  • Ethan shows how to replace a broken upper wheel bracket on his 14" bandsaw. The same process can be used for most standard 14" bandsaw like Jet, Grizzly, King, Powermatic, Delta, Rockwell, Beaver, Elephant, Rigid, Portercable, General International etc.

Thank you so much. I was about to give up on my Jet 14" and just bought a Delta 14" only to realize that it had the same bracket. I'll be ordering a part for sure.

I just purchased that exact C.I.I. 14" bandsaw at a garage sale last week. Was disappointed to discover that the upper wheel tension bracket was seized - something I did not discover until the saw was at home and I was attempting to change the blade. The bracket essentially had to be broken to remove it. A replacement part is already on the way, and this video will assist with the repair when it arrives. Thanks!

The tension adjusting screw on my 30+ y.o. Delta 14" bandsaw stripped out, and the part is no longer available. It's easy to make your own replacement. I had a 3' length of 3/8" threaded rod (16 pitch thread) sitting around, and it worked perfectly. Made a handle out of some scrap Cherry, and voila! Didn't cost me a penny.

Just picked up a free AMT 14 in band saw with the slider bracket broken clean off. Will be milling a new one versus buying one.

Would this fit the 16 inch version of many of these saws? Just acquired the "Reliant" one on the side of the road. Pretty good other than this part being broken!

Finally..... MY SAW!! I hope this helps :D
    EDIT: yep.
I took the thing apart, and realized the previous owner had broke the tension part where the screw hits... so replaced it with a Simpson Strong Tie bracket
It failed. Off to get a new part!

Hi Ethan, I have two questions but first thank you for the video. I was about to give up on my saw. Can you ship to Cape Town, South Africa too? Do you perhaps also stock the riser kit for these bandsaws, or even point me in the right direction? I look forward to hearing from you!

Good video. Where did you source the part with the hinge and rod - you had it in your hand I believe. Txs

I have a Craftex CT015 bandsaw and my sliding bracket is broken. I was wondering if the part from the 14" models would fit? Apparently the Grizzly, King, Jet and a few others were all the same build back in the day but I can only find these brackets listed for 14" models?

You can actually replace a broken hinge without destroying the bracket. If you use a strong magnet (like rare earth magnets), you can remove the pins from the bracket and release your broken hinge easily. I was given a 14" band saw identical to the one you have and only had to replace the hinge (about a $20 US part).

I have a broken hinge that I am researching getting parts for... wonder if you could cut the hinge to free the pins and save the bracket as another option? I was thinking of using a dremel with a cutoff wheel

If you can’t find it through stockroom supply, Grizzly sells a part that I believe fits. I’m pretty sure it is the same part for several of their 14” bandsaws.

Ethan I have an old delta 14 inch bandsaw. I lost the ("pin"?) that holds the motor driven wheel which turns a belt. The wheel slides on a bar, and this bar has a slot where this pin goes into, to hold the wheel in a place. I'm a novice wannabe woodworker and I can't find this small metal part. I call it a pin because I don't know the name of this small piece.
Hope someone can tell me what this part is called and where I can purchase it. Thanks.

Hi Ethan, Having sent you three emails to the email address from your reply below there has been no reply to my request for the parts that I require to repair my bandsaw, surely someone there would either email me about supply etc or inform me one way or the other, I am so disappointed that I have had to come back to this site to try and make contact, could you please advise as to either you can help me or not.
