Fun Fact: Toby Kieth was originally not going to record the song and just sing it at live events for military personnel. However, the troops liked it so much that the highest ranking officer of the Marines told him he should record the song, even that it was his duty as an American citizen to do so. He told him if Kieth wanted to contribute to the War in Afghanistan (remember this wasn't long after 9/11), recording this song was how he could do it. "The Star-Spangled Banner" might be our National Anthem, but Toby Keith's "Courtesy of The Red, White & Blue" is more like our battle/war anthem. You should see the USO tour video he did with this song; seeing how pumped our Armed Forces became was beautiful and knowing that they were being honored instead of criticized was touching.
How about " America the Beautiful" also?? I love this country, and it makes me mad and sad at the same time when I see the fools trying to cause trouble and bring down this country.
@@erikniemi145 No, I did not forget it. This song is contemporary though, and therefore, would resonate with younger generations that tend to lean more towards secular lifestyles than The Battle Hymn of the Republic which is heavily Christian-based.

I was in HS when 9/11 happened, led me to join the marine core. I can still remember getting dressed for school on the west coast and hearing on the radio that a plane had hit the trade center. Right now, more than ever, true Americans need to remember how we felt and when Toby released this song. Because we are under attack again. And to be completely honest I am more concerned about this enemy than the enemy being talked about in this song. I was in the Marines during that time, Unafraid and ready, because "they" didn't matter who just f#cked up. Let us show you who you just picked a fight with. That's how we felt. But after 20 years of weakness and my own government and culture beating down patriotism, masculinity, self pride, and pushing this division and woke narrative.... and seeing with my own eyes our strong powerful military caving to it. I am almost lost for words. The flag does fly at my home. Right above our front door shortly before the welcome mat. Just beyond that you will find Patriots who grew up in the real America. Who served and continue to serve our country and community to this very day. Thank you for this song I needed it.

My husband is a retired Green Beret who spent the last 5 years of his 26 year career as a Special Forces Battalion Medic in Iraq. Toby Keith was, and still is, a mainstay on his playlist. We had the pleasure of meeting him at a concert and he was such a great guy! He really loves our military. My dad was Air Force in Korea. My mother-in-law joined the Army when women didn’t really do that (lol..she’s a badass!) and my father-in-law was career Army. I couldn’t serve due to blindness in one eye, but I love me some military!! Thanks for spreading such positive energy for the USA.
This was told to me by a soldier from another country as we drank a beer in a corner bar. He believed what he said because he had lived it. I wrote it down because I didn't want to forget it. Other countries all agree on one thing. If they are under attack & they radio for help, they all pray it is the Americans that receive the call. If the Americans receive the call they will tell you hunker down, they are on the way. They don't ask what the situation is, chances are they already know the situation & wait until they’re there for specifics. They don’t try to figure out the best way to do the rescue, if they say they have your back & that they’re on the way, then they have your back & that they’re on the way. First you hear gunfire from 1 direction & then you hear the report of a 50 caliber, once, twice & sometimes 3 times, then silence. At this point you are sure an American sniper has either taken out the commander or sent him packing for his own safety. Suddenly gunfire will erupt again but this time it’s only the sound of American made firearms heard as they mop up the situation. Another way Americans are different than the rest of the world is when other countries soldiers lose their commanding officers they are told to dig in & wait for further orders. On the other hand the Americans go on the attack if they lose their commander. Their commanders are there to hold them back, not for their safety but for the enemies. If you injure or kill an American, they are coming for you & there is very little that will detour them from getting to you. The Americans never retreat. They may make a tactical withdrawal but that only comes after they’ve expended all their ammunition, set off all their explosives, broken their knives & lost their fingernails ripping the throat out of the enemy… But they WILL be back prepared for the long fight. While the Germans are German, The Irish are Irish, The French are French & the Italians are Italian, the Americans are all of these & more. They are the best of every country on this planet as well as the worst, often at the same time, & where the people of the rest of the world are a bit stubborn & proud of their country, the Americans take it to a whole new level. It’s like they took a little stubborn pride from each country & combined it together & while most countries pride & stubbornness is like a 1 foot thick wall 10 feet high, the Americans are a 50 foot thick wall 100 feet high.

Some think we do this out of greed or to show off but, that’s not it at all. We realized these wars really happened to line the pockets of the Bush Admins business partners? The reality is, we never needed to invade Afghanistan to get those responsible for 9/11. Iraq had literally nothing to do with it. But hey! Lets invade anyway. Add to that if the people there didn't hate us then, they most certainly hate us now. I mean how do you expect some kid that was ten when a "collateral damage" bomb levelled his home killing his whole family to react? Do you expect him to realize "oh its for the good of my country?" No, he was probably setting up IED's on US patrol routes within 5 years... I got sold the lie and joined the Army shortly after the invasion of Iraq. R.I.P. Toby Keith February 5, 2024. A true American patriot.
Just kind of adds another layer to the song, really.
How do you say no to the commandant of the Marine Corps? Glad I looked for your comment so I wouldn't repeat it.
@@shannonp1656 It's not possible. Every commandant of the USMC to date has been extremely patriotic. That's what separates them from the leaders of some other branches.
@@returningfire2037 Agreed. Toby Keith had no intention of recording that song for release. It was just for military audiences . . . Until he was asked by someone he could not say no to.

