Good grief. The range, power and control that Freya often exhibits has so much meaning in this duet. Dan, of course was superb too. Just off the back of the acoustic Live in Paris performance by Bastille this was a really wonderful thing to stumble upon.
@@Atlantis8100 what are you talking about 😭😭 Youve joined a conversation without knowing what it’s about 😭 The lady I responded to said that Pompeii is a millennial song, I said it’s not… idk what you’re saying 😭
I love him! Seen him live multiple times and his voice gives me chills! Freya actually adds to his voice which is so impressive. They sound amazing together. Beautiful
Just when I thought I had heard the perfect collaboration, they go and get Freya involved! Utterly outstanding and beautiful! My family have had to suffer my indifference to them as I repeat this over and over again.
I was so happy when I heard Freya on the alto line (for the most parts) instead of the soprano which she generally sings. If you know Freya's voice, you know she's a beautiful and distinct but overtaking soprano. However, she appropriated her voice magnificently here and complimented Bastille's very well. That's talent right there. Loved it.
Same here! Majestic singing from these two. Fwiw I just researched the phenomenon and it's called musical frisson and apparently not everyone gets chills or goosebumps listening to music. Glad to be one of the ones that do as it's such a good feeling!
I was so happy they came out with this version and have been listening to it on Spotify nonstop. It shows the power that music can have on a song. I love it!
Another master piece imo, absolutely love Hans Zimmer's work. First time I knew about Hans Zimmer was during the videogame MW2 and only after that I figured out how much incredible work he delivered in so much of my favorite entertainment
I keep listenting to it on repeat! Such an amazing job by Bastille, Freya and all the orchestra and choir musicians! Does anyone know the lyrics by the choir at 1:44 - 2:00?

We do, I love them
Mewing lvl 100
The orchestra, the choir, the singers. This reminds me how beautiful life can be. And what beautiful things we can create together.
What a beautiful comment, Johanna. I agree.
My sentiments exactly.
I love this comment ❤ Thank you
Great insight! ❤❤❤

@@gosias751you realise this was only released in 2013? Not at all millennial…

he almost cannot stand still while singing because of how much he puts into it. And Freya is just out of this world. Such a masterpiece.
Wow 😮.
You know you’ve hit peak success not when you’ve sold more albums than any other artist but when Hans Zimmer provides the music to your song!

The world needs a lot of performances like this. It is astonishing how difficult it is to find pieces like this

Serving the song :) Freya Ridings' voice is so full in her lower register!
Cringe lord
@@12345Yeah No need to introduce yourself.
Freya Ridings isn't a soprano. Even the high note here is well within contralto range.
Hans Zimmer is and always will be a musical genius.!
Love Freya Ridings. Amazing performance.
I so wish there were a production version on Spotify with Freya as well.. this is just the most wonderful collab.
Man, these two prove the world what singing really means. It's unbelievable how their voices match so perfectly. ❤
