This demo blew my expectations out of the water. Every part of the direction, story and characters was 10/10. The combat is really, really fun. The game has plenty of epic, booming parts, but I think what makes it shine most is that it's not afraid to be quiet, too.
if that's the case, that's very .hack of them. Something similar happens to Haseo when he overuses/misuses Skeith's power. But if that *was* the case, why did Clive *see* someone turn into Ifrit? and who was the hooded man that only he seemed to notice? Then again, it seems like a lot of people who are Dominants have extremely enhanced physical capabilities.

I like that Shiva has that dragonesque look, with her cape looking like the wings of a dragon. Dont know if that was the intention, but my brain makes that connection.
this *is* the same team that did FF14, where the first encounter with Shiva is that she was (very much willing) Consort to a Dragon Lord. That's probably intentional.
yes, but shiva is a major god in hindu culture. Leviathan is a massive water creature in the bible, diablo is spanish(or latin, cant remember) for devil, alexander is named after the great conqueror and so on. many of their summons are references to other cultures.
Y'know, for a while I was like, "WHY ARE THEY SHOWING POTENTIAL ROMANTIC FEELINGS BETWEEN CLIVE AND JILL, she's like 13 or something, that's jailbait!" Then I remember that Clive is only 15.
They aren't siblings, Jill's name is Jill Warrick and Clive is from Rosfield family. Jill is just a ward to their family so they have high romantic potential in future. They are children now so those feelings aren't very deeply explored this early into the game

ive got a feeling joshua is alive, partly due to the fact that his "death" happens while hes in phoenix form, and well the phoenix is the phoenix. plus we saw him "die" at the end of the gameplay segment of the fight, and he just comes right back after that
In the battle, he was at full power, if not entirely controlled. After, during the cutscene, he was badly hurt, and being physically ripped apart, not attacked by flames. If we use even slight gameplay to story conversion, had Ifrit used flames on Joshua, its possible he could have used those flames to re-fuel himself. But if you notice, Ifrit stopped using elemental attacks, and stuck to physical blows, beating and ripping at him. Which means that its possible an Eikon could recover itself if surrounded by/struck by/treated by its own element. But Ifrit went literal savage mode, and when Joshua hit him with the flamethrower, Ifrit tanked it easy, then kept Joshua from doing it again. Then it looked like Ifrit *absorbed* Joshua's powers. If you notice, Phoenix looked a lot less glowy before the end, in fact, it looked like a normal, if giant, red-colored bird, just before it got fisted, then exploded. as well, if you fail the DPS check in that bit before Joshua comes back, he *doesnt* come back. its a game over. if we take that into story account, then that means that Joshua *needed* the extra time, or Ifrit was *too weak* upon DPS check success, to throw his full power. As well there's lore in the demo that says the more power a Dominant uses, the more like their Eikon they become, as well as pushing themselves closer and closer to Actual Death. Joshua already re-raised himself once, its very likely that he would have had to return to Human form, and get a LOT of rest, before he could do it again.
So have you recovered from the experience of meeting Yoshi or are you still in a euphoric daze cause i know I'd be the latter Looking forward to the streams after release! Been a sec since ive been able to tune in
I am starting to think it's common for everyone to skip the lore mechanism of the game, hopefully people don't get confused later and blame the game xD.
@@raskolnikov6443It certainty isn’t vital, but it is nice to have. I imagine that with Yoshi P as producer it will have enough of a story structure to make us understand it without needing a lore grimoire.

Seeing as Joshua was "THE PHEONIX" Eikon/Dominant/whatever you call it.. Part of me suspects he will indeed live, ya know? Plus you don't see corpse or anything and storytelling 101, if you don't see the body (and even then in some cases they come back!) be skeptical of if they are truly dead, ya know? ...ya know..? But yeah, i have no actual idea and i cannot WAIT to play this game the moment my PS5 lets me start it up!!!! Haven't been this hyped for a (non XIV expansion) game in a long long LONG time.

