    Definitely one of the best videos I've ever watched, great camera work and explaining everything, this was a great help in diagnosing shift solenoid (E) 3 lol, confused me if it meant electrical or what but watching your video showed me where it was and what I was looking for and how to do the job. Thank you!

    Thanks Jeremy. Using my OBD scan tool I too received a P0770 solenoid e error!
    The mechanic suggested a transmission flush. Passed my inspection with no check light...
    Few days ago, check light is back on. So I am going to check the connections. But I'll probably need to order the solenoid 3 component. Thanks for posting this video.
    I'll be sure to update if my problem was resolved. Thanks 🤙

    You're so welcome, Boca. It is entirely my pleasure. I enjoyed making the videos and enjoy even more hearing stories of saving people money. Mechanics can be so dishonest. Maybe they just don't know about the simple fix. Either way, it's good to avoid paying them thousands for unnecessary repairs.

      Do you know what the 3rd pigtail goes to? There's the lock solenoid you're replacing, the neutral switch but what is the 3rd thing above the right neutral switch bolt? I thought it was shift solenoid 1 but in the service manual it shows 1 and 2 are inside the trans above the valve body. Thanks

    Code 770 was cleared by topping off the transmission fluid. So, you might not need to do all of this. I still needed to for code 773. The tools are standard tools, like socket wrenches. Nothing fancy.

      It wasn't easy. A mechanic friend of our family pointed to the part and said to change "that part". So, I took the car home and pulled that part out. I then carried it into a dealership and said that I needed one of these. The employee and I looked at several diagrams together and eventually found it.

    You had a great 3 part video. Unfortunately the part no 85420-20110 that was suppose to replace this solenoid was not correct. The #3 Solenoid E in my 99 Toyota Camry 4 cylinder only had ONE screw bolt and a plug that had wires that went through the opening to a switch inside the valve body of the transmission.

    • @jeremyhood
      @jeremyhood  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Doug Sawyer Wow. So some year/make/models of the same car are different? That's weird, right? Sorry it didn't work for you. Is there anything I can do to help? Maybe you can take the part you do have into the dealer to get a matching new one. This car has the California emission controls on it and an overdrive gear. Maybe yours is different in that regard? If you figure it out, let me know so I can add it to the description of these videos. Or, if you need me to get a part here and ship it to you, let me know too, but I don't see how that would help. It's not like you just can't get the part. It's the wrong part. Sorry, man, but good luck.
