  • There was a time when the general store was the center of every community, particularly in small towns or in the country. You'd go to the general store to get everything from blue jeans to parts for your plow to a hot meal. Most of those places have given way to chains and big-box stores, but Tennessee Crossroads visited a restaurant that started life as a general store and still has the feel of one called Campbell Station Country Store in Culleoka, TN.

    I love the county style life and people in Tennessee so much I bought 9 acres on Indian Lake and will be retiring there in 6 years!

    Those old places are really Magnificent, need to keep them preserved, great reminder of yesteryear, always that awesome home cooking. Right here in the land down under.

    i`m honest with you Guys, i am not a very big American Fan but this is so lovely. Times stand still in these Places and you can amagine, you are protected and People takin care of eachother. Much Love from Switzerland

      This is the real America. Our politicians and those large cities are corrupt and do not represent the heart of America. This is why you see a deep and growing divide in America. People outside these cities take care of each other, are self-sufficient and well-armed. Something that these concrete dwellers just can't understand.

    I've at there many times wonderful wonderful wonderful.great home cooked meals, beans and taters, fresh friend pies.etc.highly recommend!!!

    I used to love In Tennessee, and I loved it there. I’m from Florida, and now living in it. But I am thinking about going back to Tennessee.

    For people watching this the lady with the glasses in the orange. Is a legend here in Culleoka she just recently sold the restaurant but the food was known all around as the best food in the area

    My wife and I went by a couple weeks ago. It appears this is closed now. When the scamdemic finally goes away, maybe they'll reopen. Let's hope.

    Looks so good. Would love to visit and eat some great food and look around in the store and set on the porch. It was the way I grew up on Northwest Louisiana and I miss it so much.
