Eivør Pálsdóttir is a Faroese singer-songwriter. She sings songs in english or in her mother tongue. Tórshavn is the capital city of the Faroe Islands. I saw Eivor several times live here in Germany, it was always great and she is such a kind person, too. By the way, this was my favorite song of her, but there are so many more (she released her first album in 2000) like "Boxes", "Bridges" or "True Love". 🐈
Greatest vocalist in the world, Eivor the magnificent. This is well inside what she can do. But I tell you, sometimes in a performance she will throw a switch and go to places few singers could follow. Some of her stuff is virtually uncoverable, purely because the vocals are insane. On top of that she is a brilliant composer and songwriter. Her recent album ENN is brilliant and I notice it has moved through more than a million downloads on Spotify.
There are singers and then there is Eivor. Gullspunnin (Live on KVF) with gorgeous chorus, Trollabundin (symphonic or outdoor version very different from each other but both are sensational), True Love (Sofar Los Angelos version) and of course The Last Kingdom with Danish Natonal Orchestra. Enjoy!
No one noticed the beautiful lyrics that, to me, speaks of some sort of god/presence and the ability to see beauty everywhere and letting go when you feel something/someone is always there for you ?
Eivør (eye-vor) is one of the most beautiful hidden gems in the vocal world. She's very well known in northern Europe, but unless someone's been prowling on TH-cam and specifically looking for music outside the "pop" or "metal" realms, she's almost unheard of in the US. If you've ever seen the BBC series "The Last Kingdom" you might be more familiar with her, since she performs the title music. Other tracks of hers you might enjoy are Trøllabundin (which others have mentioned already), Verð Mín, and one of her newest (and hardest), Upp Úr Øskuni, all of which she sings in her native Faroese (which is related to Icelandic).
Welcome to the amazing world of Eivør. One of the best vocalists on the planet. I will have the pleasure of seeing her perform in London later this year. If you have watched the Netflix Viking drama series ‘The Last Kingdom’ you will have already heard her as she did all the background singing and tribal vocalisations in that show. This is a link to a Last Kingdom soundtrack performance she did in London last year to give you some idea of the different vocalisations she can do th-cam.com/video/WT65X0eBTEA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=M0RR5znZNPNzu9zM
I love this reaction and the love she got from everyone involved. Since you loved this, pelease give “wake me up-live” by her as well, it’s absolutely beautiful in its own way , and it’ll be criminal if you overlook it
i think i have requested this song for a long time. This young lady is full of talent. She sang this at a concert in Bristol England she is a smashing young lady I had a bit of a chat with her and her band all great pepole. She blew my socks off.Thank you.
Going to see her live in a couple of months, Utrecht in the Netherlands, together with my son and his girlfriend!!!! And opening for Eivør is Sylvaine, who is AWESOME too. Sylvaine is Neige's girlfriend and Neige is better known as the 'band' Alcest.....seeing him in december in Paradiso, Amsterdam. GREAT year of live shows!!! AMAZING artist!!!! Listen to her work on The Last Kingdom series/soundtracks!!!! There are great clips of Eivør performing live with John Lunn, the composer of said soundtracks with whom Eivør collaborated with....magic combination! Also saw you reacted to some Lindsey Sterling.......now for an INCREDIBLE violin cover of Maggot brain, listen to Lili Haydn - Maggot brain live 2011. Of course no lyrics, but a heartbreaking rendition of this classic guitar song, on violin. Or another Danish artist (like Eivør....ok ok Faroe islands), 'Sleep party people - I'm not human at all'.....which has a same sort of intensity, while also very much different. And weird.....for the live act and clip of this song a band was formed (it's originally just one guy) wearing bunny ears/masks. It's why I once clicked because it looked so idiotic.....but I got GREAT music!
Eivor is transcendent, such an incredible voice. You have some (good) surprises coming up if you do more reactions with her. Top post already has great recommendations, so I won’t make any.
It's about time you did evior she is amazing this song takes my soul every time i hear it great reaction ladies and also evior does the soundtrack for the hit TV series last kingdom
Eivor Palsdottir is from the Faroe Islands, near Iceland I believe......she is a traditional "folk" artist, focusing on songs that recall a Norse tradition, but can sing from any genre...she performs in multiple languages, but her native Faroese is beautiful to hear....check out any version of her "Trollabundin" and her duet with Einar Selvik of Wardruna performing "Helvegen"
I don't know the size of your waiting list but my 20 dollar request was entered on May 11th and have received no notices. Just a heads up. I'm sure I'm far from being the only one!
Yall should give Ballad of the Alamo by Marty Robbins a listen it's a good song about the battle of the Alamo in the Mexican-American war in the 1850's
OMG! This was your first time hearing eivør? Well, everything she does is amazing and truly top-tier. Hope to see more of her on your channel. ❤
Eivør.. pure viking echoes! 💪 The prettiest hidden treasure of our world 👌🌹
