While travelling like this when you have plenty of time to explore I would recommend never booking hotels online unless you have to. Just walk in, check the room at first and then ask about the price (sometimes the online price is still cheaper and then use it). If they don’t let you to see the room beforehand or the price doesn’t relate to the room quality just move on to the next one.

OMG! Look at the mouthwatering steamed rice rolls served with fresh herbs and sweet sour spicy sauce! It was freshly made and just $1.40, not to mention $1 grilled pork chop broken rice meals. We are actually talking about $1 meals here.

When you asked the Bánh Cuốn guy where he’s from he said Tỉnh Lẻ which means a small province, not Hà Nội or Tien Le like you made it out to be. And the province is called Nam Định. That’s the bit you struggle to understand 😅
