His businesses were legitimate. His shops were in Delhi/London/Bangalore/Hong Kong etc. operating for years. Problem is they took HUUUUGE risk and our fraudulent banking system allowed him to take as much as loan he wished. and when economy headed southwards, he is unable to sell those diamonds. Thats the story. Same story with Vijay Mallya. Our fraud bankers(SBI) gave him some 5000Cr loan to run airline. Nowhere in the world, bank gives this much loan for business whose profit margin is 1 to 2%.
