My favorite part was when "if we take this long for all the classes, this is gonna take like seven hours" was called.
Thank you for the content, unironically would be great to see these every big update to get a "State of the Game" for every patch. As the game gets older it's nice to go back and see what the state of the game was and how classes were performing and how opinion (personal and public) shifted for each class.
I think the intro touches on this a bit where CTene is just not a big deal anymore because every main will blow it up. However Grandis bosses become more important and their performance there matters way more, but as future patches come and we get even stronger and more bosses release it's a good idea to have this sort of time capsule to see how classes were performing.
I will love to see you make Tier Lists for ANYTHING related to maplestory classes. It's the single most useful thing for a new player like me to have relevant tier lists that compare the classes together.
As a person who just installed the game for the first time, this has been great to listen too while trying out new characters/ getting into the feel of the game. Most well done tier list of any game I have played. Thanks!
Im sharing this everywhere. Such great stuff and love the indepth explaination of each class. Grabted its hard to know everything about everclass especially between a few peoplle but U guys clearly have a lot of of knowledge and experience. Some classes such as adele i feel like are overlooked here but still solid 10/10 vid

As a Khali main I agree with it being mid, but there is some priority with the dpm/combo. I.e. you would prioritize popping out split/fury for damage, and waiting for 4-6 chakris for sweep for a basic idea. You have to spend time holding down your hold down skill to get out more blitz.
This was so much fun to listen to when it was streamed. I do wish you guys quickly mentioned Mercedes origin skill since I was curious what the general opinion on it was.

@Duky Do yall know where you would place CM post dreamer?
i think when dreamer update comes out it will help bring open new party combinations and new ideas from using the profile switching. like if you have a class that brings a PDR de-buff to a boss then theoretically you could add that class to your boss party and have the other 5 members reallocate some of their PDR into more boss % or ATT/M.ATT for extra DMG because of the PDR de-buff. It probably wouldn't end up being encumbering because of how easy and nice you could switch between setups after the dreamer update.

illiums ball not being boosted has no cons. the jav and ball are simply a trigger for the reaction skills. the balls dmg does not dictate the dmg of the reaction skill.

Hi, I'n having as a bishop difficulty with lv 90+ mobs and idk what I'm doing wrong. Could you give me some pointers? I already enhanced a weapon lv 85 I found to its max
Bishops tend to be weak early on. I'd always recommend building skills in the order of passives that provide attack power, then the main mobbing skill, then lastly any type of HP/Abnormal resistance passives for 3rd job.
For more damage the "passive" way: turn on all link skills. Good link skills and a higher legion should help you 1 shot.
Adding more damage: 1. Afterlands quest lv 85 for the totems, boosts your range by 20-30% at that level, so it's worth it, 2. Monster Park potion acquired through going to monster park and clearing the dungeon 2 times a day. 3. If you find in chat "MVP MS ch 7, xx:03", go to mushroom shrine channel 7 before the clock strikes minute 3 no matter which hour/time zone you live in. There you will receive EXP buffs, and usually attack power buffs. Fame MVPer by double click/right click their character (preferably) OR fame a person on a 250/275 trophy-looking chair for attack power buffs.
In general for boosting damage output: focus on critical rate legion and link skills. Crit rates[(Marksman Legion/Link 140/120, Night Lord Legion 140, Phantom Link 120, 3 Bowmen Link (MM,Bowmaster,Pathfinder to 120 each)]. Then critical damage [Kinesis Link 120, Hayato Legion 140, Shade Legion 140].
I was enjoying the video, your in depth views on each class and how it plays and how it stacks up against other classes.
What everyone watches stuff like this for, is to see what insight you have to say about their class. To not even talk about Beast Tamer as a whole right now because it's becoming Lynn in May is crazy. That is like a few months away, in GMS. Every single person I talk to tells me what a horrible class it is but it has so much utility that it's hard to overlook. Yes, it has a lot going on if you try to focus on every single animal but you keep getting skill points until 250 so you have plenty of points to make it all work the way you want it to, the Beast Tamer/Lynn discord is very active. How you play the class in entirely dependant on whether you just want it for a mule or whether you want to main it. Maining it is all about unlocking all the passives for each animal so that when you buff up for burst, you have your whistle and it gives you everything you want from each animal. I just enjoy the class so much and I want people to know why it's good. It's not good in every scenario no, but end game as you said is all about party play. Support is really good with Cat mode, everyone asks me for Gold card because I have the Buff duration and that damage is really useful in getting people through at least P1. What other class gives drop rate in their abilities? Not having to rely on the V matrix for an is great and if you do need an extra in Lotus or something else, it's there. I know we didn't get a 6th job and that should be taken into account, but I do feel like they have to be planning to compensate us in some way because we're going to be so much further behind than everyone else. Just trying to spend the last moments I can enjoying the class I fell in love with until they completely change everything I've learned about how to play my class and how to solo my bosses.

