Thanks for watching. This blower was thrown out, with the trash but I was able to pick It up before the truck got it. Unfortunately it looks like it was left outside in the rain.
1990's high school boys earned money with that blower, Craftsman trimmer, and Weedeater-brand lawnmowers with B&S IC engines.

If I saw this for sale in my area, I'd probably buy it. I did something strange with one I had given. I fitted a car alternator to it. Yes, it works. I used to use it as a battery charger, in case my car battery was drained. The alternator has a built in regulator, & a switch in the wiring to switch in the regulator from the warning light terminal.

Love this old blower design. We had two of this style growing up. Moved a lot of leaves and yard clippings with these.

This blower looks very similiar to my (yellow) Paramont blower. I picked that up at Builders Square when they were consolidating here in Chicago and only paid $25. Surprisingly, I bought it back in the late 1990's and I still have it AND it still runs great!

I most certainly would buy it, I love the way older equipment was made. The older stuff was made with pride and made to run. As you can see as old as this beast is still sounds great and fired right up. As always great video. Keep up the awesome content

I’d hands down buy it. Stuff like this will become rare in our lifetime as we get older which makes them more valuable but also I’d also buy it because I love older equipment. They sound different and are just cool

If I had the opportunity to purchase this for around 20 bucks I probably would. Then I would attempt to build a little cart that I could put it on and push it around instead of holding it. Great video. Now I need to fix mine. Thanks for the videos.

A friend who was given a different Weedeater blower which has aT lever non sprung throttle control had to be helped by two other men to wrestle the spring onto the starter and then put it back together.
I always liked the impeller note it made (this sounds the same) and last year I bought a Solo blower on clearance and to my joy, it makes the same note and sounds really impressive. It also happens to blow plenty of air lol.

I absolutely love the way this specific type of blower sounds, and I was shocked to hear you say the same honestly. I have the black Craftsman model, 358.797990, and it has the larger engine, the 32cc one. Not sure if you knew that but the Weedeater and Craftsman ones are extremely similar just slightly different like the kill switch position and other small things. They also had either 22cc or 32cc engine options when new. Sounds odd talking about the weight on the video, but actually owning one is WAY different when you feel how heavy it is. Built to last I believe, and you can actually get parts for it, just a lot of them aren't available. Sears has an amazing system for getting parts, and still have my model you can buy parts for although some are discontinued I guess partially get parts for haha. I don't mind the weight of these, and believe me or not the one I have out of four blowers is 100% the most powerful. These are extremely powerful, but unsure about the 22cc versions. Love when you work on older equipment like this. Sorry you've been so busy lately, especially with how many comments you get now I feel like you aren't able to keep up.

@@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE yea I have the craftsman model. One particular issue with these was the pull chord return, I ended up taking the chord recoil off and losening the bolts just a tad bit but Also making the flywheel spring a little tighter so the chord doesn’t have that issue again
I have a craftsman version of that blower its 20 years old very heavy but usefull

These older weed eater products are very well built and are basically a chain saw engine . they run good . I have two if the trimmers from the same era and they are heavy and vibrate because the trimmer head has only one string on one side but it runs great . it definitely a conversation piece .

Try soaking the spring and rusty plastic pieces in vinegar overnight. It makes cleaning so much easier. You can also cover the parts in baking soda before adding the vinegar. That works well too.

I had one of these, heavy but plenty of power and a good vac. Died and I bought an Echo bvm (in 2001) and still using it.

yes it did, it still smokes just a tiny bit, but I'm sure it's supposed to some what, since it's from a time, whens smog wasn't a four letter word.

I commented a few videos back of maybe using a cheap ultrasonic tooth brush to get inside tight spots to clean but I purchased a small hand held steamer with a very small focused nozzle tip on it. Wow that thing works great for melting away dirt and grease. The best thing is, the mower can be sprayed with degreaser then the steam . My degreaser I use is spray nine (same as 409) that is $5 on Amazon for a big spray bottle. It is my new go to for great, cheap cleaning.

