Finally i found a useful source of plant info. Very helpful. You are wiser than most plant growers considering your young age. Keep up the good work. U should be getting lots n lots more views.

First time I've watched your videos. Just getting into anthurium. How often do you spray with foliage spray ? I'm so excited 😁. Thank you for get info

Usually once a week in summer and every fortnight or more in winter. Try to make sure the leaves don't stay moist for too long or you can encourage fungal growth. I haven't had any issues with that but just something to be mindful of 🙂
      Thanks for watching!!

I recently decided to give anthuriums a try, so this was nice timing! The queen's always been the one that's caught my eye, but I keep hearing all these stories of how finicky she can be. I ended up settling on the vittariifolium and clarinervium. I half expected you to say the queen wasn't all that difficult, but I guess her reputation held! 😅It's good to get another confirmation that the clarinervium is easy going.
I think eventually I want to try out luxurians or one of its hybrids. I like the exaggerated texture and ruffles in the leaves. I'll have to do some digging to figure out if any hybrids bring that out better or if the original is the one I should get.
It's interesting that you touched on ambient conditions and humidity, because I've been trying to work through my own game plan. I like the idea of a greenhouse setup to help some sensitive plants get through the dryer and colder winter, but I also don't want plants getting too accustomed to perfect conditions. Size is also a problem like you mentioned. My thinking now is that I'll stick to compact plants for the most part... and maybe I'll perpetually cut back other plants, restarting them as props. Verrucosum might be a good example, as I hear they can also be a bit tricky. If I can keep one big enough to bring out the key features of the leaves but small enough to fit in a cabinet, it may just stay there forever. Maybe if some plants grow tall and not too wide with crazy petioles, those can also fit with moving adjustable shelves.
Hearing different experiences is always valuable. Thanks for sharing! 💚

Good choices on your first anthuriums! I didn't show on this video but I do also have a vittarifolium. They are so lovely to have on a high window sill ☺️
For the luxurians I think a hybrid wouldn't show the ruffles as well...of course it depends on the mix. Luxurians are being tissue cultured now so they are much more easily accessible. If you are in Australia I can recommend a place to buy one
Sounds like a good idea for a greenhouse set up! Anthuriums would be great for one as they are generally pretty compact and most are a little bit fussy haha
      Thanks for watching 🫶🏼

Thank you for an awesome video! What’s your ambient humidity just for reference?

    • @indoorplanthings

Fluctuates a lot but probably about 40% most of the time

I want to get an ikea greenhouse for starting Hoya as they root and leaf so much better. Right now I put my starters in xl ziploc baggies and it has worked well but it takes up a lot of space and once established I haven’t had any issues putting them in normal conditions.

I think that could work pretty well. Right now I'm thinking small moss poles, propagations, hoyas, peperomias, and succulents (if humidity isn't needed/contained) might be some of the better options for a greenhouse cabinet. It's also nice to have a dedicated place for some of the temporary plants

Hoyas would look beautiful displayed in an IKEA greenhouse. I'm yet to grow Hoyas so I can't comment on how they transition with change in environments. From what you have said they sound like they are hardy plants!
      Thanks for watching 🙂

@@indoorplanthings Hoyas are very hardy. I usually start them directly in soil and place in xl ziploc bag for humidity and once established take them out. I haven’t had any issues doing that yet

What is your RH? Do you mist them at all? What light do you provide?

    • @indoorplanthings
      @indoorplanthings  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

It fluctuates a lot between 30-80% but I'd say around 40% is a good norm. I don't mist any plants I own because I feel like it encourages defects to the leaf emerging. All my anthuriums get very little morning sunlight so I supplement with a grow light (I've got 3 different brands altogether) and they stays on for 8 hours daily 🙂
