    One of my all time favorite comments of yours on the Cannonball, was when your were riding the 40 miles of washboard road and said “what kind of a sick f**k would plan this route”? I was truly LMAO. That route looked like a true hemorrhoid buster.

    Weird but I can watch your content and thoroughly enjoy it…. but these are the kind of roads I ride miles out of my way in the UK to avoid. I guess I just like the company 😂

    I hear Affinity is a competitor to Adobe. A one time purchase.

      Thanks for the tip! I'll check it out to see if it works better or easier than Davinci Resolve. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

    Once again, my cub is the only vehicle I have right now. My one car is in the shop and this should be the last time for a while. I gave my other card to my little sister and I got a flat in my electric bicycle tire the other day so I ordered a tube and the tools to fix it. In my two stroke of bicycle is not quite finished yet. Technically, I have a regular bicycle but for my work convenience it’s not really practical then I guess I always got my feet. But she still there and she’s like I’ll take you to work. I’ll do it.

    Yep, i'm using Davinci and really like it, i ended up getting the full version, couldn't get over the yearly fee for Adobe....

      Yep, I'm ready to make the switch as well. I'm still learning the workflow in Davinci and looking for good effects and transitions that are analagous to the Premiere counterparts. Old dog, new tricks... let's see if I can learn something. 😉👍 --QM

    Really looking forward to the video you were thinking about making about the timing chain and tensioner I think it was recommended to be checked around maybe 10 to 15,000 miles I got a little ways to go and do you know if it’s an automatic tensioner I’m pretty sure it is for mine. I’m really thinking I want to just keep it stock. I want to keep it as reliable as possible.

    I have the same milk crate bungy cord set up on my Cub. It works fantastic and fits the look of the bike too.

      Is it possible to get a crate on the stock rack?

    • @honestlion17
      @honestlion17 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @alechall7082 That's what I have is the stock rack. I purchased mine from Lowe's.

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @alechall7082 Yes, the factory Honda rack will support a 4-gallon milk crate just fine. I secure the crate to the rack with 4-6 heavy-duty zip ties, which have about as much tensile strength as the bike's weight. 😉👍 --QM

    Trying again, can you refer me to where and how much you found that middle gas tank you have on your Honda Cub? Perhaps refer me to any video you introduced it?
    Than you,
    Rolf

    • @QuasiMotard

      That red tank in the center is a jerry can. It's one of only two "Neil tanks" in existence! I have one on my Cub, and a friend of mine, Adrian, has the other one. Our buddy, Neil, custom fabricated those tanks and mounting cradles for us before we left on our 10K-mile cross-country trip for the 2021 Scooter Cannonball Run.
      They hold about 1.3 gallons of fuel, but they aren't plumbed into the main fuel supply. We used them as emergency fuel supplies and as transfer tanks during our extended road trip. You can see it in action here: th-cam.com/video/NYjmV7FqLOM/w-d-xo.html . If you're really interested in obtaining one of those, Neil might be persuaded to fabricate a few more (he mentioned that he still has the forms and welding jigs for the project). Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

    Hello, did you up the final gearing on the cub?

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I installed a Kitaco 15T front sprocket shortly after I got my Cub back in 2019. You can watch the full installation and testing video here if you're interested: th-cam.com/video/H0-aQ-QNYHs/w-d-xo.html . I had mixed opinions about it at first, but I'm very pleased with the upgrade for my riding chores.
      Top speed didn't increase, but overall fuel economy jumped about 15% and the lower 3 gears work "better" for me in city riding (gears pull longer and feel better matched to road speeds). The speedometer deviation is -6.25% below actual speed, so I need to add 3-4 mph at 50 mph. This Cub has 16.5K miles on it now after that upgrade without any problems. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

    Have you tried camping in the winter time before? Camping during the summer when its hot and humid doesnt make a lot of sense to me. Just sweaty and stinky and stifly especially for us riders who wear proper safety gear.

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I love winter camping, but we rarely get cold weather here in Houston. We get three seasons here in the Gulf Coast: wet, hot & wet, and HELL on Earth. I have to travel north into Arkansas or Missouri to find any weather that's cold enough to qualify as "winter". 😉👍 --QM

    I know you guys are maybe considering a support truck for the next Cannonball, but have you considered renting an rv big enough to pull a trailer?

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep, that's one of our tentative plans. We may rent a small box truck or van, but we haven't decided whether we'll pull a trailer or try to haul scooters inside the truck. Trailers can add lots of complications for the drive (e.g., tolls, parking, backing up in tight spaces, construction zones, etc). 🤔 --QM

    The rumor I'm hearing is that gangs and newcomers have been attacking the lines men that are trying to get the power back on in certain areas of Houston.

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've heard those rumors and seen some of the news stories, but I haven't seen it yet. I have a few workmates in the industry, and they haven't mentioned anything about it, so it's hard to know what's real and what's hype.
      Reportedly, Centerpoint was screwing around with the contracts and payments for emergency workers, so there were stand-offs regarding the work... no pay, no play... and that's understandable from the workers' perspectives. Centerpoint has played fast and loose with the Texas power grid for decades... lots of corruption, greed, and failure to maintain equipment properly.
      That's how the transmission towers on the west side of Houston toppled in the recent derecho. Those massive steel towers are supposed to be rated to withstand category-5 hurricanes, but they folded like toothpicks with 100-120 mph winds. Why? Aging, rusting steel that wasn't maintained or upgraded for decades. I mentioned that in one of my vlogs when I surveyed the damage, and I posited that there were probably a LOT more of those failures just waiting to happen. Unfortunately, I wasn't wrong. 😒 --QM

    Arent old folks homes suppose to have generators? I thought hospitals did

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, those facilities are supposed to have backup generators like hospitals and high-rise condos/apartments. Unfortunately, most of those generators aren't maintained or exercised properly, so they fail when they are really needed.
      For example, one of my workmates lives in an 8-story high rise near Memorial Park (a fancy & expensive area). All of the residents in the building suffered without power or water even though the property has a generator to provide emergency backup power for FLS (fire-life-safety) and water pumps. Nada, kaput, busted. Their power (and water) was finally restored on the 8th day after Beryl hit. The same story played out all over Houston with 800K+ residents without power for over 7 days. 🤦‍♂️ --QM
