I get that for some there is a lack of compelling lore for Bretons, especially in Skyrim but there seems to be an irrational hatred of the medieval European aesthetic in ES community. Not every land can have mushroom towers and crab hut otherwise they'd be mundane plus the medieval architecture just looks pleasing. It's not like the architecture of Skyrim was outstanding.
I think for some there is a lack of variety but that's just a matter of not having a modern game in High Rock. If ES6 is set in High Rock then there will be a great opportunity for castles which I think people will really love considering the only castles in Skyrim were old rundown ones in DLC and a few large forts.

If Bethesda does it right, people hopefully won't complain about castles and medieval stuff at all.
Like, have you _seen_ the really cool mediaeval castles? Sure, crab hut is dope, but don't discount well-made classic castles. Especially if they add some colour to them like they had in real life.
That, and I think *I AM A VALIANT KNIGHT HUZZAH* could easily replace the *I AM STRONK NORD FUS RO DAH* as a compelling character to use for advertising.
Honestly I feel like the "classic medieval" look for as common as it is, is often not executed to its full potential. Especially not the classically romanticised (in the sense of actual artistic history romanticism) aspects.

Something to considered for the reason European aesthetic being disliked, is that majority of the community are westerners; and while these European aesthetic are mundane to you guys on that side of the world. Someone like me, who did not grew up with the same culture and media, European aesthetic are much more interesting. Breton became my favorite culture to explore because it was foreign to me.
There's a reason so many people from my country have "visiting Europe" in their bucket list, with TV show revolving arounds tourism of European countries being very positively received by the audience.
Contrasting this with the fact that I don't think Thai food or temples are anything special despite a massive majority of westerner who found out I was from Thailand always goes on and on about them.
What you are familiar with plays a huge role of dictating what is exotic or mundane to you. It's not a surprise that Skyrim fanbase, majorly people living in western culture, would find Breton dull and boring.

I still think the major issue with the Bretons is that it feels like they gave them the medieval aesthetic because “someone has to have it”. I really like how ESO’s lore has spent time really leaning on WHY they are like that and what makes that unique to them. I know on the surface the Bretons are based Medieval Europe. More specifically Franks/French. Which I have heritage with amongst others. However, I do remember the Celtic influence back during the early games before they became more French than Celt. Including names. With that said, I like the idea ESO was going for with the Reachmen. They feel like remnants of the original idea for the Bretons. But still as their own people with a sliver of shared blood with the other inhabitants of High Rock. Makes me wish we saw non-hostile tribes/clans in certain parts of the province. Maybe even an example Bretons and Reachmen mixing blood and culture here and there from trade and other relations between both peoples.

As someone else said below, Tamriel's unique climates and cultures offer variety and exploration, but in my own opinion, that only works with a strong foundation in what is familiar and borderline realistic. The fun of exploring Vvardenfall comes from a strange, new environment compared to the normal, more medieval atmosphere of High Rock in Daggerfall. But it is a very important foundation to have, as the realistic fantasy vibe never dies out or tires, There's a greater sense of wonder and adventure as a Breton Ranger traveling from High Rock, across the Deserts of Hammerfell, through the Forests of Valenwood, over the Sands of Elswyer, through the swamps of Black Marshs, and into the otherworldly landscapes of Morrowind, rather than just going from one "planet" to another.

Bethesda may get crud for the simple aesthetic of bretons, but if they can keep that background theme simple, that gives them way more time to focus on what would make The Elder Scrolls Six a great game; things like battle mechanics, crafting mechanics, magic systems, quests, polotics, daedric interference, the dragons' return, and the upcoming possible invasions of the aldmeri dominion. Upon this simple, stereotypical mideival background, they can have the time to make skyrim's true sequel.

To be fair, Dunmer/Chimer weren't much better in that regard (war and betrayal is written within their culture and history) and the Thalmor purge wood elves and practice Eugenics (though that admittedly, is a biased source). An then the Maomer had a firm beef with the Altmer, though that was years ago.
The only real win the Elves have over the races of Men in regards to violence, is that they generally don't jump to genocide to solve their problems.

True, the Dunmer/Chimer left the Aedric Elven Gods, and went off to be seduced by the Daedra (poor Trinimac tried to stop them, but unfortunately failed) The Orcs aren't too bad either, except the raiders who pillage/kill innocents.
As for the current Thalmor, yeah it sucks they're killing off Bosmer who aren't 100% down with their ideals. As for the Eugenics, I don't think they kill 9/10 babies, that's definitely biased/propaganda.
I do think, they do practice some Eugenics, and I believe they likely only kill babies with deformities, like dwarfism, missing limbs or the likes.
Which, to be fair, is an argument even in our real world today as well, to see whether it's moral or not, or if we're ending any future suffering for the poor baby.
If the Altmer did this, and some other Elves, I wouldn’t be surprised. But the Mer have great biology, so I imagine it's a rare occurrence for their offspring to be, well, deformed as often as that.
But yeah, Humans, especially in Merethic and 2st Era times seemed to jump to full Genocide instead of anything else.
The Redguards invaded Hammerfell, slaughtering all. The Atmorans killed all Snow Elves they could find, all for a single settlement which, for all intents of purposes, may or may not have been a massacre (don't know if the Snow Elves took Prisoners, Ysgramor wasn't at Saarthal when it was Sacked). And the Nedes from beforehand were still totally fine, going so far as to even help some of the Snow Elves like in Mirtil Angoth's predicament.
(Which means Bosmer and Falmer were 2 Elven races who didn't actively hate humans)
The Imperials slaughtered the Allied Aylieds who aided their people and Allesia just a century earlier, etc.
Elves don't seem as keen on Genocide, which you'd think they would considering the likes of the Aylieds or Dwemer, and yet, they never went ot of their way to do it.

The only other notable Bretons I'd say are Jauffre, head of the Blades, and obviously the Ascendant Lord for his power (though I guess he's not technically confirmed as a breton yet). Honorable mention goes out to King Edwyre during the Warp in the West as he played a major role in dethroning Jagar Tharn, one of the greatest threats to Tamriel. Dude could maneuver around Helseth politically too which is no easy feat.

As the Imperial Armor was clearly Roman, but missing the Architecture. Which was replaced with Aylied Ruins and White Gold Tower. MJY Roman Resources were supplied to Morrowind, but sadly not used.
