Just one great performance of this live. Probably my favorite, some of the best talent in the world. And one of the absolute best percussionist ever, Ray Cooper. That man loves his job!!!!
I've heard Eric say in an interview he doesn't like to play the lead guitar in this piece because he can't play it right, and usually delegates it to another guitarist. He got it right this time. Maestro.
before this summer i didn't know of this song. but every monday, in the hotel i'm working there is a barbecue night hosted with live music. one of those modays i heard the musicians play this song and sing it. ever since this song is allways played for me on modays :D
Jimi idolized Clapton and Clapton was overly impressed with Hendrix... which came first, the chicken or the egg? (I know Clapton came first... just think about it)
even with the pick he plays the best and when mark plays it with his hands the best thumbs up if u know that mark used the fedrer guitar 2 r 3 times only and the other times he uses the epiphone guitar
I have looked for this music clip for a long time. I wanna know who the drummer was. He was just fantastic! And did they combine song from Dire Strait with Layla? Such a heavenly performance. Does anyone notice that the guitar on Eric's hands was SMOKING?????
Az ember, aki a spiritualitás útján jár szereti olvasni a kabbalisták írásait. Ezek a könyvek a környezetévé vállnak. Szeret foglalkozni velük és elmélyedni bennük. The world is going to be a sad place when these giants are gone :(
Knopfler and Clapton on guitar, doesn't get any better :)
OMG!!!! Mark, Clapton and Sir Elton John on the same stage. The world never will be the same!!
For me this is the very best arrangement of LAYLA on TH-cam. Props to all of the musicians!
it starts like Romeo & Juliet
Just one great performance of this live. Probably my favorite, some of the best talent in the world. And one of the absolute best percussionist ever, Ray Cooper. That man loves his job!!!!
I love how they all are just smiling so humbly at the final solo. :)
Mark Knopfler - Love this guy. He's a musicians guitarist.
Merci youtube de me présenter ces merveilles que j'adooore
I can actually feel his emotions towards layla his early years were good. Best guitar player ever to walk the earth.
Two of the greatest guitarists of all time.. Cream were and still are an icon.... We would not have dire straits if they had not existed.
Great music - great guitars players - great solo = Eric and Mark
They did this concert together, with Knopfler and Clapton playing rhythm for each other and Elton John playing some of his songs.
The look on Clapton”s face at 7:43 says it all.
Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton and Elton John together and the result is: brilliant!
IMHO, this is the very best performance of LAYLA!
Positively, utterly, irrefutably incredible!!!!!
I cannot BELIEVE this is the first time I'm finding this video! Simply Wow!!!
this is one of my favorite Clapton solos.
I've heard Eric say in an interview he doesn't like to play the lead guitar in this piece because he can't play it right, and usually delegates it to another guitarist. He got it right this time. Maestro.
Such a great version, what a group!!
A concert with a mix of music from all of the three artists. They also played some Dire Straits songs and some Elton John songs.
I would love to see Elton John, Eric Clapton & Mark Knopfler in concert together!! I say it would be fantastic!!!
Are you still alive?
before this summer i didn't know of this song. but every monday, in the hotel i'm working there is a barbecue night hosted with live music. one of those modays i heard the musicians play this song and sing it. ever since this song is allways played for me on modays :D

EVERY musician wants to get in on Layla at some point.
Incredible Guitar playing. On par with Jimi Hendrix. Seriously.
Jimi idolized Clapton and Clapton was overly impressed with Hendrix... which came first, the chicken or the egg? (I know Clapton came first... just think about it)

Alan Clark..a great keyboardist. No wonder Knopfler let him go.
