Wow you already did it. Man your awesome. I saw this movie 23 times in one week at The 8st playhouse in the village in NYC back in 79. I went every day.
I love that clip. Everyone cracked up in the movie theater when I saw movie. The footage from those shows that were in the movie wrought the best live video of them in my opinion.
At the time these guys were considered trouble making hippies. And off the stage they were;they were probably some of the most destructive people in a hotel room.
@@jamesm.3967 They weren't the first. The Who also had that reputation and that was before 'hippies'. The Who were mods. www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/whos-roger-daltrey-claims-hotels-20701682
Saw 'em live in 1975 Earls Court London I always regret not picking up one of the bootlegs that were being sold but then you never knew what you might be getting
@@richardpepin8046 SO right it is the Led Zeppelins greatest moment. Their 'Machine Gun!' as it was for Hendrix. The greatest of the greatest. The universe stands still.
I saw this at the drive in theater in the mid 1970s. We all got out of cars and partied to this incredibly raw music. Hundred kids awed by the music. I loved Jimmy but all my girlfriends loved Robert and his tight jeans! Great time!
Absolutely love watching the younger generations listen to this masterpiece! Love the reactions Every. Single. Time. Never disappoints. These four Gods of Rock show why they’re the greatest who ever took stage. All four of these men KNOW it. I’m so glad to hear you point out Bonzo on the drums. Any drummer will tell you that his performance here is extremely difficult and drives the front men to do what they do best. Without this level of play, the song wouldn’t have been on the other-worldly level it was on. JPJ on keys? Same thing. Keeping the melodies the way he does is not easy when there is so much improvisation going on. Great reaction to a great performance! 😃
TOTALLY down for it... Jimmy Page was the reason I learned to play guitar, man! And Bonham was my main (only??? 🤔) influence on how I approached dynamics as a beginning drummer... at 5 yrs old, before I found the guitar!! And John Paul Jones, almost overshadowed by 3 musical titans, was/still is one of the most talented, creative & versatile musicians in the music industry & melded the whole band together more than perfectly! 🔟
I'm 63 I saw Led Zeppelin at the Long Beach arena in 1976 i think those a long time ago. I stood 20 rows back for the whole show and actually fell asleep well I don't wanna say fell asleep I passed thou during no quarter which lasted at least 40 minutes. I paid $20 for my tickets about 2 hours before the show at the troubadour on sunset boulevard. This song was sick. Great show.
And 50 years later. You really really listen. Amazing. The band, the magic they created. Often copied, but never surpassed. Simply the best. Who can match this perfection.
Omg. Soooooo much better than at Knebworth! I've heard this song, and video, what seems like a million times, and I never get sick of it. It's perfect, and the band was so tight. Wonderful.
It's funny watching you react to Zepplin, I've listened to it so much over the years it's almost become ubiquitous. There is so much good "old" music out there. Keep looking. :-)
You should've only lived it, I was lucky enough to see them in 77 at the garden omg. It was the era of all music from rock to soul RnB etc. I'm glad to see you and your generation are getting to appreciate this music.
This is actually an amazingly proficient jazz-blues group. They play off of each other. Plant is an improvising jazz vocalist--and he's playing off of as well as singing with the rest of the group. In this song they have a very open and improvisatory structure. Really genius. Each musician is SO good. But they hang together--and serve the mood and theme of song as a unit. With great originality and feeling.
Great reaction man. I told you! This entire 1973 MSG concert is the performance of their career, the pinnacle of perfection. You and the wifey need to curl up on the couch and watch the entire concert movie The Song Remains The Same. You won't regret it!
Perfectly said! Jimmy's playing speaks to the soul, at least of those who listen and feel it. Bonham was the thunder. Plant the best rock vocalist ever, and JPJ is outstanding as well. The 4 created magic
That performance is part of a awesome feature length film called the song remains the same. It’s a concert film mixed in with a bit of behind the seans stuff but also cut with little short trippy abstract films one for each band member and the manager. The films kind of reflect there personalities and passions. You get stuff like Bonham racing cars, the manager as a monster killing gangster, plant as heroic knight. All while zeppelin music plays over it. It was basically some of the first music videos intercut with the Madison square garden concert. Way ahead of it’s time. It’s awesome!
I dig your reaction, you're just laughing because sometimes things are just that good that there is no other natural reaction. Also as a professional bassist I love that you are always listening out for John Paul Jones. He's the reason I became a musician. Well done.
People don't give bassist the credit that they deserve but JPJ forces you to give him credit. His playing is just as good as jimmy Pages guitar and Robs vocals. I love Zep for that reason alone. Everyone is so fuckn talented.
I giggled every time you laughed. I have watched The Song Seems the Same video and I never get tired of that show. Please react to IN the Light and Ten Years Gone.
Zeppelin was a influence on the King of Pop during the 70's. In a Tiger Beat article Latoya was answering questions to some of the girls questions on what Michael liked and she said Michael liked playing basketball, and mentioned what his favorite food was. Also, he liked Led Zeppelin.
Im so glad we have this concert on film , dvd and album so these guys can be forever young! Are you going to do Achilles Last Stand , if so check out Roberts lyrics .
When Jimmy Page hits the first flurry of notes in the solo then throws his arm in the air whilst the reverb of the notes is swirling around the stadium is truly mesmerizing.
And check the 1973 MSG performances of Celebration Day, No Quarter and Whole Lotta Love if you want to continue to have your socks blown off. Just buy Song Remains the Same DVD and see the whole damn thang!
Hardly anybody had ever heard of them when I saw them in 1970. They absolutely blew me into the back of my seat, I'm not lying. I had never heard anything like them and I haven't since. Jimmy Page is definitely up there with Hendrix for innovation and performance. They had just come out with their first album and me and my friends were shocked! It was so good. One of the best bands in history, right up there with the Beatles and Stones.
Best performance EVER!! Prime example of how they are so in tune with one another. Jimmy says there are the main parts of the songs but the rest is impromptu. Robert says he was always in bed by 12pm. Jimmy says he quit drinking when he was close to 30 yrs.
I would love a streaming of Led Zeppelin! Don't forget to record the stream as well and put it on Google drive or Wetransfer for example :) you should check out their performance at the Royal Albert hall, how many more times is incredible!
I really love the way Jimmy Page listens to Robert Plant as he sings and plays along with what he sings
He knows bro. Dude owns that stage . The timing of the band, especially Jimmy Page is incredible
JPJ is playing the keys and adding bass lines with foot levers! The unsung hero of L.Z.
Totally Agree with you my man
I Fuckin' LOVE THIS!
Happy that u chose this version. It's the best by far
I'm 80years old this year and still listening to THE MIGHTY ZEP saw Led ZEP in summer of 73PERTH W Australia my ears are still tingling 😎🎶🎵🌏

