I want to make video tutorials using one microphone and screen capture. the screen capture is a piano performance using Midiculous software and synthesis for keys and sounds from a Casip Piano . Camtasia 2024 is not showing system audio. Can you please help. I am from India and 74 years. Thank you
Yes! If you've got Camtasia 2023 the first effect under the Visual Effects tab is "Background Removal." Just drag that onto your footage. (Especially if you follow the tips Andy provides in this video).
Hi Andy, Your videos help me a lot. I have had a restaurant management channel since 2012. All made by Camtasia. Recently, your guidance on studio setup for those who wear glasses helped me a lot. Your video about removing the back ground is very clear. But it appears that you don't use a webcam to make the video. I use Logitech's Brio 4k webcam, an excellent camera. Can you make a video on background removal using a webcam? Kind Regards Carlos
Hey Carlos, these principles all still apply with whatever camera you use, whether it's a webcam, an iPhone, or a high-end DSLR/mirrorless. The most important thing will always be your even lighting. Get that correct, and the camera will matter a lot less. -Andy
@@techsmith yah but it was very useful tool, if again it’s brought back that would be awesome tool, features should not be eliminated when the new versions are introduced.
@@redlast-jt7xb It's not recent, that was many versions ago that it was taken out. Not sure of future plans right now, but in the mean time we do have Sketch Animations under the Annotations tab that recreate the same effect.
Very helpful! Which do you think is a better option to remove backgrounds using Camtasia - these methods, or a green screen? I can't rid of the green halo around me with using the green screen - thanks!
If you're struggling to remove the green halo, then background removal is a better option most likely. It is an AI feature, and is improving with increased use over time, so if you can get onto a plain wall with even lighting on yourself separate from the wall, you should find the improvements noticeably better.

Thanks for the suggestions, I've forwarded this list on to our developers. One of those does already exist: Chromas Key in Camtasia is called Remove a Color and you can find it in the Visual Effects panel. Once added to the clip, in the Properties panel, you can select the default green and use the color picker to select your exact color.
@@Mohim_Mohim Add your clip to a Group (by itself), apply Remove a Color to the group. More of a work-around than a real solution, but it works for now.
You can! If you want to export a frame from a video as an image you can put the playhead where you like the frame and go to the File/Edit menus, and under "Export" you should see "Export Frame As" and you can create a .png or .jpg from there.
