😅Setbacks:
I am only showcasing the firearms only. There are a lot same model weapons, between Battlefield 2042 & Portal, so I will show them once. Also, I couldn't show the hidden reload animations. I sit for 15 minutes straight with the M16A3 & PBX-45 and I couldn't get them, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯....

One thing BF2042 did that I wish COD had done is that they really didn't change that much when it came to weapon models and just changed the name of them but the animations are really rough especially on the AKS-74U or any of the other portal weapons
Activision got hit with a lawsuit for the Humvee models and since then they have been obsessed with creating hybrid models of guns and vehicles
Some portal weapons are decent. Most of the “base game” reloads are usual battlefield quality
At least the reload animation of Evolys is accurate to real life counterpart.

Yeah, I seem to be enjoying it more than MWII since buying both MWII at launch (pre-ordered the Vault Edition mainly for the FJX Cinder weapon vault & a free battle pass) & bought BF2042 during S4 & when it is on sale for somewhere around $15-$20. About the best deal as I can get for the game's current state!
On the animation side, I like COD animations better (Including MW2019 & MWII), but I do hope BF2042 pre-season-season 3 weapons get some animation rework in the future.

@@elite-forcecinema7047 I think the state of it is good, incredibly fun. I find myself sometimes having more fun on it than Mw3, but that's mainly since I play it for fun vs Mw3 where I play competitively.
The gunplay is fair, the graphics are beautiful, movement is good, and content is fun.
The only good thing going for MWIII is the zombies mode. Even then it’s a far cry from what it should have really been (An interesting take nonetheless).

No one really pointed out the rails used in 2042, basically an older version and pioneering rail called the Weaver Rail. Though created in the mid 30's it still fits on todays modern weapons, commonly seen on S&W revolvers. Still I'd love to see this with rifles than just today's standard picatinny rail.

See I don’t know is it true or not but they have stopped using real names for guns is that there were a lot of parents were complaining and protesting against Activision that they were teaching kids what are these guns and used it to kill other children and in fear of losing lawsuits. So they chose an other route that was using fake names for guns. (Btw these protests and complains were made when there were high levels of school shootings).

This game had one of the roughest AAA launches ever, only beaten by Cyberpunk, but the game is… fine, I guess now. The animators have also improved. They went from ‘unpaid intern’ to actually good animators.
There is no redemption for whoever made the MP40 and Sten animations. The MP40 also looks closed bolt in game.

The most inconsistent fps when it comes to the quality of reload animations. On the one hand, you have guns like M5A3 or the Avancys that have really REALLY well made animations...
Then there's whatever that abomination-looking AKS-74U is, and almost all of the portal guns like, WTF?!??
From what I remember, almost all of the portal animations were outsourced to another studio, and Dice later touched up on some of them.
The ACR in BF3, 4, and 2042 use the 6.5 Grendel btw, which holds 26 rounds. The Serbu in 2042 is based on the Mossberg 500. Also you can turn off the UI completely with the Frostbite console, just type UI.DrawEnable 0 (0 to disable UI then 1 to reenable it).

Hey mate, the AC-42 is actually based of a custom Tar-21 airsoft gun.
It's a hybrid between TAR-21 w/ Manticore Furniture and Thales F90, however, in game description stated that it's in Russian Origin
Now you would be correct, if they didnt state it wasnt modelled on the airsoft gun, which they did ages ago. @@v12ts.gaming

I like the weapons of the Second World War in Portal visually, a WW2 Battlefield would have been fantastic but with an immersion like in Battlefield 1 if not greater. Not like Battlefield V even if it had some good things.

Honestly, Battlefield 2042 has better variety than recent CoDs imo, alongside better, more realistic models. Animations though are pretty mid overall

Tbh lack of content isn't exactly a problem in this game, because it have a good amount of vehicles and guns, the main problem is the overall quality of the game, the animation are awful

All the animations in this game look so unnatural, too smooth and too jerky at the same time, like how a robot would reload. Even the 3rd person soldier animations look unfinished, you’re soldier walks like so straight the entire time like you have a stick up your ass.

They feel extremely lack laster. Zero sense of urgency. Especially emergency reloads. Hate COD or not the reloads they implemented look and feel good. Like the M16 reloads the guy smacks the guy like he’s afraid he’s gonna hurt it and not like his life depends on the bolt getting sent forward asap.