as a side comment im really glad you guys acknowledged xenon so high. I dont personally play it but the amount of people who downplay the class due to the "funding" it needs is so rough. it's very exaggerated, cubing for all stat isnt that much higher than going for 3l stat, and you can easily settle 2l all, 1line dex/str/luk until you get to that minmax point. not to mention the amount of flames you can settle on. this game so ez bro...

adele has had 2 kalos solos so far, mine wasn't recorded but albies has done one. we are difficult, but sad to see we're so low comparatively lmao. I also wanna say most of us adeles aren't really into solo play so thats probably why we're not really showing off a lot of solo's of bosses
question how NL end up A tier....does it require 22 stars gear to perform well ? because so far its been super bad for me compare to a few of my other 210 you added to Tier 3...9k legion/lvl 32 Artifact....almost full AbsoLab gear on my NL and its doing awful(2.6M CP)...CRA 17 stars..AbsoLab pieces 15 stars...Ilbis ofc.....Marksman, Corsair, Khali feel good(dunno why Tier 3).......no idea why Mechanic is Tier 1 either....been performing awfully for me for that one as well..... Wind Archer haven't play since like 7.5k legion(been rotting XD) but felt alright back then.....other classes seem well places i think and if memory isn't failling me

I tend to do all three of the themed dungeons back to back starting at level 30: ellinel fairy school, sun beach, and riena strait. If you're burning that should get you really close to level 90 at least and they're fairly quick to blaze through
@@pyguy7 thanks for the tips, I really like these themed dungeons, such an easier way to level up compared to how it was before, some classes are really bad to farm (like luminous before lvl 100)
Now I'm doing better, for the first time I have a character above 200 lvl (224), chose a battle mage as main, having a lot of fun.
I have levelled like 8 link skill/legion characters and I'm studying up on 5th job and potentials, bossing and such.

Instead of tier list maybe you can make a sheet that assess all performance of a class like farm 1-10, solo bossing 1-10, dps1-10, burst, support,utility,difficulty(how many keys you need to press), overall,etc

I like defense and mobility in every game I play and I asked AI which class has both and it said Mihile. I have never played this game, but I was going to choose Mihile.
The difference between 29 and 30 frenzy doesn't exist in heal locked bosses, and it's not hard to fight at low HP either because heal locked fights have low damage attacks. DA is pretty good in heal locked bosses because it can bypass the rules. It's probably the easiest class in those bosses if you're not running heal fams.
Also idk who else doesn't know this, but both KMS DA's who soloed normal Kaling used 29 frenzy, not 30. Kalos is hands down the only boss where it's bullshit to go 29.

