If you compare other comprable refrigerators most of them are bigger. It's shocking how they got this so compact with a battery and ice maker with that large of an interior compartment. Look up something that's pretty common in the market like alpicool.

I've had mine for a couple of weeks. Almost Couldn't be happier. I agree the fixed lid position is kind of a bummer. But the pros far outweigh the cons. It's Quiet, the wheels and handle are convenient, crazy efficient, app functionality is great, icemaker (yay), dual zone that works flawlessly, long warranty, great customer support (my original battery order did not arrive, so they expedited me the 2 batteries and had to me in less than 36 hours). Over the last 24 hours I left it in the back of my Jeep where it was at least 100° during day time hours, (92° outside during the day), on its own power and its just now dipping under 10% power (temp set to 35°f). I purchased an extra battery, so knowing I can go an entire weekend without power plugged in to it is great peace of mind.

Great review! I received my Glacier (with battery!) just today ... bought a "bundle": Glacier w/battery/handle & wheels, Wave2 w battery. Last year same time I bought DeltaMax2000 and Wave A/C. My goal is 2 (maybe 3-fold): house backup system(s), RV (Motorhome and/or no build van). I bought the frig as I am very happy with EcoFlow and wanted something that could hold spendy freezer items in case of summer power outage. I have a dorm sized freezer so was able to experiment with how much room I'd need for meat that would be tough to lose $$ wise. I am a 68 year old female person ... decent condition and good knowledge re lifting and leveraging, plus I am not a tiny person :). I was able to unbox the unit AND move it into my house prior to assembling handle and wheels. It fits in a basement bay of my motorhome so I don't have to get it up and inside the coach. It rolls up a "dog" ramp into my Jeep and if I ultimately get a van. The handles and size are not overly awkward for me but it is close to the weight limit of what I can handle on my own as far as lifting it. I don't have experience with operation yet, but per your video, it looks very straightforward. Thank you! ***Oh, my maybe 3rd purpose for the frig/freezer ... I live rurally in NW Montana and there have been times when I would like to shop in town and do other things ... this unit would allow me to do that without worrying about thawing food. *****Lastly ... I had 1 experience with customer service with my original order last year ... missing cord. Ecoflow sent a cord immediately, no ifs, ands or buts! And they followed up to make sure all was well after shipping it.

Agreed, I've got the fridge, and my biggest gripe is that you can't lock the buttons out. try lifting this into your rig without hitting that power button. Seemed like everytime I had to move it, I'd inadvertently turn the unit off.

Took it camping and made ice all weekend. Plugged into solar. When the panels lose sun, remove the cable or the unit can error out and turn off also. It can't handle unstable solar and gets a low wattage error.

      @@mobius012 Interesting.... 100 watt?
Thanks for your reply. Question: what is the minimum wattage in solar that I should be looking for in a standard 42-54 liter cooler for off grid camping?
I did not realize the solar array pushing 100 watts was not enough for the small on-board battery. Any recommendations for a two person cooler in this range?

    • @mobius012
      @mobius012 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@Aonexia it all depends your intended usage..... Ambient temps, what temp you plan on setting it at and insulation. Most of the ones on the market have verry little or poor insulation. I can't speak to the anker one and anker usually makes a pretty good product
You also have to remember, a 100 watt solar panel won't actually produce 100 watts. And produces very little on a cloudy day
I wanted one I could set and forget. The ecoflow has great insulation and can use up to 240 watts. So as long as I leave my 4runnners windows cracked open so heat doesn't build up during the heat of the day and overheat the battery, it keeps on charging. At night the battery is plenty large enough to power through. I also live in az, where it gets pretty freaking hot.
I also love when you close the lid on the ecoflow you can hear it suck the lid shut and seal up.
Being able to use up to 240 W is great for cloudy days or tree shade when camping . Though it obviously gets no where near 240, it still gets enough to actually charge, even in shade
When I tried previous units that only accepted a max of 100 W, they would last maybe 2 days in real world use. That was in lower ambient and raising the fridge temp to 40°... Now I can pretty much use it however I want and never worry about it.
You have to remember they lab test all these things in perfect conditions and set at 39° to 41°
I've had mine set at 30° to keep everything very cold and it has worked wonderfully
Nothing like popping open a chilled water or soda on a hot day
I wish yeti made one of these. Yetis insulation mixed with a compressor cooler would be absolutely amazing!
Which brings me to my next point. When you use a standard ice cooler, it chills your drinks/food quickly. Because everything is sitting on/in ice. In a compressor fridge, the unit itself cools quickly but the contents take a while to catch up. So lf the unit dies and everything warms up, it takes a long while for everything to cool back down. So I wanted one that powered through and never shut off while off grid. No chance of food spoiled or warm drinks

@@mobius012 Wow! Thank you so very much for answering my questions. Ok, I reside in Florida and do alot of driving looking at land and properties for sale. I also camp for day's at a time alone in the bush!
I've never owned an electric cooler; as I've always owned a traditional ice cooler. I drive a Tundra and often would place my cooler in the back seat where I could get to my drinks while driving and freshening up at rest areas before arriving at camp.
Question: What brand would you recommend for my journey's?
Second: Do you have a freezer in your? If so... is it practical, or just a gimmick?
Third: I've purchased the AC500 by Bluetti. Can I use the battery "B300S alone" in my rig to power the fridge (Cooler) it's a 12 volt car charger input for the B300S?

Your right there are so many cool things coming out. DOMETIC, IceCo, ARB, Bluetti are falling behind with all EcoFlows innovations! Well thought out cooler.

It's also odd that no one mentions the fact and makes a big deal that it takes up to 240 watts of solar. No other internal battery fridge on the market does that! They all do a max of 100 watts
240 watts is enough to actually charge AND use it. Others don't really charge, they extend use. This one will be at 100% battery at the end of the day
Also, being 240w, on a cloudy day when your solar panels are producing much less, it's still powers through and charges
Again no other fridge on the market does that..
Not even ankers new fridge with a similar size battery! Anker for whatever idiotic reason also limited solar charge to 100 watts MAX

That information is easy to find on the EcoFlow website. I didn't measure it.

Dometic is running 20% off on fridges, would you cancel the dometic CFX3 55IM for this one? I’m torn, I don’t even know what kind of customer service and warranty ecoflow provides, their website doesn’t mention it’s warranty.

Both have solid customer service. I'd say it depends more on what size fridge you need. The Dometic 55 has a lot more interior space.

If only you could get an optional battery with a port for jumper cables to start your car!

@@OzarkOverlandAdventures Haven't you seen the portable solar generators with a port for the cables and module that jump starts a car? That would be a great feature to add to the battery pack since it is designed to be used as an axillary power supply!

@@mikebartoli4755 I’ve never seen a power station that can jump a car.

Hey Matt!! Quick question...I just bought this fridge and plugged in the 12V car plug to my Bluetti and it powered on just fine. When I plugged in the AC power supply to the wall the fridge does not power on. Do you know if I need the battery in order to use the AC power supply?

    • @OzarkOverlandAdventures
      @OzarkOverlandAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

That's very odd. You don't need the battery to run off AC power. Might contact EcoFlow on that one.

@@OzarkOverlandAdventures Thanks Matt...After contacting EcoFlow, they determined that it is a defective unit and they are sending me a replacement. Now if I could only get them to expedited the replacement to me prior to me leaving for Overland Expo West on the 21st.....real world problems here..UGH!!! Thanks for your reply!!
