    Own one nearly a year now. Its a 2019. Zero problems so far. It has 19k miles now. Had 3 M3s before the giulia. Its definitely more supercar like than an M car.

    20 years in the motor trade , I’ve worked for Audi , BMW , VW and Fiat and Alfa and believe me the Germans break down and are just as problematic. The main difference is the superior dealer network helps to hide and smooth over those issues. I’ve just daily driven my 1988 Alfa Sprint Green Cloverleaf for 12 months and it’s been more reliable than my BMW 3 series and A6 Avant ! Don’t fall into usual car journo trap of Alfa cliches. And yes you absolutely must own an Alfa at some point to be a true petrolhead . But I’m talking about an original Alfa pre Fiat days . There you will get the true Alfa experience. Btw , the G in Quadrifoglio is silent 😉 other than that it was a good video 👍

    I've had my 2018 Giulia QV for five years and I also own a 999.1 GTS and a 997.2 GT3. The QV gives me more joy at the end of the day. More than the Ferraris, BMW M3, M5, and CLS55 and SL55 AMG. I love it. And it's been super dependable.

    I bought a quadrifoglio today after waiting 6 years to finally be able to afford it, and find the right deal. It is a thoughtfully designed car, with fantastic versatility from the drive modes, beautiful inside and out, with excellent road feedback, handling, and steering ratio, and brutishly powerful on demand. It also suits me personally in its aesthetics and ergonomics. I get the feeling that, even at its 84k USD price point (new,) it was a car that was lovingly and defiantly designed, probably with the hope- but not the expectation- that it would ever achieve profitability given the pedigree and market penetration of its German counterparts.
    I haven't owned an M3 so I don't have any basis for an objective comparison driving-wise, but my car is, subjectively, fucking awesome. It comes down to beauty and agency over your driving experience. It's like the designers were really thinking "the driver wants to have control over this; how do we give them the maximum amount of control in the most straightforward way?" and if it's something where you're not making a decision, then you don't have to bother with it, and it's taken care of behind the scenes.
    If you just want to get from point A to point B, buy a Prius. If you want to feel important, buy a Bentley or a Rolls. If you want a lot of tech to fiddle with, go for a Benz. And if you want the stats, I think the BMW has a slight edge. But if you want to feel young and strong and smart again...

    A quasi good review except for the dumb "unreliable" claim, inaccuracies and no mention this is a first production series? But the cherry on top is claiming an F82 CS has better steering and the edge? Nurburgring time of 7:38 vs Giulia's 7:32. Nuff said (from an F87C owner).

      @aHumanCookiee ปีที่แล้ว +6

      No mention that the Giulia is a far more comfortable vehicle too.. you know, for the days when you aren't doing 200mph on the M62 Preston turnoff thinking it's a race track

    I am very surprised you made a comparive review of the Giulia Quadrifoglio (QF) to the M3 1) without even trying the Race Mode in the QF and then 2) make negative comments about Giulia's realibility ("Alfa breakdown") without using any real current data. Giulia basic and QF reliability has been excellent. Just read the reviews of owners and not only the so-called experts who have never really driven a current Alfa for long periods nor owned one. I drive a QF and my wife drives a Giulia, both 2018. NO Reliability ISSUES. By the way, the RACE mode is spectacular and really beats the M3. - just try it.
    Because of these two major errors, yours is a very, very unfair review trying to compare the QF to the M3 or your M4.

    An M4 is an iPad on wheels. Yeah it does all you ask it to do but...an Alfa is a drivers machine, any way you look at it and you make it do what you want it to do without any electronics to make the decision.

    Nice overall review. Like a few others have noted the jibe at Alfa Romeo reliability is not really fair and just perpetuates a perception that unfairly puts many people off from considering the brand. The Giulia has been out for 6 years now and apart from some early glitches which were quickly ironed out, I believe the car has held up very well compared to other highly reputed brands. From my own perspective as a Giulia owner, I have never owned a noticeably more reliable car. I think if you are going to lob the reliability grenade into the review it would be good to temper this with actual data.

    I owned an Alfa and it was a rusty 33 boxer 1.3 with twin carbs (yes I am old) but it was a real drivers car. I bought it off a mate who owned a MK1 gti who quicly regretted selling it as he was amazed that the Alfa left his Golf standing. The Alfa was so quick off the mark it scared many Ford Escort RS turbo drivers and embarrassed a few at traffic lights. Sadly rust killed it and in my early 50's considering a Giulia Veloce. Owned several hot hatches (one of the first UK I30N cars and an Audi S3 which had no soul) but still miss the Italian electrical fires, head gasket leaks, oil leaks and breakdowns.

    No, the interior layout IS NOT like the latest BMW Ms - it doesn't bury often used controls in a digital screen. BMW Ms are not only ugly and too large, but the ride is too firm unless on perfect pavement and the steering is devoid of feel. BMW has gone for big power, (and kudos to them for their engines) but have given up on a car that's fun-to-drive.

    Yeah and not sure why you would pick a M4 over this. M4 sounds like a diesel generator, fake sounds pumped through the speakers, has dead space in the steering, steering ratio is 14 to 1 so less direct than alfa, the acceleration is more linear and smoother than M4 and the handling is much better. This car will be a legend in 20 years from now. While no one will remember the current M4.

      Casi creo que estas confundido. Deberías de estudiar ingeniería. El alfa es menos pesado por el aluminio. Las configuración de suspensiones mejor el alfa por sus dobles triángulos. El peso va más bajo el moto y peso centrado r. El árbol de transmisión carbono y el chasis el que menos pesa. Yo tengo uno, el mío del 2016 nada de averías. En lo único que gana el BMW es que la pantalla central es mejor porque la pagas aparte y el acabado de supuestas pieles 1 si compras el extra es un poco mejor BMW te toma el pelo😊