BTW, Saddam put a target on his back when he offered $30k to the surviving family of anyone suicide bombing Israel. That sealed his doom right there.

This is probably the best reaction video for this song of all the ones I've seen. I love seeing how foreigners (non Americans) react to patriotic American music.

Hi @Roxanne how are you doing. Thanks for the kind word you can contact me directly tobykeithlegend@gmail.vom
Good Luck and God Bless you and your brother.
Loved your reaction! I was a Marine Corps wife on 9/11 and I can tell you this song still gives me chills. I wish our country still understood this patriotism. 🇺🇸❤️💙🤍🇺🇸
Half us still do. Thank you so much.
Thank YOU for YOUR contribution to our freedom as a Marine wife!!!!!
Much love and gratitude to you and your husband
Most of us still do! Thank you to your husband for serving our country!
Twenty two years as a AF Spec. Ops wife and thanking you for supporting your spouse. Our job is sometimes way harder than theirs. Thank you to your spouse for his service.
If you cannot understand that differing opinions and protests are in fact understanding patriotism that is on you... that is the kind of things the brave men and women gave their lives for..... not to mention you must be too young to remember the state of the US before 9/11...
I’m so glad you understood and respected what this song meant to us Americans after 911. We love our brothers in arms in the UK. ❤️🇺🇸
Love your reaction and glad to have allies such as you. Thanks for your service from a fellow troop (20 years retired USAF).
It was my pleasure. Thank you for yours also 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Thank you for your service.
@@broncobra Well thank you, respect from people like you make it worth even more. You take care. Keep supporting those that carry the flag now.
@@omahacheddar8471 I take it you are from NE? Me too. Gothenburg.
Americans do one thing well: war. And we will pay back tenfold when someone kicks us. BUT, we want to be friends and allies. We don't wanna bring out the dogs.
Amen to that!
But lord help those that do kick us because as the lord is God someone else well raise their kids.
I love the Scottish and Irish people. I named one of my daughters Irish, that is her name Irish Coleen. I feel the same way you do for your
people as you do for us Americans. I also love your music.
One of my favorite songs, America is Great because We won't back down, you awake a sleeping giant and he'll remind you just how small you are
It’s like general Yamamoto said after the attack on Pearl Harbor we have awoken the sleeping giant
Not so sure with Biden in office! He’s Coward
@@tawnymacleod4022 true but that statement has to do with we the people not bowing down to an oppressive government
@@tawnymacleod4022 Whether an Elephant or Donkey is in office, The Lord Christ Jesus is still in Heaven on His throne!🇺🇲💪
Exactly!! Don't start nothing, there won't be nothing!
Damn! Brought tears to my eyes. Bursting with pride for the US Airforce.
This reaction brought tears to my eyes my family plays this every 4th of july and so much of the world has lost faith in America given recent events but there's a portion of Americans who believe this bit of patriotism deep down through out their American bodies and will fight for this country and our freedom everyday forever. I love my country and everything it represents.
When I see the footage of the 911 attack it still breaks my heart. Many years after September 11th my niece served in Afghanistan and Iraq. She was awarded a Purple Heart. She wouldn't really appreciate me telling that but I'm proud of her.
We thank you!
Thank her for her service!
We Americans must never forget that our power, strength, and might comes from almighty God, Amen! Praise God
Amen
Amen ....
Amein. Ever hear that there are no Atheists in foxholes? I believe that. Thankful that my father's life was spared in a foxhole in WW2 Europe.
Amen, and if we turn away from God, God will turn away from us.
We love our Scottish brothers and sisters across the pond! I love the reaction!
Thank you for this. My ancestors emigrated to America from the Netherlands in 1850. The families of all my friends have origins from somewhere else in the world. Never forget that beneath it all we are you and you are us.
I think you’re wanting to see Toby Kieth’s song American Soldier. It’s a more somber but true story about the life of an American Soldier
Yeah that's it but I have a feeling I may have heard it
As an Army veteran, it warms the heart knowing our cousins across the sea get it! Cheers!
Thank you for your service.
I'm proud to be American, I love our county.
This really was the feeling and spirt in the US after 9/11
My Brothers and Sisters in the British Services are as easy to co-mingle with as is the USMC and USArmy. I operated with the Brits many times and spent time training with them in Hereford. Love Y’all Mates!!!!!!
Thank you so, so much for your sincere interest and enthusiasm for my country when so many don’t; you just may be one of our greatest overseas’ cheerleaders, and it is greatly appreciated. It is devastating to see the US being totally destroyed from WITHIN; you give many of us just a little bit of reprieve so that we don’t forget how it used to be. Blessings to you.🇺🇸
