Got mine from my mother in 1997. I could choose between this one or a Rolex. I held this one and a Submariner. The Omega felt like a real watch and the Submariner was like half the weight and felt “floppy” Still have the Seamaster and I wear it every day.

Is there a big difference between prx and rolex one?

Still trying to figure out the respectful heritage possessed by the makers of the watch. Definitely not a homage to Venus movements, they quite literally purchased the rights to manufacture the caliber. Seagulls are trash and the movements are dated.

Had mine for over 27 yrs now. It still lights up all night, has no yellowish hue on the lume and the bezel is nigh on scratch free. I wear it very regularly but have always been mindful not to bump or scratch it. I'll never part with it!

Where's the best place to get it serviced? Mine is loosing a lot of time....

At the 5:00 mark the unidirectional bezel is turning the wrong way? And second hand ticks backwards. I assume the footage was run backwards for some reason?

I just bought my very own spb453j1 for my birthday and im happy with it and is extremely accurate too, i used it for a month now,as i use it it has 8seconds per day, 7 seconds per day and 2 seconds per day

I have owned my 1991 reference from new. It now has a wonderful creamy patina on the indices. Worn everyday and just superb … it’s part of me ! Recently, my wife wanted to buy me a new Rolex. I got very excited but the problem was…. Would I miss my lovely old sub!? Yes, so, I saved myself 10 k and we are now properly back together. Thank goodness, normal service restored. My daughter told me that she could not imagine me without this watch. I rest my case on this rugged yet beautiful icon

SPB143 is enough for me. No need for another iteration.

I thought about the same thing I like the green dial but it’s a bit too light seems like unlike the original green bold color that’s consistent

I used to own a quartz version of this, mainly because he had quartz in Goldeneye. I wore it for many years until I saw it on the wrist of a pornstar... that kind of killed it for me then 🫤 haha

In 2010, I set out to buy my first new Rolex and wanted the last of the five digit Submariners as I heard the new ceramic replacement were arriving into the AD's with a price increase. I didn't know as much then as I do now about the submariner but liked the idea of owning a new 16610 and liked the lower price and thinner case and after getting over the apprehensiveness of spending $6k for a stainless steel watch, which defied all my finacial common sense in general. I'm in Illinois and looked at one at a AD near my work that had one left, a 2007 Z serial. That alone shocked me that a three year old new watch still sold for $6k but of course not everyone is into spending that kind of money so it wasn't to uncommon to see few year old serail numbers in AD's at the time. After seeing it, I wanted to think about it a day or so and decided to buy two days latter but it sold. I ended up traveling to north Illinois, about 150 miles to but the only other new one in the state in stock at an AD and it was a random serial engraved 2008 - 09 like yours. They said they would hold it for one day, actually one evening as they were getting lots of calls on it. My wife and I jumped in the car and headed north for a two hour drive and I purchased it. Have it still to this day but my tastes went a bit more vintage so I ended up buying a used 1991 14060 no date in 2013. Love the drilled lugs and tritium dial a bit more and that it sticks to the original no date formule of the first 1950's submariner. And I will also add, before buying the Pelagos 39 I did my research and your videos were the most unique and helpful in understanding this watch (had a lot of the right details), on all of youtube (except the German segment)

Your channel is one of the best in the watch category, even though you don't have the most beautiful pictures, editing and music - But you have a very important component in your videos, namely the personal experience you share - in comparing Pelagos and Seamaster you give a lot of valuable details that no one else in the world tells. How tight and pleasant it is to twist the bezel, the sensation of setting the watch, how the clasp works, the overall feeling of quality - these are the details that give value. I as a viewer am not interested in cliched advertising texts, I appreciate personality and individuality, unfortunately in this video I see a slippage to what 99% of other bloggers do. By the way it would be interesting to see a comparison of expensive watches with affordable and popular ones, for example GMT5 - I think that many people have GMT5 or SKX and they will better understand the difference. Ordered the exact configuration after watching your first video and received it 3 months later. Had the same buyers remorse as I traded my silver dial model for this one. However it has grown on me and I know I made the right choice.
