    Darren I know this is a furnace video but wanted to thank you for your video on schwintek slide maintenance. Like everyone I was told not to lubricate the slides. I have a 2021 RV with 3 schwintek slides and 2 hydraulic. Last week we were out for quick 4 day trip to a new RV park and we had 1 schwintek slide one side would only go out about 6 inch and stop. I messed with it for about 30 minutes and finally was able to push it out while my wife ran the power button. When we left for home the slide went in okay. Called the dealer and they told me I had a motor going out. That didn't make sense to me since the motor sounded like it was amping out plus it work when we closed the slide. Watched your video got the lubricant you recommended hit the spots you said and every thing is working just like new. Thanks again from a retired veteran!!!

    No condemnation from me, Darren!! Channel locks and crescent wrenches solve a multitude of problems even if not exactly the right tool! Nicely done!

    Using power tools on small sheet metal screws is a great way to strip them all out. Small screws should always be tightened by hand.

    Your current will actually go down when you increase the external static pressure on a centrifugal blower. Try it. Now an axial fan like on your a/c or heat pump outdoor unit will increase current if you cover outlet. Pro hvac here.

      @Rattletrap2 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ha ha ha........I was actually coming here to say the same thing! Right now, with everything open, the fan is moving the maximum amount of air. Doing the most work. Amperage is higher. Once you put some resistance on either the inlet or outlet, or both, the fan will move less air. Do less work. Amperage will decrease. Your statement about the propeller fan is also correct. It's amperage will increase when you restrict or block the airflow on the discharge side. Darren, I am not trying to take away from your excellent video and service, but this is how we all learn. The only other thing i would recommend is to soap that nut that you used the crow foot wrench on to be sure it is not leaking. Thank you Sir!

    I would do the ohm test on the gas valve solenoids because that would give you an indication that they are in the proper range

    Great video, lots of details. Found it because I'm trying to diagnose an issue with a Suburban SF42Q. 2016 Itasca Solei.
    Problem. When the thermostat calls for heat, the furnace lights and fan blows, but it doesn't seem to get very hot, and eventually it stops burning and shuts down. I can put my hand on the top of the of the box and it's warm but not too hot to touch. We had it inspected before we bought it and it was marked as working.
    If there is a better place to post my query, please let me know. If you weren't all the way across the country I'd hire you to do an annual service on it. I've only owned for six months and don't know what maintenance was done.

    I’m new to your very informative channel, you have some great videos! I have been looking for a slide out gearbox removal video but haven’t found it. I have a 2002 sunnybrook that has a few of the teeth on a “sheargear” snapped off and can’t find any info on how to remove the gearbox or gear itself. Any recommendations on where to get the info?

    I know you like the Knipex Cobra pliers, which surprises my why you don't use their Knipex Pliers Wrench. They have the same locking adjustment but have an added pivot for parallel jaws movement and smooth jaws, they're way better than channel locks or adjustable wrench for nuts/flanges. I use these daily at my work here in Seattle.

    Great indepth video. Everything checked out ok with mine, but i still have a very slight scent of propane out of the air intake pipe when the unit isnt running. No leaks anywhere on the outside of the unit anywhere. What should i check or adjust to hopefully stop the smell? Thanks buddy

    Hello Darren,
    Looking to have a test set up for the propane like you have in this video but not sure on what parts to order. I ordered one of the regulators you had on your Amazon store and it does not seem to flow any propane to the furnace on the bench. Then I bring the furnace back in the RV and it works on that supply line. Could you let me know what items you used for your propane set up? Thank you.

      Test cylinder, Pigtail to regulator, two stage regulator set 11" W.C., Hose from regulator to furnace input.
      I also use my LP Tap Jigs for testing LP flow and pressure in RV LP lines. More info here: myrvworksstore.square.site/product/qd-tap-jig/596?cp=true&sa=false&sbp=false&q=false&category_id=3

    I give up. I went to all the trouble to pull the furnas core out of the sleeve in the Rv & guess what?
    No delay relay!!! Nope, not there. There is a relay soldered onto the control board, so, to replace
    that relay I have to buy a $94 control board. Well, Suburban has a brand new complete 30-SF CORE
    for $398.00. I ordered it & it will be her in a few days. I will have to transfer the gas line.
    !

    After servicing my furnace and replacing circuit board with new Dinosaur board it turns on blower for maybe 15 seconds and just turns off. Do you think this may be caused from plugged orifices and not recognizing any fuel? No clicking or fuel smell at all. So stumped and frustrated. I plan on pulling it back out and fully cleaning as you just showed in this video, but if you have any suggestions that would be so great. Thank you.

      Well, you're obviously not going to get an ignition, but yes you can test everything up to the point of ignition.

    Wago connectors good for both 120vac and 12vdc?

    • @luminousveiws
      @luminousveiws ปีที่แล้ว

      Built for 120v means 12v is easy. Do watch the wire size. Low voltage means not much power on the same wire size.

    • @LTVoyager
      @LTVoyager 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@luminousveiwsYou have that backwards. Low voltage systems often have much higher currents. To the get same power to a device, a 12 V circuit needs 10 times the current that a 120 V circuit needs.

    • @luminousveiws
      @luminousveiws 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@LTVoyager Who said anything about power? They are rated for a maximum voltage AND amperage. Either one can limit the power but both must be respected.
      BTW Wire size is also by current. So something for 12gu wire is generally built for the same maximum current.

    • @LTVoyager
      @LTVoyager 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@luminousveiws You did. You wrote “not much power on the same size wire.” Low voltage does not necessarily mean “not much power.” And neither voltage nor current limits power. Connectors are rated for both voltage and current for different reasons and it has nothing to do with power.

    My heater does not light unless i block off the inlet for the air "flu i think" then it will light, uncover the hole and it shuts off.
    What could be my problem?
