Dave Dickason is the mayor of Whittier, Alaska-a small town many may deem as strange due to the fact that all of the residents live in the same building. Dave’s daughter, Jenessa Lorenz, recently went viral on TikTok after showing off her hometown. The father and daughter join our show to talk about the interesting place that they call home.

I'd lose my ever loving mind lol. I'm sure it's a beautiful place to live and it obviously works for these people but I couldn't live in that close proximity to every person in my town. I couldn't imagine working with someone then getting into a disagreement with my co-worker or boss who's also my neighbor. You can forget the dating life too. No thank you.

I don't understand the fascination and the need to make it seem like the people here are crazy for living in one building. I mean, anchorage is just 1 hour away, it's just like any apartment complex in the suburbs. Especially with the tunnel, doesn't seem ridiculous to want to live here at all. And if you think about it, it's actually quite nice and wholesome that the neighbors can help each other out and keep each other company.

We do not ALL live under the same roof!! We have another condo association. I have lived here for 33 year’s. We use to only have the train to come and go from Whittier. Only three days a week. I really miss those days. New people like these people doing this interview have no idea what it was like to live here before. Most of us long timers miss the train. I’m so tired of people of people saying we all live under one roof.

I have researched this town 5 years ago. I am so intrigued and been working on hubby to move there. We live in the country now small town everyone knows everyone and we don't have a ton of traffic or people dropping by. So I don't know this type of life style.
