    I didn't get the betadine. I think the antibacterial was part of the numbing agent. No problem after my first injection although I was glad to have my wife drive the forty minutes home since keeping the eye closed was a relief. I was amazed that my vision improved within 24 hours. This was for retinal vein occlusion.

    Great and timely information for me. Under treatment, received an eye injection. Hemmorige just like the doctor mentioned. Great news to hear my condition is is not atypical. I am overseas and communication is not the best sometimes. So I am very greatful for this info. Feeling no pain and eye is starting to clear up but still looks like hell.

    I see some questions in the comments that definitely need to be addressed by your doctor not random people on the internet.

      I have been treated for the last 4 years due to diabetic retinopathy...on EYLEA, Avastin, Lucentis, Ozurdex and laser....currently 20/20 and 20/25 .. injections are monthly...don't be afraid..keep glucose levels in range, also blood pressure. Found a wonderful specialist as her knowledge, expertise and gentle hand has been exceptional.

    I had my first injection on 29th march. I had retinal hameorrage. Since then my eye hurts like someone is stabbing in my eye. I am in extreme stress and undergoing panic attacks when i think of the pain I have to undergo for my next intravetral injections.

      If you continue to have pain after your treatment, seek out another doctor. While this procedure will never be comfortable, if you experience extreme discomfort afterwards, the doctor is doing something wrong. Also, I take a half of a Xanax tablet ( anti anxiety medication ) before I go to each appointment.

    The laser zapping treatment they had in the past actually worked. It was a one time treatment. Why did they switch to this pharma based treatment that you then need to do over and over? It makes no sense.

    im getting eye injections 5 in row the last time was febuary 9 2024. i got the subconjunctival hemorrhage on the last injection, then after 5 days i notice white bump on the white part of my eye where the hemorrhage is located about half the size of a rice's grain. the hemorrhage is almost gone now but the white bump still remains. does anybody know what this white bump is? i think this is the exact location where i got the injection. there is no pain or anything, it is just sticking out like rice's grain half the size white color.

      Not till after the injection. Then it stings for about an hour. I had this done yesterday. I felt like I had to keep my eye closed for about three hours. The doctor hit a blood vessel; during the injection; which resulted in the entire sclera being red as blood this morning. 😳 It looks worse than the photos in this video.

      @@teresaharris-travelbybooks5564 How effective is the treatment? Does it help at all?

    • @teresaharris-travelbybooks5564
      @teresaharris-travelbybooks5564 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@sarahmccoy1941 I've only had the one treatment. I actually thought I did notice an improvement but that could be wishful thinking. At least my eyesight didn't get worse. Some people see ' floaters' in their eyes after treatment and I haven't had anything like that. My next appointment is March 23rd. Edit: I've had a second treatment and I don't think I can do this every six weeks for years. I had a full blown panic attack the night before, and was unable to sleep at all. Also, this time I had an allergic reaction to an antibiotic ointment that was placed in my eye, after the procedure. Upon my first visit, which was a consultation, I noted on my admittance forms that I was HIGHLY allergic to Neosporin. When I had the reaction, I called the medical office and asked them what ingredient was in the eye ointment used on me and they wouldn't tell me so I believe it was Neosporin. The nurse tried to tell me that I had seasonal allergies. What concerns me is that this treatment goes on for YEARS. It isn't a cure. Who knows what the eventual effects there could be, from having these injections for 10-15 years? Edit: I switched doctors because the previous doctor kept hurting me, which resulted in extreme pain in the hours following the injection. Things are much better now. It will never be a comfortable procedure but I'm not experiencing the post procedure pain that I used to have, and my condition is in remission which means I currently don't have any blood leakage from the retinal vessels. If you feel like your current doctor isn't open to your issues with pain or concerns, find a different doctor. Don't suffer unnecessary pain and anxiety.