Started maining a Khali recently. And it really is a chore. I will say, the mobbing is fantastic. It doesn't feel as boring as F/P mage. So the effort is there. The burst damage is "fairly" high when you get decent gear. All daily bosses are basically 1shot for short cooldown burst(mostly just popping a single ability). Long cooldown for me at job 5 is around 2 minutes. With 4.1m buffed range, one full abilility burst can push like 25-40b(depending on crit chance). Low tier weekly bosses are able to be soloed. Can solo 2-CRA, CZAK, HMAG, HHilla, CPinkBean, and cygnus normal. So bossing is rough. Chaos Pierre is doable with the right patience. I just don't have it for his mechanics. Haha. I will say, i've spent about 20b mesos getting my gear to this point.(over the course of 30-45 days) I crafted everything myself besides one or two pieces maybe. So i've been trying to keep it as cheap as possible withought spending real money to buy premade gear for billions+ on AH. Even geared, Khali is pretty squishy. Low health numbers, and low defense. Link skill is decent with a flat damage% increase, and a free heal every 30 seconds. I'd say it's worth at least getting to 200 just for the flat damage%.
The best thing about Khali is that it isn't boring. I personally like how much attention you need to pay to play Khali. It's a fun and engaging class that forces you to learn a good rotation for mobbing, and bossing individually. It's movement is top tier to be honest. I can leave NL players in the dust. Clearing maps happens very quickly with the right sequence of ability usage. I'm fast as fuck boi! 🤣Lore is pretty in depth, and it feels like a lot of effort was put into writing it. I still find my ADHD brain skipping cuscenes though. Food for thought?
Overall, i'm pretty inline with a tier 3 rating. Maybe even teatering on the line of tier 2. If you've been thinking about making a Khali to try out, you most likely won't regret it! It won't Solo everything unless you put 100's of billions of mesos into gear, but you'll have fun playing it!

how is hoyoung's origin not good? i just tested and its 25% alone on a 40sec ba. i guess if you're mega juiced and capping lines it might be different. but 25% fd is huge
40s BA is not a good way to measure your skills anymore. Almost every origin skill is like 1/3 of your damage or more when you’re doing a 40s ba
@@Duky alright i did an actual comparison: 35T/50T normal/origin, is that not a lot? I had always heard we had one of the burstier origins which is why im so surprised you guys think the opposite.

I play Dawn but i feel like i should give Battle mage a shot see how it feels since the comparison was made
It's not really similar unless you consider every class that mostly spams a button to do damage as similar. They just have support that interferes with each other and BAM is better.

Very cool tier list. Not sure about Battle mage to be tier 0 since I don't have it to be 6th job yet. BM's mobbing rotation is kind active though since you have to place summons every minute and the main attack skill has very short range too, even shorter than Bucc. Bossing early on is weird too since there are a lot summons you have to place done which doesn't work well with moving bosses.

1. i think you’re heavily sleeping on gecko moria

i just came back to maplestory after a long ass break, and decided that my main on Hyperion will be Khali from Fresh start, discouraging to see her so low, but the class is so fucking fun that I don't care :) ill probably be regreting my choices after i develop carpal tunnel from grinding the 200+ levels but super mobility and large flashy attacks baby!
if you enjoy the class it doesn't matter. all classes are viable
Khali is pretty solid from my view point....only downside is you want Arcane Umbra Hat for -4 sec cooldown for Hex skills for a mega dps upgrade(so can't rly invest into cube for CRA helm(feel like a waste of mesos to try for it on CRA helm)....still perform quite well even without that though..praticly my main char atm..does better than my Kinesis....Kinesis downside is that mobile bosses move out of the train,dots zones and out of the death ball thing.....also non-burst dmg not too amazing on Kinesis :S...Kinesis is mostly a super burst dmg class......well sixth job might improve Kinesis non-burst when new core get release..wait and see i guess XD........well i'am not among the top 1% of players but i think i make the cut for top 8-10%......so the top players base world is likely very different from me... well that....oh and Khali isn't difficult to play its a middle ground class in term of difficulty....if you want brutal classes for carpal tunnel i recommend the following(hardest to easiest to play among the harsh classes)----> Blaster---> Hayato--> F/P Mage---> Evan--> Lara---> Adele---> Illium---> Ark---> Luminous--> I/L Mage---> Corsair...... think thats all the ones worth a mention if you wish to suffer :3
As an Adele main with a bucc side main. Adele is harder but better if you master it. Adele is tier 1 if you are a pro Adele.
Lara should been higher imo, I enjoy maining her. Has everything, might not do the much dps as others but definitely still okay for nkalos. Tier 4 hurts lol

Are we putting to much weight on Sol Janus? The amount of frags required to hit lvl 30 where it really comes to life is significant enough to cut out a large portion of the playerbase. It would require a significant amount of time before Sol Janus can really be used as a metric imho.
phantom burst only hits 1 target and locks to highest hp. Its a trash burst

@@Duky from what ive heard theyre better as a solo bosser than in parties due to burst time being so short. Would you recommend i just stick with a Khali(29k stat) to LIB or push an AB(22k) to LIB?
