The amount of captcha tests I've failed makes me consider that in the future, captchas will be so difficult for humans that only bots can solve them.
That is true. So everybody who fails is human and everybody who will get the answer right is bot. They will secretly revert the process haha :D

If you tick the box with a wacom or something like that that has absolute positional input, or if you use caret browsing, it'll often fail you and require you to solve a shed load of picture captchas.
Just doing it quickly achieves that. You have to move your mouse at granny pace to make sure it doesn't bring up the dreaded pics.

@@Reziac Google actually owns a patent for a method of locking out bots through the use of unsolvable Captcha tests. If you find that you're being sent through a loop it's probably classified you as a bot. Try hard-refreshing the page (usually ctrl+F5) and trying again, usually works for me.
I never do in Chrome/Chromium. I don't know if it has anything to do with being associated with a GMail/YT account. Doesn't seem to in other browsers.

What counts as part of the sign (or traffic light) is quite ambiguous really, even in our daily lives. Humans are just not that certain.

@Several Fighters, Actually that is a very real thing with (sometimes) real applications. Also a great way to mess with people is to have a bunch of bots "interact" with each other as if it were an active chatroom.

I uh, found this one, called "H Captcha" and I'm not gonna lie, despite having 20/20 vision and being able to see all the lines just fine, I still failed that one.. several times, to be honest. I understand the necessity to stay safe from bots and whatnot, but.. when we can't even pass our own safety/security measures, perhaps there's a problem
Hcaptcha has a service now called privacy pass, do it once and you get 30 captcha "credits" to your browser. Good way to do less captchas if you have 5 minutes to spend installing the extension and solving a few

watching the basics series it becomes clear that the only real captcha is asking what 0.2 + 0.1 is.
Given how many times reCAPTCHA v2 thought people were robots, I think nobody is allowed online any more.
Conspiracy time: Google can choose websites where this secondary check appears more often to reduce (and i mean up to 10 image checks)

That's frustrating. Maybe they do it if they're extra suspicious of you. Slow enough to be bearable for humans, but would slow down bots significanly.

I’ve had those captchas so many times before and it never stops being frustrating. I used to have to regularly access a site with one on a device with limited controls and it made it ten times more annoying when you are slowly moving the cursor from image to image and having to wait for each one to disappear.
And then you complete it and it gives you another one. I’ve had 10+ in a row before...
aLso when you fail and somehow you have to do like 5 in a row.
I actually worked as a Captha solver for a while about 10 years ago (for a charity, long story). It was too easy to go around the system then, so I'm quite glad they made a (slightly) better one

After you used the text ReCaptcha a lot, it became easy enough to tell which word you'd need to write correctly, based on the way the words were "twisted". For the other word, you could type literally whatever, so on imageboards where you had to type a captcha every time you wanted to post, it became a common past time to just write obscenities for the other word, in hopes of it making into the scanning system.
I'm assuming they would feed the same word to dozens, maybe even hundreds of users to make sure they could get a consensus. Not even to deal with trolls, just to make sure there weren't any mistakes.

I've seen a whole lot of videos on this lately, but so far yours is the best.
Gonna be honest.
I think I'm a robot, cause sometimes I struggle too much with those picture ones.
I don't know if Captchas display in languages other than English or if they always display in English, but I have already gotten a few wrong despite being a native English speaker because they have asked for things that are common to Americans but not common to Brits. For example I got one asking me to identify 'crosswalks', I deducted that a crosswalk must be a 'zebra crossing' (white and black stripes on the road), I clicked all the ones I saw but somehow still failed.
Also the one Tom mentioned in the video about fire hydrants, you would need to have a rudimentary knowledge of the US to get that one since fire hydrants in Europe are hidden from view - they are all beneath the pavement (sidewalk) with just a small 'H' printed nearby on a wall or short sign that only firefighters are trained to look out for. If a kid got that Captcha they would be clueless as to what a hydrant was.

They actually could do that as long as they use software (i.e. [faciaIrecognition]) and the data is not stored on Google's servers or accessed by any actual people. If it's part of the 'machine learning CAPTCHA data system' they could probably defend it as legitimate.
