@@FIXTECHGAMING anytime man,there's a bug too with the settings. It will auto reset to high TAA Everytime you start the game so you will have to set it to medium anytime you start it up. I do this everyday. You will notice a big difference with the DOF off when set to medium, you will be able to see a clearer image of things in the distance, especially when your moving.
Really annoying that this is a problem in such a big game. It's almost the perfect game in all aspects, but then the anti-aliasing or hdr have weird side effects, and until you actually do heavy research, you really have no idea where the problem comes from. I first thought it was a problem on my monitor, so I spent hours trying to tweak it, and also tweaking the in game resolution settings and stuff
I got this problem again, the fix you showed was working but my textures are blurry/pixelated again. I went through my settings and everythings the same.

@@FsicX i found it, for some reason the TAA in this game is buggy .. it switches itself, sometimes it looks good on medium with taa sharpness completely low, sometimes it looks good with TAA high and sharpness set to 28. Basically if it looks blury ar TAA high and sharpness 28, switch TAA to medium and sharmness to 0, vice versa
Try below fix as well 1. SSAO Medium, TAA Medium, this is important. (Before changing any settings,This is in my default settings look like). 2.Go to graphics settings disable TAA and enable FXAA + MSAA, apply settings and do no return to game. 3. Disable MSAA+FXAA ,apply settings, do not return to game, enable TAA Medium. Try it. If game looks grainy then next step is to go to settings and turn on MSAA2x apply settings( you can go back to game if you want) and then again turn MSAA off and apply settings. And now return to game.

You're supposed to use the latest NVIDIA Driver. If you don't have the newest driver, install Geforce Experience and do a clean install. If it's still glitching, it's either a game bug or a driver bug. If you can't find a fix, you'll have to wait for the following driver or game update.
I figured out a good method for my 1080p setup after days of tinkering: TAA medium, FXAA on, MSAA, off. Set TAA sharpening in-game to 25. Also set resolution scale to 1.25 In Nvidia control panel set sharpening to .40 and ignore film grain to .27 You’ll still probably notice a bit of blur but it’s way better after these settings. (FPS shouldn’t tank too much). For 1080 you either get too much blurriness or too much shimmering and grainy textures. These settings are the best I’ve gotten my game to look.

@@FIXTECHGAMING I’ve decided to just go with higher resolution scale and some settings to compensate for the FPS loss. Pretty much sorted now, 1080p, I have resolution scale on 5/4, TAA medium and TAA sharpening all the way up to around 75%.

I’m having a issue I got a bran new hp omen I just installed red dead redemption 2 an the screen gets all pixelated with different colors only when If I hit the windows button or adjust the brightness of screen or volume but it doesn’t do it when I play GTA 5 pubg or battlefield 5 an battlefield 2042 they work great with no issues I’m guessing it’s a issue with red dead the laptop is literally bran new

easy method for all the noobs turn resution scale high till your game is smooth enough to play 1.5x or above turn fxaa on msaa off reflection msaa 2x or above TAA High Taa scale adjust the bar accourding to how much image sharpness you want enjoy thats it (dont change resolution scale if you have 1440p or above monitor its only for 1080p monitors) enjoy
Simple fix: delete your settings (in red dead 2 folder)then enter the game and the textures are supposed to be in ultra so if u don’t want shit texture again you shouldn't change the quality of the textures leave it in ultra. You can change everything else if you want. :)

The amount of people who don't understand that TAA is the reason the game is blurry is baffling. Just turn it off. However, because the game is bugged, you will have to turn it off every time you launch the game. Use FXAA instead and NvCP MFAA.
Everybody knows TAA is the reason why the game is blurry. You can't really turn it off, because the rendering relies on TAA to function properly. If you turn it off, sure, you'll get a sharp image, but you'll also get tons of shimmering, broken LOD transitions, broken shadow rendering, broken hair rendering, broken fur rendering, and probably more shit by turning TAA off. FXAA and MSAA won't do anything to solve these issues.
non of this work. well maybe resolution scale 1.50 or 1.75 does but you need a good gpu. i met a guy who has an rtx 4090 and a 4k monitor and this game looks like trash on 4k because the TAA is just terrible implemented in this game. anything above 30 fps breaks the taa that was made for ps4 consoles. the only option is DLAA or dlss and dldsr
with 3080 on 3440x1440 msaa x2 is my way but huge way, nearly 23 fps loss, and with your issues, all the tricks with taa, sharpening or resolution you seen here work but its the same performance with msaa x2, nearly 23/25 fps loss 63/68 fps with 100 hz screen blow up my brain ^^ all my settings on ultra and i have 80/90 fps with taa, i dont know what to do, i even try to couple mfaa with Nvidia panel for taa but i dont notice better details
I bought this game on pc for the purpose of testing my 3070ti and they couldn’t even make the game look good without 4K resolution. This game legit looks better on my Xbox one wtf
It doesn't. The game looks terrible on the Xbox One, since it's rendering at 860p and uses even lower settings than the PC version. It just looks "worse" on PC because you're close to the screen. Try sitting closer to your TV while playing on your Xbox. You'll probably get nauseous after a minute or two.
Drop your TAA from High to Medium too, it removes the horrible DOF effect you get when on High

Yes, there is a huge blurry issue with this game, especially when playing at 1080p.
Try below fix as well

Doesn’t do anything for me. Only MSAA helps but performance cost is huge. Maybe your eyes just don’t see the blurriness lol

The game looks good but kills fps from 65 to 40-45
Turn off MSAA 2x and use TAA Medium with FXAA on and install Reshade and Absolute Correction Shaders for RDR2

play on 4k lmao, it looks WAYYYYY better than msaa set to x2 and the performance is the same
