edit:
I initially had Down's "NOLA" debut in the five here, but upon review I chose "Eparistera Daimones" by Triptykon over it.
I know I'm four months late but here are my favorite metal album debuts:
1. Metallica ----- "Kill'em all"
2. Forbidden ------- "Forbidden Evil"
3. Venom ------- "Welcome to Hell"
4. Morbid Angel -------- " Altars of Madness"
5. King Diamond -------- "Fatal Portrait"
Honorable mentions:
Iron Maiden ------ "Iron Maiden"
Slayer ------ "Show No Mercy"
Black Sabbath -------- "Black Sabbath"
Anthrax --------- "Fistfull of Metal"
Pentagram ------- "Pentagram"
Deicide ------ "Deicide"
Overkill ------ "Feel the Fire"
05) Dream Theater~Images and Words
04) MSG~MSG
03) Dio~Holy Diver
02) Yngwie Malmsteen~Rising Force
01) Ozzy Osbourne~Blizzard of Ozz
That isnt dream theaters debut
@@gaupau It's their 2nd. When Dream and Day Unite is the 1st.
It's the first with LaBrie. I don't llike the first singers voice
From this distance Sydney’s Funko Garth could be a Funko Steve Kieler Figure!
Pete: You really need to have a "Ladies Only" video chat. Lynne, Sidney, the Prog Girl . . . I think this idea would go over very well among your audience. Thanks.
"Ladies Only" video would be an excellent idea...but Pete should have a hair bow.
No particular order, but what I'm feeling now:
Dark Angel - Darkness Descends
Megadeth - Killing is my Business...And Business is Good (original mix, non remastered)
Black Sabbath
Scream Bloody Gore - Death
The Legacy - Testament
Honorable Mentions:
Baphomet - Baphomet (one of my favorite death metal albums of all time)
Cinderella - Night Songs
Ratt - Out of the Cellar
A couple worth mentioning:
GammaRay - Heading for tomorrow
Freedom Call - Stairway to fairyland
Rhapsody (later Rhapsody of fire) - Legendary tales
Tygers of Pan Tang - Wild cat
HammerFall - Glory to the brave
And Sabaton - Primo Victoria (offically their debut)
Wild cat! Cool.
Nick Pharoah- "After The Fire " cd arrived today thanks for recommendation.
VIO-LENCE - Eternal Nightmare
Flotsam & Jetsam - Doomsday For The Deceiver
Forbidden - Forbidden Evil
Sanctuary - Refuge Denied
Malevolent Creation - The Ten Commandments
Iron Maiden, Van Halen, Dio - Holy Diver, Black Sabbath, Alice In Chains - Facelift
Black Sabbath debut, Iron Maiden debut, Dio- Holy Diver, Ozzy- Blizzard of Oz, Van Halen I
Obsequiae are so good, beautiful black metal and yeah medieval in the classic sense.
