This song didn't stand out particularly to me back then - I enjoyed Scene Shifts There and Scattered Flowers much more... yet somehow now I find myself inexplicably attracted to the melody here. It's as if this song encompasses the entire soul and theme of the game that is "Rewrite". What an amazing piece of music...
This combined with all those CGs reminds you of the amazing journey you had throughout the story...it was simply beautifully executed and the OST adds a style of nostalgia and sadness because of you and Kotarou reaching the end of your stories...

What would be cool is at end of the anime S2 they have this full version and have a montage of scenes or clips from moments from the VN animated, not from the first season (you can include some of those too though)

I just played CANOE and Song of Passage alongside each other and the syllables match up, though SoP is slower. So yeah, I hope they're the same. Would make it easier to understand SoP
Musically, this song, the menu song (Tabi) and the song of passage, are more or less the same songs. That's one of the main things that makes key's VN sountracks so good. They choose a song or theme and echo it over and over in the different songs that appear in the novel which is very much reminiscent of an orchestral piece.
I honestly really hated this VN. It just felt like an awful mess and the final route was just a huge spit in the face after what was probably the most interesting part of the game. This song is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
