      @@TheAdventuresofTNT I've been following your reactions from one Zeppelin song to another, and even though I've been a HUUUGE fan of the band for years, they have SO many great songs, that listening to a song like "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" is like reuniting with an old friend: you embrace it like a big hug, and remember the good times you had when you first listened to the song. What I get a kick out of is now and again I'll encounter some high school kids with a Led Zeppelin t-shirt, and it's almost universal the response they have when I've asked them what they thought when they discovered Zeppelin. Their response is usually "So THIS is what rock music is supposed to sound like" (or words to that effect) and it brings a smile to my face every time. Great stuff!

    • @mikes3827
      @mikes3827 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@TheAdventuresofTNT It should, no question. My best friend is a pretty well known rock/pop music critic, and while I've been VERY aware of not falling into our parents' "What kind of garbage are they playing nowadays?!" mindset, I asked my friend if he thought that today's music--in all genres--seems to pale in comparison to classic rock, R&B, Motown, etc? He wholeheartedly agreed.
      I also like various types of music, so while I think today's rock genre is essentially non-existent vs. the days of Zeppelin, Stones, Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Clapton, Sabbath, The Who, etc., etc. Then I also look at classic soul singers like Al Green, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, etc., and there's really no one nowadays that comes within light years of those legends, IMO. Same with hip-hop & rap, as I'm a big fan of the old-school stuff (Dre, Ice Tea, Doug E. Fresh, Rob Base, etc.) vs. the hit-mah-ho blah blah blah crap that I just can't get into nowadays.
      Like I say, I always try to keep an open mind and will fully acknowledge GOOD music when I hear it, but what does it say when society has exhalted the likes of Justin Friggin' Bieber as a musical "legend" today? Ugggh!

    Man, the thing you have to know about Zeppelin is that their whole discography is must listen to music. That's not like most other bands. They don't have bad songs. They just have great and greater. Honestly, you could just start off the first track of the first album and listen to each song in order. Of course people have favorites but don't feel like you have to just do what people recommend. There's plenty of great shit that reacters almost never touch of theirs. Kind of a shame. Because it's all worthy of a listen.

    The second song on their very first album. The thing about Zeppelin, for me, is that they are thought of as a Hard rock band but they were so much more. It was because of them that I delved into the blues and into folk music and into country music and of course rock. I am so grateful for my appreciation of all music. being a teenager in the 70s this band and Floyd, Stones, The WHO started my hunger for new music and lead me to bands like The Ohio Players, EW&F, Stevie, Bill Withers and so on. Thanks for appreciating & bringing this amazing, timeless music to a new generation. I kinda took it for granted back then that it would always be like that. sadly it's not. At least not to the level it was back then. Thanks again. Peace.

    I'm surprised too that this was never requested! As a major Zepplin fan, this is my favorite. When he sings that first line it's so perfect. No one has ever matched Robert Plant's voice. No one ever will.

    I love that line in the song "you make me happy every single day" it just strikes me as just being deeply in love, very powerful.

    at 15 I locked myself in my bedroom and played this song so loud and so much my parents thought I needed some kind of intervention. It's both chilling and thunderous. Still may favorite song of all time. Led Zeppelin is a singularity.

    I'm 74, the same age as Robert Plant, and I remember when this first album was released in 69. You feel the same way I did then. Sure do appreciate your reaction. I still love this and love the way you youngsters are discovering their talent.

    I cannot tell you how your perfect reaction from start to finish , filled me with joy to see. I grew up with this music and it's so lovely to see,that despite the fact your generation did not experience the music of this time (which was probably the most unique, diverse and exciting era for all kinds of 'new' sounds) you still are moved by it's energy and brilliance. It really was moving ,seeing and sharing your reactions as the song unfolded. Thank you for both your appreciation and complete understanding , emotionally and technically the beauty and power that was Led Zep and the still amazing,Robert Plant.(every member of the band just fit together so beautifully , changing a single person would have drastically altered their music)

    @The Adventures of TNT, i'm a 68 yo Englishman Londoner, so this group was conquering the world in my musically formative years: I saw them live at the 1970 jazz and blues festival at Shepton Mallett [the forerunner to the now legendary Glastonbury Festival] that summer where they were to top of the bill on the Sunday [Pink Floyd on the Saturday]. I thought these were pretty boring, in truth, and have never been a fan of their music. BUT it has to be said this song is SENSATIONAL and I am now more into their music than I was back then. Loved your reaction to it, awesome.👍👍👏

    A local DJ HERE/NYC used to have these "contests" as to which Zeppelin song had the most "BABY'S" or how many times did Plant sing "BABY" on certain tunes... I never got that interested, but my 1st guess was, "Babe, I'm gonna leave you" and although I never did follow up on it, I believe I got it right 1st time. OK Zeppelin fans... start counting !!!
    THANKS, TNT. Peace.

    Zep dove into a wide variety of musical styles and melted them into their own mold, you have to listen to a large selection of their music to grasp this. So to begin with they are amazing musicians.

    I can't wait until you realize what so many others have mentioned... There just isn't a bad Led Zeppelin song... even at a young age these guys went through the effort of producing each song and each album with layers of music that just simply isn't heard today...
    I hope you continue to do more of this... As well as Floyd, Boston, Jethro Tull and so many more Great classic rock groups...
