Being a single mother is challenging, I was raised by a single mother who had me at 18 years old and my brother at 21, she didn’t get to live. Watching my mom struggle emotionally, financially I wanted to change my narrative. I LIVED 🎉 throughout my 20’s 🫣🫣😂😂Now, My brother and I are both married, home owners and make our mom proud even though she is no longer with us.
Idk if he was whispering affirmations,a prayer or something for adults only but I was here for it!! And the fact that he didn’t realize the camera was rolling was even more personal 🙌🏽🙌🏽 Ok let me finish watching the video 😊
The common thread of this blog was TRUTH AND REALITY. In real life our weeks aren’t full of aesthetics , cute outfits and good vibes. We are moody, flawed, and a lot of times just trying to pay these bills or take care of our homes. Maya, i applaud your vulnerability. Truth is, when you’re a single mom you want a man to complete that picture if you don’t have one. Truth is,a lot of single moms have made that priority especially if you were younger when you had your child. Period. No explanations needed. We all could have done better but it is what it is. Your missteps prepared you to help another young woman so it works out for your good. Keep going mama. ❤️
What you prioritized is stability and having a family unit not just for you but for Amira as well. Being a single mom is challenging and even more so at a young age but at the end of the day that desire to be a wife and build a family was so that both of you could have that experience. You did it! And its such a blessing to all of you!
Only people who haven’t been following you for awhile would even be confused. I totally understood you. I was a single mother from 19-30 and Sis, the struggle associated with single motherhood sucks and it affects you! Marriage is a holy bond and it just feels good to be operating in order ❤
I'm literally crying tears of joy right now watching this. When GOD makes a promise, HE always delivers. Watching you both pray/read the Bible together is absolutely everything. The definition of a GOD-centered marriage.
Maya, I empathize WHOLEHEARTEDLY with you about the “single mother & prioritizing subject!” No one is perfect, we just do the best we can! We see the relationship between you and your daughter and it’s SIMPLY AMAZING. Stay blessed sis! 💞
That part. When you and Jeff were sitting at the bar and he whispers in your ear. That's how a man is supposed to make a woman, his wife feel. Giddy, giggly and feminine. You looked so pretty and happy.
Hi Maya!!! What a sweet and tender moment between you and Jeff on your “date”-I felt some tears unexpectedly 😢. I’m so glad to see and hear how you continue to prioritize God, your self care, family, work. Sending prayers and encouragement to all 🙏🏾
Hey Maya!!! I truly understand what you’re saying. I was a single mom before the. I got married and it definitely is a difference when you have that extra help. You are able to focus on things a little better because you are not as overwhelmed with handling things alone. Sis I 💯 feel you!!!!!❤❤❤ Keep pushing and thank you for always being transparent with us in your journey
Thanks for being so honest and transparent about your journey with motherhood. I had my baby at 19yrs old and I often like nobody understood my struggles of being young and a semi-single parent. I’m grateful for your channel, thanks for all you do❤️
Happy Sunday Maya and everyone. Sending out positive vibes/energy and praying that everyone reading this will have peace that transcends all understanding as you go through your week. 🙏🏾💙
Maya you’re such a great wife and mother! I’m a few years older than you but you are teaching me on how to be a great wife. I can relate when you was explaining how your single mother journey could help other single mothers. And your vlogs are NEVER boring chile ❤❤❤ I look forward to your uploads, they are satisfying 😊
I totally understand what you are saying about motherhood. I had my daughter at 31. I knew that during my twenties I was trying to hang out with my friends and have fun (which I did). Now I'm able to commit to my role as a mom. I prefer spending the evening in with her than going out. I put my time and focus on making sure she tries out various extracurricular activities to find what she enjoys. And at this she (just turned 41) I have the time and money to invest in her that I may not have had earlier when I was still trying to find "me". If that makes sense, lol.
Yes. It’s better to do it later. Partying is out of your system, emotionally mature and have enough money to enjoy your time with them and nurture them properly.
It makes total sense what you’re describing. Amirah turned out really well tbh though and she’s also still very young!!! She still has many more years of you parenting her. Now she has four active parents and siblings!
Aweee the feels 💕💕💕 felt so happy for you when you guys were on the date. Glad you got to spend time with your sister and hubby 👍🏾 sorry you haven’t been feeling to good… 🙏🏾 prayers for better days
Hey, Maya! I get it. You wanted the "family unit" and now you have it. I felt the same way with my son when I got married. You will ALWAYS feel like you could've done better. That's okay. Wait 'til y'all have your 1st baby. You're gonna feel like you did it "the right way"! Be encouraged!🙏
My Nana, my mom, and I had our children young, all three of us were 19. The difference is that I chose to live my life before my daughter leaves the nest and reach my goals. It’s hard and crying is all of the time but I’m thankful I get to strive to be the person my daughter looks up to and encourage to be better. As I get older I can see the settle bitterness from my mom and Nana whenever I go out of town with my fiancé or take a break from my roles to just be Bre. In order for my household to function, we learned that we all need a break and indulge in what we like to do.
I completely get where you're coming from in regards to that single motherhood and just having a child at a younger age. I had my daughter when I was 23 years old and recently Ive thought about how I wish I had another chance to raise her up again because there's so much that I was lacking at 23.. I couldn't feed into her what I wish I had and now I'm trying to do it at 14 years old because I'm of an age and of a mindset to know better. I feel u girl
Hey!!! You don’t need to explain or present any disclaimers about your stance on motherhood. I get it!!! My son walked down the aisle in utero for my 1st college degree and marriage. His father and I later divorced so I was ultimately a single mother. I was 19 as well. I don’t think I enjoyed motherhood as much as I could have. I didn’t have an opportunity to have another child. But you do!!!😊 Also, isn’t this is what God intended a man and a woman; married raising a family? The best blessings to you Maya!!
I totally get the motherhood explanation, being a single mom myself. I do feel like we have to prioritize other things over our children to make them comfortable. But as a wife now, you can focus more on her, and I totally get that. It’s hard when your doing everything on your own but once you get some consistent support, you can focus on different things and prioritize better.
Everything you said about motherhood I resonate with! And this is why I have really related to your channel years ago because you are very transparent and I can’t wait to be married and have a balance I had my son at 22 and I have been a single mother by myself solely everything and it is sooooo hard but it is getting better and I still have hope that I will be married and motherhood will be easier.
Being a single mom is hard. I see it with my friends and I do not know how they handle it. I got what you meant. I think everybody that has been following for a while did. We can be honest about our experiences without pple picking apart our words and bashing us. We should any way
Get twin beds Maya that way when the boys are gone and y’all have more company the twin beds can be pushed together or your company can just sleep in individual beds!! ❤️
I always Enjoy your videos, details are on Point as usual. Your daughter is so grown up, she seems very sweet. Have a Blessed life Ya'll. C you guys next time 👋🏼🥰
I am really really late to the party. Life! I am at the portion of the video where you are talking about Motherhood. It totally makes sense! The first time you said it made sense to me too!! 😂 I am on the older end of your audience. I DEFINITELY wish I had a “do over” with my kids! We know better, we do better. Have a good one Luvie
My best friend too, but she was a younger. There's a difference between raising a child as a young woman and an older woman. I see the strides she's made with all 3 but the other 2 she was in a very different mindset.

Bone fish- wait! Why am I blushing soooo hard. Lol… awwww!!!!!
Maybe instead of bunk beds, do 2 twin xl beds. That way it’s still a guest bedroom slash boys room too.
I appreciate this vlog, just seeing you in your natural element in everyday life.
