Thank a lot for this movie. I did it and I needed approx. 45 min. I also don't need to remove the side handles and there was enough space to change the battery. Please be patient and attentive because the emergency unit control is not very visible after you lower the roof. To see the unit control you have to look at it from a large angle just behind the edge of the bodywork. Be careful not to collapse the headliner. Good luck!
Have the same problem on my 2019 X3. Shark fin antenna is leaking small amount of water and shorted out the entire module. If the battery replacement didn’t fix the issue then you may need to replace the entire module and reseal the shark fin. Hope this helps. Took me weeks of troubleshooting

If, after replacing the SOS battery, the message is still present, the SOS module may be defective. usually after replacing the battery it no longer shows any defects in the diagnosis.

It's great but I am just annoyed at such a crazy place to put a battery that requires changing! BMW clearly doing this shit to make money! We pay a bit more for these cars for quality and this is really poor from bmw! 🤬🤯
You're right, but if you think about it, that area is very rarely subject to accidents and that's why the system is put there to announce the position of your car in case of emergencies, which can make the difference between life and death.

Is it Necessary to use the diagnostic system ? Won’t the warning disappear itself after you change the battery ?

Daca nu a sters erorile asa se intampla, ar mai fi o cauza bateria montata sa fie defecta sau consumata.