I was for a long time really hoping this was good. Was rather disappointed with many of the latest Final Fantasy games in the series. This is on another level. Clive is the coolest main character since Squall. Seems like the best FF game since forever! Love it!
IMO the only hope for Joshua's return is the fact that he is the dominant of Phoenix and he might somehow return to life like a Phoenix being reborn from the ashes
very unlikely. Others in the family line were Phoenix's Dominant and they're Dead dead. And they likely died of old age/power overuse. Also it looked like Ifrit was somehow draining the Phoenix's power just before he performed on-the-spot bare-handed Open Heart Surgery on the poor lad. The second "part" of the demo shows a few hours later into the game and has Clive (unknowingly) doing something similar to what This Ifrit did, to another Dominant; the whole "i'mma drain your power" thing.

the walking speed. the loading times...
joking aside, parasite eve and vagrant story are such amazing games.
I love how everyone’s title is the same 😭. That shit hurt but it was SOOO GOOD. Ben Starr is gonna kill it as Clive.
This FF could be one of the best in the series!
I loved how Joshua kept on fighting, also how gorgeous was that Phoenix
This demo blew my expectations out of the water. Every part of the direction, story and characters was 10/10. The combat is really, really fun. The game has plenty of epic, booming parts, but I think what makes it shine most is that it's not afraid to be quiet, too.
Clive gets taken over by ifrit his consciousness gets transfered to Torgal.
if that's the case, that's very .hack of them.
I hope that one dude that kept spoiling in the comments got a permaban. That kind of attention seeking is fun for no one
Urianger shows up for 5 seconds and kills our dad..
HELP
as much as i’m going to relish seeing CBU3 finally getting the full amount of praise and attention they deserve, unchained by PS3 framework and the MMO genre, i’m already feeling a bit sorry for them
there’s a good chance they’re going to surge past Nomura in terms of demand from SE, and like they already barely sleep
even how/where they ended both parts of the demo was top class
i cannot wait for next week
1min into the game and i cryd bcs of how epic the game starts with that soken music
and at the end i cryd bcs i was not expecting this masterpiece trauma...
Play the demo and watching you play it and I still get emotion watching them scenes
Love LOVE your positivity.! Can’t wait for your play through of the full game :)
I can not wait to play this next week I’m so hyped.
Joshua is perfect, i havent had my emotions get the best of me like this for a long time
In Arab myth, ifrit is a fire djinn and they can possess people or make them go insane... Not sure if that what happened to Clive or not though...
yes, but shiva is a major god in hindu culture. Leviathan is a massive water creature in the bible, diablo is spanish(or latin, cant remember) for devil,
alexander is named after the great conqueror and so on.
many of their summons are references to other cultures.
I hope I can still experience the demo when I eventually get a ps5. I'm not sure when that'll be.
If the demo is not available at that time, don’t worry. This is said to be the actual prologue of the game
@@Dsrgreyy thanks for telling me
The Benedikta and Kupka scene definitely gave me the Game of Thrones vibes. 😂
"You Cock!" Best line delivery ever xD
Y'know, for a while I was like, "WHY ARE THEY SHOWING POTENTIAL ROMANTIC FEELINGS BETWEEN CLIVE AND JILL, she's like 13 or something, that's jailbait!" Then I remember that Clive is only 15.
They aren't siblings, Jill's name is Jill Warrick and Clive is from Rosfield family. Jill is just a ward to their family so they have high romantic potential in future. They are children now so those feelings aren't very deeply explored this early into the game
@@zakiimtiaz Never said they were siblings. I knew who she was before playing the game, and I read the active lore thing on her. The problem was the size disparity between them made it seem like he was an adult macking on a child.
@@omegagilgamesh Yeah the models make it seem like 20 and 13 lol
I think her active lore says she's a hostage from an earlier war so it might be intended for her to marry Clive to finalize the peace treaty
@@joshuarendleman7297 I remember the active lore saying she was from the rebellious northern territories, but I don't remember it ever saying she was a political hostage.
32:16 is like a scene out of ff8
That music to start to, omg brings tears to my eyes :)
ive got a feeling joshua is alive, partly due to the fact that his "death" happens while hes in phoenix form, and well the phoenix is the phoenix. plus we saw him "die" at the end of the gameplay segment of the fight, and he just comes right back after that
In the battle, he was at full power, if not entirely controlled.
Oh this isn’t your usual final fantasy. Amazing
The best demo I've played in a long time.
1:03:22 OMG THATS A FFX REFERENCE, ITS THE EXACT SAME WHISTLE YUNA DID AT THE ENDING
Demo blew me away