Not to worry, fellow Patriot! 🇺🇸💪🏻 We will be BACK soon enough! ❤️
Don’t give up hope Peggy ❤️ 🇦🇺
This song makes me proud, and cry, every time!!! I hope we get back to this feeling of strength and pride one day.
Amen!🇺🇸
yall saw how demoncraps treated the national guard in d.c. and who in the heck would want to be part of that. pelosi and upchuck schumer shou]dbe slapped in the face-----------with a 10 lb sledge hamme
Wow, Toby Keith is a true Patriot! His voice is so powerful in this song!!! It's true country music too and that makes it really special to me. Love country music!
We share a lot in common with our English & Scottish cousins across the pond. Our patriotism and love of nation, along with our shared willingness to die under our flags for our country! 🇺🇸🏴🏴🏴🇬🇧
This song always makes me proud of my country... my country ain't perfect but I love my red, white, and blue...
Until the Last Shot is Fired, another great song.
*Absolutely!*
Trace Adkins sing that song.
I admire your spirit and patriotism and your obvious love of America! My late husband who was a US Army veteran would go crazy when we would play this in the car, loud and with the windows open! Don Father you are so patriotic and I love your reaction to this song and I love that you appreciate America!! Love you!!!!!
Yes you should watch Toby Keith's original "Courtesy of the Red White and Blue" video which does feature his father who had passed away a few months before Sept 11 2001. His other major military shout out is "American Soldier" but I'd also recommend reacting to "Made In America 🇺🇸 "
What I love about the other video are the reactions of the deployed soldiers. Amazing. This one is good too.
I love that you let the whole song play without interrupting, just watching you enjoy it as much as we do. The American people will die on their feet rather then live life on their knees and we will prove it whether you mess with us or our allies!!
I am proud to have served over 30 years in the US Navy. I was a young pilot during this time. I have had the honor of serving with wonderful and patriotic soldiers from multiple countries. Together we got the job done!
Thank you for your service.
WOW! I'd heard that country isn't popular in Europe. So glad to hear you like country! I love it! It really gets you moving!
Perfect song for the US of A! Much better then the woke commercials they are doing now. This shows strength. Love it!!!
"Woke" is a joke.
Properly irrelevant
I really loved how you reacted to this song. It grabs my heart as a military brat, a military wife and a military Mom. Toby just truly got it. By the way. The singers that weren't military are the singing group Home Free. They are wonderful and also very patriotic.
You are a jewel. I wish this Country still felt this way
I still do!!! There are many of us!!!
Proud of my country and our flag I lived in New York when 911 happened and still these songs make me cry to this day thank you for your videos.
My pleasure
We are a military family and got to live in England for 3 years. We traveled all around the country and our favorite vacation spots were in Scotland. We didn't want to go home!
My brother was part of that air campaign, it was amazing watching it on television, knowing he was up there.
❤❤❤❤
HELLO! Omg so when I first started this video I didn’t remember this song lol 😂 then when I heard it I was jamming out singing along. This PERFECTLY sums up our culture as a people and country. Our country was soaked in the blood of Americans both on our own home front and on others. You will see a flag on almost every street and every house. Some think we do this out of greed or to show off but, that’s not it at all. We show our American pride, we show honor to the fallen from both our own and our allies who have fallen with us, we do it to show our commitment to each other, our commitment to our communities, our commitment to our country, and most importantly our commitment to God! Loved the vid. ❤️
Thank you very much
Thank You so much you get us. I’m 73 and still stand every time I here the National Anthem even when I’m at home. I Love My Country.
I love your reaction and your accent! I may be prejudice since I have Scottish heritage. I swear I hear the bagpipes when you speak!
😂😂😂. Brilliant
I agree, the Scottish (& also the Irish) have exceptionally awesome accents.
This song always brings a tear to my eye. What the hell happened to America?
At the time I joined I was blasting Toby Keith songs and ready to go fuck up some terrorists. Over the course of my enlistment I grew a brain.
Democrats!
DJT happened
Equality instead of effort.
We're all equal, some people will not try.
Obama and Biden (or should I say Obama again? Because that is what it is.)
*The People stand for freedom. Changes requires the Peoples participation ! WWG1WGA !*
C130 gunship is the one with the chaff. She's called the Angel of Death. The other Toby Keith song you were looking for is American Soldier.
Love.the Angel of Death!
Aka the Spectre Gunship.
