Thanks for featuring a classic. My first HF rig was a TS450AT. Still have it. Works like a charm.

I got a TS-430S too it needed a little TLC so my friend in our club & just tuned up & fixed it for me. I had to get a new meter for it. it puts out 134 Watts on 80m, 40m & 20m & 110 Watts on 10m.

That was fun working you while watching on TH-cam Steve. You really need to update your operator database! You brought up my call "N8HI" and it showed "Francis" at an APO address...that data is at least 2 years out of date as I'm the new holder of that call sign. 73, Doug N8HI

Awesome video, cool deal putting the old 430 in the limelight! I have a TS-430 that I just recapped and did the LED meter light conversion, it has been doing me great since the recap. I also recapped my dads TS-440 which was having issues before, it is doing him great as well! I have subscribed and look for more videos like this!

Can you be more specific about the recapping and other work you did? Did you recap all the elctrolytics? Any of the other caps? How much work/trouble was the reconditioning? Was it worth the effort? I was given a TS-430S with a PS-430 power supply, SP-430 external speaker, and MC-60 desk microphone, all with minimal external wear. The receiver has audio, can change bands, and change frequency, but it can't receive anything. I assume it has the standard dirty relay contact problem at a minimum. I don't yet have a transmitting antenna or a dummy load, so I have not tried to transmit. I am now retired and have upgraded my license, so I have time and want to set up an HF station. (The last time I had an HF station was in high school.) It has been a long time since I've had a soldering iron inside a radio, but I'm not afraid to try. I just don't want to make things worse, particularly if some problems are better addressed by a professional repair shop. Thanks!

Too bad I missed this live. I would have made a contact with my TS -430s. Mine was thrown in on a package deal when I bought my FTDX10 from a local ham.

Gosh Steve...you got all the kickass Top of the Line Ham Radios. I prefered the TS-430S over the 440's. But my really favourite one of these Days back then was the TS-140S / 680S with 50Mhz. I am still looking around to find me a TS-430S in proper working Condition and a cosmetically nice Shape. They are hard to find. Most of them looking pretty scratched on the Outside and need to be fully serviced because of their Age no one has done it over all those Years, just using the Radios and no caring much for them. But yours looks really nice as far as my old Eyes can see that. Another Keeper forever and for always. Same as your TS-570D (G). Tnx for this neat Livestream. Happy mid of the Week Day & 73 de YFUG from southwest Germany 💯💣💣💣😨🙋‍♂

It's on all platforms and is a "light" logger. I use it on macos, Linux, and android. Originally designed for POTA and has awesome POTA activator and hunter features. Have fun!
