I've got a custom 75x50x130cm Vivarium all ready, with a thriving group of fruit beetles (fun snacks, though likely too big and hard) and a colony of vampire crabs living at the bottom. I am fully expecting the Keeley to snack on the crabs when they can find them, but since the crabs breed readerly and in general are nocturnal, it should be interesting to see how it works. I got the idea to add them since the Keel bellies apparently often live round coastal areas. The water area at the bottom should help keep up humidity on top of the misting system.
Love them. You keep them in a 1,1 group? Would one alone still do well? I was looking into Emerald Tree Skinks first, but then I saw that they apparently don't do well long term, if they aren't in a group.
So yes green Keeleds do perfectly fine in a group or alone! They don’t need to be in groups! I’ve owned Emerald tree skinks in groups but I just purchased a single one. She’s currently sick but she has been house alone her whole life. To my understanding and I could be wrong with this but they do not require a small colony to thrive. They can be communal yes but to large of a community without enough space can cause issues.
Great video !!!
Thank you and thank you for watching it!
I finally got one a few months ago and I love her so much. So fun to watch and interact with.
That’s awesome to hear and They are incredible! I love them! Thanks for checking out the video!