So have you recovered from the experience of meeting Yoshi or are you still in a euphoric daze cause i know I'd be the latter
Looking forward to the streams after release! Been a sec since ive been able to tune in
You are correct, the VA for the Dragoon you fight is the same as Estinien.
BTW that is not the end of the demo. There is a part 2. You can actually keep going after it says Thanks for playing.
Level grinding I believe?
@@Struzzylive more like a combat demo where you fight benidikta lol
I am starting to think it's common for everyone to skip the lore mechanism of the game, hopefully people don't get confused later and blame the game xD.
@@GooseGumlizzardit gives vital information. People miss a lot by not reading at least some of it.
@@raskolnikov6443It certainty isn’t vital, but it is nice to have. I imagine that with Yoshi P as producer it will have enough of a story structure to make us understand it without needing a lore grimoire.
Lore mechanism? lmao The tutorial literally mentioned that all of it can be viewed in some sort of codex/database later on. So I seriously don't know why tf some of you trying to act superior and above others just because you used the ATL function.
@@zeroskaterz92 Are you done? Ok, back to my cup of tea.
@@dohalimilqarasdeldemenanci8483 Ah the superiority complex and look down on people. Thank you for proving my point.
This is Legendary!!! Your Content is always a blast to watch!!! BUT DAMN This Demo was absolutely Phenomenal!!
Someone in the comments: "This is just like Florida."
Anabella: "The enslavement of the Bearers was good for them; it gave them important skills, such as how to dry clothes using magic, gardening using magic, heating a furnace using magic, and dying of the Crystal's Curse."
Seeing flames of rebirth here after seeing anything Phoenix related in XIV is something.
Yay!!! Your reaction was the one I’ve been anticipating ❤
i really hope we make the "mother" suffer in the worst possible way
They do an excellent job of selling her character as someone everyone wants to hate.
Wow just beat the demo and what a great video to accompany my immediate thoughts.😭
someone in chat said to cast a pheonix down on the king im crying
While watching LoneWolfie's FFXVI videos I was thinking "damn this is cool!" Then I bought a PS5 to play the game and now it's my favourite game ever by a long shot
I loved EVERYTHING ABOUt ThIS DEMO and it was so emotionally driven and hooked me I saw the trailer and thought it wasn’t going to be my type of final fantasy but OMG the wife set everything up because of the fact that the father didn’t see Clive how his mother saw him and it set a flame that made her wanna over run her husband
Them: Thanks for playing:)
Sarah:🥲
This is a first I'm gonna play Final Fantasy on english dub, Clive's VA was awesome
starting the video with a yoshi-p jumpscare i love it.
I wasnt sure about Wade. Thought he was gonna be a bad guy but im glad i was proven wrong. I'm so happy i played the demo because i wasnt gonna buy it but now im so hyped for it. I'm happy it has more mature themes. This game looks to have an amazing story. I knew Yoshi P and Soken couldn't let us down. Now you gotta do the Eikon challenge mode lol. Although i guess it will be out by then.
my biggest problem with Wade is that, he should've been called Wedge instead.
Anyone cried for the Joshua father ? Happy father day
Lmao, "Thanks for playinggg ;) !!!"
I know someone else probably said this and I haven't looked it up, but just from listening to the dragoon speak, they definitely sound like Estinien.
This almost as Shulk beat for the best "I'll kill you!" In video games.
I think this game gonna be awesome, like when playing ff9 for the first time 😊
betraying mom - He is worthless, kill Clive now *tries walking away*
*Time Freeze* THE PLOT - Bitch, you better save him right now or your dead! *Unfreeze*
Betraying Mom - Wait! I have a Genuis idea what we can do with him...
If FF16 doesn't drop the ball on it's story it could easily be GOTY. This game could end up being for modern Final Fantasy what FF7 was for the PS1 era.
Ok so Joshua is the phoenix, i might be wrong but if they are smart they will plot twist this and bring Joshua back from the ashes, It just makes sense that'll be so cool
'Please leave the chocobo's alone' PepeLaugh but also Aware
We are now in an age where video games are almost more cinematic than ACTUAL movies!
In this case it's even far more cinematic imo
Love watching your react videos. Never fails to put a smile on my face, or when we cry together. Keep it up. But a question for you: Do you plan to do a Let's Play for this game, like how you did for Xenoblade Chronicles? Would be awesome if you did. Would watch it from start to finish.
I’m pretty sure that was Cloud saying “Re…un…ion.” 1:03:38
Lol
phoenix always comes back to life, don't worry.
Still love the Cain Highwind pose from the dragoon lol
"Thanks for playing, sorry for making you cry!"
Can't lie i cried i was completely caught off guard
Why am I more sad for the chocobos than any of the other characters though :/
It’s like if Ned Stark was married to Cersei Lannister.