Did you notice the cop? He's supposed to be doing security, but he's staring at the stage slack-jawed with awe. :D
Can’t blame him
He’s thinking “how the fuck he sounds even better live than all the vinyl I’ve got of theirs?”

So much soul Robert and Jimmy on guitar
He kills it Exactly 💕
If you've got a half hour to kill, Dazed and Confused live from the '73 MSG show is otherworldly.

27 minutes of pure magic. My opinion Zeppelin's finest hour (well 27 minutes and change). It's just mind blowing!!

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate Jonesy's amazing jacket?
He'll yeah I am one of their biggest fans, I love them sounds awesome, I'll be there!!!

Led zep are always astounding but i think everything fell into place that night best live performance on you tube
Glad you checked out this version. On a bad day they did great, on a good day no band could touch them.
I love your idea for a Led Zeppelin night. That would be so bad ass.
Hi, when there is an astounding song such as this & it's live, let the applause at the end continue as an homage to the band...
Hahahaha... Yep, Led Zeppelin’s exploits with the groupies are legendary. There’s a book about it, I believe it’s alled Hammer of the Gods.

Stairway to heaven, is pure magic at this concert.
IMHO, this is one of the best live performances of all time. Zep was really iconic, and for good reason.
Awesome performance. Goose bumps all over my body from beginning to end. Love the 70's
I was at their 1977 concert at the Pontiac Silverdome concert. 50 yard line of the football field. I wish I had been straight.
Love it when page does the blues

Glenn Corbett soultrainbro 🙂
