Great review, Joel! Really interesting comments. gave me a real sense of the game and what's interesting about it.

I agree about two Players. It is now good at all. When I first got the game I played it at two and thought that I made a mistake with the purchase. Then I played at 3 and 4 and it completely changed my mind. It is amazing at higher player counts. Also I have played solo and it is pretty fun as well. The AI slaps you around a bit.

Good to know. I'll have to give solo a shot.

I actually thought this game is quite bad. The card mechanism is nice, but nothing you do in the game IMO is exciting.
It's a themeless point-salad where many of the actions don't really give you anything beside making you the first player, scoring immediate or EoG points or simply making you not lose automatically at the end of the game (how is that track a thing?).
There is no sense of progression, no real AHA! moves to make and sadly, at least for me, no interest in the gameplay at all :(

I understand your point, but it is because it is a very tactical game! You are always on your toes looking for everything your opponents does and react to it. You prolly prefer more strategic, long term, and satisfying end game moment game. :)
      I like both kind !