I haven't seen a blower like that since being in the shop in high school... I remember when I frist started to play whit thoses little engines I frist got my hands on a little weedeater weedwacker engine.. if I remember correctly I think it was a LT model quote me if I am wrong that was in 2001

I don’t pay for equipment anymore, but I’d take it for free to learn on it. I’d also rig up some kind of webbing shoulder strap to make it more usable. I would have used JBWeld on the pull cord handle repair. When replacing pull cords I wind the spring up all the way, then back it off until the holes line up to feed the cord in or if accessible like this one with a notch then wind the maximum onto the spool. Easy enough to cut some off later if necessary, but that increases the odds that someone won’t pull hard to the end and damage the recoil in the future.

Does anybody know the carb setting for this machine please. I picked one up the other day, and they are rare over here in the uk. Rebuilt the carb but can’t find the idle and h/l screw settings.

Man I just took my carburetor apart on my riding mower and cleaned it out but now it runs like crap 😂, need to take it apart again and see where I messed up.

Had one of them. Yeah it was heavy. Ended up with the pull starter hanging out of it just like that one. Sold it for $10

How does that thing actually mulch? I suspect mulching would require a beefier engine than your typical blower and that would explain why that thing is so much larger than other blowers.
I don't know, surprising it says it's only 22 cc's, CC's must have been bigger back in the day, cause this things weighs like a 34 cc engine.
That thing is really old probably the mid 90s. Craftsman had identical blowers and they were quite crappy as I believe I burned a piston out of one by the mid 2000s. Slowly got weaker and weaker similar to the poland you showed with loose head bolts.

Correction - Outdoor Power Equipment or Lawn & Garden Distributors do not sell equipment to the general public, an independent dealer (like myself, i own a small engine shop) buy's the equipment from the distributor at dealer pricing to resell to the general public to make a profit, in some cases if the distributor don't have a product i need, i can buy it directly from the manufacturer, as contrary to belief, Big Box Stores ARE NOT dealer's they are Mass Retailers (also referred to as Mass Resellers) and they know nothing about the equipment - that is why it's always best to buy from a independent dealer, the big box stores starting with L especially always call me the ASC (authorized service center) for any equipment questions or repairs, customer's get referred to me from the mass retailers every single day. As for parts, i buy all my parts from the distributor or OEM themselves.

Because your gas is 89 octane and it’s known as marine gas, should I stabilize it to be sure I don’t sure have any ethanol in my tank? I’ll mix it properly with the oil I choose.
only if you're going to put into a piece of equipment that might see long periods of un-use. But if its your mower or trimmer, I wouldn't bother

Yes I do. Still have it and about a year in the original air filter was falling apart. Then I found the original air filter on ebay.

On a different subject. I have a toro auto choke mower. It wasn't in good shape when I got it 4 years ago.
Well, it now has very low
compression I think caused by stuck valve. I have done some troubleshooting. It is so hard to disassemble. Do you think it's worth fixing? It runs, but only starts on starting fluid, choke closed.
unfortunately, it's worth fixing ,but using it might be tougher, as it will have very little power. If you have the time, and some money, yes fix it, but If you'd rather put that money into a different project, I would go for the other instead.
Love the look and power of these blowers but hare in the UK they fetch 60 to 80£. Over there they only get 30 for them ? . Also just cleaned the wheels on both my push mowers I put wd40 on the shafts thought it was just as good as that liquid Grease you use 👍

Hell no bro! I wouldn't even bother to purchase that blower no matter how affordable it is however I think I might do the sensible thing and get a backpack blower instead😅😅

I think I would not give $10 for it but if it was in a package with a couple of lawnmowers and I was interested in the lawnmower so I would possibly end up with something like this.

I wouldn’t buy it because it’s just too dad blamed heavy! If you ever pull one until your arm falls off, I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who will put it back on for you for $50. Just something to think about.
