I disagree that BB58 is hyped and a fashion watch but your video is looking great and seems to have an effect of making people wanting this watch more. I have been wearing BB58 blue for more than a year and recently change the steel bracelet with a blue alligator leather strap and the watch become super fantastic to me. It is the best watch in overall rating in the retail price range between $1 and $1,000,000.
Fashion watch, "Nrrr" !!! a reissue of a great watch "YES" because some buyers may feel uncomfortable buying a vintage piece if they could afford one. The 58 is a brilliant piece . I have no regret buying this watch. I'm desk diver anyway, but I agree, for actual diving Nrrr I would use a pelagos 39 because I believe its bezel is fully lumed if that's right.
I didn’t know much about the BB58 when I purchased one. I just fancied something smaller than my Omega Planet Ocean. Next purchase is an Explorer 40. Although I only ever actually wear an Apple Watch SE! 😂
Far from a fashion. You will probably never drive 100 meters underwater. BB58 does more than 100 meters. The coin edge bezel, like it or not, gives drivers with gloves the best traction possible. The big crown is very useful to wind and set the time right before a dive. Any serious sports or aviation watch has a big crown. 39 MM case may be a bit small but divers in the past handled diving very well even as soldiers in war with smaller dials. The lume is pretty bright, and the pip lights up as well. The whole bezel doesn’t light up, but again, in the past divers didn’t have bezel lume and did just fine.
The original Black Bay 58 is as close as I'll ever come to owning a Rolex 6538 (the world's coolest watch in my humble opinion). If you're spending thousands of dollars on a watch, then it's not really a tool, it's jewellery for men. I find myself often looking at the watch face, not to tell the time, but to admire its beauty. Having said that, it's kinda cool timing random things with the dive bezel.
These differentiations are only in the heads of watch nerds. ..in bright daylight most luxury dive watches are fashion watches in a sense, be it the sub (hello two tone sub) or seamaster.
The tudor black bay is just a lovely warm design, thats informal yet classy. Its a quality watch thats reachable for people that can't justify 8k or more on a submariner. At 3k its not cheap, and you can buy watches as good, for less money if your not bothered about a brand. I've got a tudor, and the time keeping is amazing, but I've got seikos that are nicer for similar money, preowned anyway, for quality at least, albeit the tudors are more accurate.

Thank you for kind words, a a good response overall! I also love the blue one, the negatives on the black doesn't count for the blue.

Nice take - different tastes :)

Exclude that last part please ;)
I wrote an article, "Trade My 2019 BB58 For The Blue New Hotness?" Since then I've sold the BB58 and the Halios. Same reason, I like having the date.
Where do you write ? :)
I own a BB58 Blue dial on a Blue Artem sailcloth strap, seems like my problems are solved. Great video!
Nice strap choice - thanks! :)

Well put, appreciate it!
Finally enough, I've actually used in Black Bay 58 for diving...
That's awesome! How was it?
All ‘luxury’ watches are fashion watches. No watch needs to cost thousands to perform its tool functions. See Seiko, Citizen, Sinn, Helm etc etc
Hard to disagree with you on that, comes to a point where functionality becomes hobby and interest as well.

The irony is that the 39mm pelagos is seen by many to be a fashion watch compared to its big brothers, and its ad campaign confirmed this.
Good point. Can’t stand the ad campaign.
Agree...
Thanks!
I have the bb58 blue and nothing can touch it at that price range .. period
The blue version is a whole other story, a better watch in my book!
Like it! Subscribed🤝
Wow - thanks!

Agree, ish. But love it either way!
Thanks :)
