Lovely drone shots Tim, great to see two steam trains side by side, looked a busy spot at the Citadel, it was also busier at shap too being a nice day and a different loco on offer, cheers Steve . 👍
We haven't had too many days like this in 2024 - I shall look forward to seeing your footage from Shap - it'll make a change from the usual wind and rain! The two steamers side by side was quite a bonus. Best wishes.
Hello Tim, it was a true honour to meet you on that day, thank you for saving a table on the green for us. Regards, Jonathan Edit: the train pulling in on platform 1 was the MPV
Hi Jonathan. It was lovely meeting you and your grandparents - I'm sure our paths will cross again some day. And thanks for the info. I've had a look at your channel and subscribed - I look forward to seeing some results from your new "gadget"!
@@schoolshorts thank you so much Tim, I shall be posting with my new gadget soon as I’m going to a couple of railways and galas this month. I really do hope a paths cross again and I hope you stay safe.
You made the right choice staying in Carlisle. Great views of both trains and getting them side by side is something not seen before there. That's me looking over the London Road bridge before having a quick walk back to the station for Braunton's departure. Thanks to the red signal I almost got there before the train so my gamble on having time to get back worked out. The S&C looked beautiful and I took a lot of video on the way home for a future Ride the Rails. A lovely day out and good to see you there again.
We don't get many days like that at Carlisle. Passengers on both specials must have had wonderful rides on England's two most spectacular railway lines. Arrival and departure times for the two trains were so close to each other that the logistics of the day were difficult, to say the least - but the end result was quite pleasing. I spotted a solitary figure on London Road bridge but, obviously, couldn't tell who it was. You must have had good - if smoky - views from there!
@@schoolshorts Yes one of the few days this year it has been fine all day over the top on the S&C The passengers on both charters will of had lovely views. I was not sure what to do as I wanted to try for a shot of both trains together and knew Upperby was a bit too far to walk to and get back to the station in time, then thought they are both going into 3 so there's a chance they will hold Braunton on the single line curve while Tangmere passes on the main. As you saw they sent Braunton out on the main so I headed to the bridge where Tangmere gave me a smoky view with a wonderful aroma.
Tim a really very good video and very views of both of the steam trains and very good video from the drone showing both trains leaving and where they are going very well done and looking forward to seeing the next video
Tim, a really brilliant video, I appreciated every minute of it. I was on Carlisle stn on a recent Saturday and looked around if you were there. No sign that day!
Some interesting shots there Tim. I noticed Colin had caught you talking to Tangmere's driver, It certainly was crowded at the Citadel! The weather was good but all the recent rain meant haze to varying degrees. Still vwery enjoyable
I haven't seen either Colin's work or yours yet - so treats to look forward to! Your absence was widely noted. John on the coffee barrow (yes, on a Saturday) packed up early, obviously unwell and thinking he had Covid. I hope he's O.K. - you might pick up some news on one of your visits.
The last time I was on the Tamar bridge was 1997. Virgin had just taken over from BR on the long-distance cross-country routes and, courtesy of a special offer with the Sunday Times, I got a return ticket from Perth to Penzance for £20, giving me three nights in the Scilly Isles
A top quality video, Tim. Thank you so much.
Excellent vlog Tim…You certainly do spoil us with theses magnificent productions 👍🏻😊
So long as you keep appreciating them I'll try to keep producing them! Best wishes.

@@schoolshorts Your welcome Tim
Thoroughly enjoyable watch from start to finish, enhanced immensely by superb drone footage. Many thanks, and if I may say so, very well done!
You may indeed say so - and it's much appreciated!
Tim you've made some truly great films over the years but this has got to be the best ever IMO . . . . .well done you and thank you . . . . .
Thank you John. Responses like this make it all worth while.

There will be some lucky people traveling on the S&C in this lovely weather.
True - and also the Cumbrian coast line which, to my mind, is every bit a match for the S&C.
Excellent filming Tim, like the drone footage of the two near London Rd and a cracking view of Braunton heading to the coast.👍👍
Thanks David. For once the weather was on my side and I was able to make good use of the drone. That hasn't happened too often this summer.
I love your narration. Great shots as well.😊
Thank you Nathan. Comments such as your make all the hours of work worthwhile.

Thanks Fraser. There are more in the pipeline.
You’re very welcome you don’t always see two big steam trains at the same station especially in the uk now
Really enjoyed your latest video Tim well done
Many thanks - that's what I like to hear.

Thank you Frank. A shame we didn't meet - but there'll always be another time. Best wishes.
Great vlog..do like the little voice overs you do. makes it more interesting. The video from the air is great..
Thank you - reviews like yours make the long hours and the travel worthwhile. Best wishes.

A very high quality video!
Thank you Richard - much appreciated.
Fascinating stuff!
Thank you Michael - glad you enjoyed it.
Tim, the departmental on platform 1 looks like one of NR's Windhoff MPV's ,can be used for leaf busting or deicing the third rail
Thanks for that. The leaf-busting will soon be needed but there's not much use for third rail treatment in this part of the world. Best wishes.
@@schoolshorts It's a NR MPV heading North for the start of the Sandite season, happens every year around this time
so you had a Southern Invasion headache at carlisle Tim ho well never mindd still made a great video
That's a headache we've grown quite used to here in recent months! Many thanks.
👍👍
Thank you John.
