Which MacBook Pro would you choose? Let me know in the comments! If you’re still undecided, here’s the breakdown: - M4: Great for everyday users, students, and lighter workflows. - M4 Pro: Best for creators and professionals who need extra power for demanding tasks. 🔗 Want to see how these models perform in real world tests? For what I understand, 16GB of RAM should be fine for browsing, office apps, and photo editing, especially on Apple devices since they handle memory really well. For AI, it depends. If you’re just running AI tools in the cloud, like ChatGPT, it’s more than enough. But if you’re doing heavier stuff like training machine learning models locally, 16GB might feel a bit tight. In that case, 32GB would give you more breathing room.👌Hope that helps!
Hey, thanks for explaining everything. base model m4 would be enough for video editing mostly for youtube and social media ? Include 4k and shoot from like go pro max 360 ?
the thing is m4 at amazon is 1799 with 24 ram and 1 tb while the m4 pro base with 24 ram and 512 is 1749, I think its better to have that extra power for less than 512 of storage, am i wrong?
Hi! I’m going to buy a MacBook Pro soon, but I’m not sure which one to buy: M4 seems very well balanced especially for the use in computer science and physics master degree. However, the M4 pro with 24 gb ram and more power is very tempting. I’d go with the M4 pro to future-proof and mostly to have some extra ram and power, even for some rare gaming. What is stopping me is the fact that the M4 pro is less efficient for light tasks, since it has less efficiency cores. What do you think? I typically use maylab, Xcode, many browser tabs, and sometimes a virtual machine. I’m going to keep it for the next 6 years minimum
@@giacomofontanive4977 Hey! Sounds like you’re trying to make the perfect choice here, and honestly, both options are great. If I were in your shoes, I’d probably lean toward the M4 Pro with 24GB RAM, especially since you’re planning to keep it for 6 years and run things like Matlab, Xcode, etc.. Those extra performance cores and RAM will definitely come in handy for heavier tasks and make multitasking feel smoother. Plus, with the M4 Pro, you’re setting yourself up for more demanding tasks down the line, whether it’s for your master’s degree, future projects, or even some rare gaming (which the extra GPU power will love). Hope that helps, and good luck with your new MacBook! 😁 Let me know what you end up picking, I’m pretty sure you’re going to love it!!👌😁
Agree that the base m4 pro model sounds like it would be a good fit for you. You probably won’t outgrow it in that time period, but if you do, you could always resell it and upgrade to the current base level MacBook Pro. The base level computers generally have a great resell value. Upgrades, while expensive when you purchase it from Apple, typically have a minor impact on the resell price later on.
I think I’m gonna contribute to the difficulty of your choice, because I have it as well, and the price for an M4 with 32gb ram and 512 ssd, is the same price as the m4 pro 24gb ram and 512 ssd
I'm coming from Windows machine and getting my first Mac machine. I choose the M4 Pro with 14-Core CPU /20-Core GPU. It is incredible fast, while working with 6.2K footage in Davinci Resolve. No regret moving to Mac.
Hi there! I would say that if you need it right now just go for the MacBook Air M3, if you’re not in a hurry, in 3 or 4 months the MacBook Air M4 should be available which will be a better choice imo. Hope it helps 😊
Hey!! I didn’t notice any differences to be honest. With both I got around 2 days (maybe 20 hours) of usage while doing research, web browsing, and writing, plus around 6-7 hours of video editing. If there’s a difference, I didn’t notice it at all. Hope it helps!😬😅
I'm a PhD student, planning to buy a MacBook for the next three years. Currently, browsing the web, collecting data, and writing, these are the activities. Will have to use coding software such as Nvivo in the future and also run some statistics or experiments. Which MacBook Pro is better for me, the M4 or the M4 Pro?
Thanks for the video! I went with the M4 base model. I tossed 2 iPhone clips into a timeline on premiere, totaling 10 seconds. Added an adjustment layer. It took 2 minutes to render a 10 second clip and the fans kicked into full gear. Is there a chance I got a faulty unit?
Im not the biggest editor who edits hard raw footage. I edit simple 4K action camera footage or 1080p. But my issue lies with motion graphics, text, animations, etc... I have a base Mac Mini M2 with 16GB of ram and struggles with some of it. Would the new base M4 Mac Mini be much better with motion graphics?
Hi! I believe so! This MacBook Pro M4 it’s essentially the same as the Mac Mini M4, you should get identical results. The GPU cores are much more powerful than the M2 version👌
Great question! To fully enjoy that kind of performance, it would likely need newer technology like Thunderbolt 5, as current standards like Thunderbolt 4 might not have enough bandwidth. Some devices could handle it with a fallback to lower settings, but for the best experience, having the latest hardware will probably be necessary. Did i miss any rumours?😅
theoretically TB4 isnt enough, but Display Stream Compression does make it handle it. But honestly, if you consider a monitor that expensive, why even bother with the base M4?
@ well, if it was not indispensable to run that resolution and fps and you don’t plan to do hardcore video editing; you just want a nice monitor. Then why spend more
@@andrecreates I ordered already, but while waiting my m4 pro , still watching all video about macbooks😂 will be my first macbook ever. Im Apple user for a while, but only iPhone, ipad before)
should i get upgraded 16inch MBP if i want to use it for video editing for final cut and davinci resolve? or can I just get 14inch MBP base model. May I ask which one you got?
I don't edit 8k videos or use heavy applications. I was wondering if for some occasional 4k video editing and web browsing or office the MacBook Pro M4 base model 16/512 is sufficient. I plan to keep the MacBook for many years at least 6-7.

Thank you! I like that you test them in real scenarios and always pay attention to fans noise, which is important for me.
Hi Roberto! I’m really glad it helped!:) Which one are you interested?
I am going for the M4 Pro, as I really need more performance cores for music production. They really make a difference in Logic Pro.
Yes they do! That’s a great choice!👌

More Storage
Do not forget thunderbolt 5. For external disks, graphic cards, etc..
Future proof.👌
No eGPU with Apple Silicon
I went with M4 Pro. It was just 200€ more expensive in the configs that i need. But remember: *never double down on storage*
