I gotta say, Kuuga has some of the best concept art I've seen. The main form Kuuga actually looked pretty good
small missconception: The "Riderman-like" character was in fact going to be a new, modern take on Riderman.
This concept art was made for the Kamen Rider Decade movie, in which Riderman was supposed to play a bigger role, mostly because he was supposed to be played by the superstar Gackt, which is also very obvious when you look at the helmetless version. For multiple reasons (mostly production issues because the Decade series legit ran into legal issues in its tail end) this never really took off, and just fizzled out.
What were the legal issues? I never knew that. And thanks for the clarification!
@@ChristianAntwan Not a joke, the finale of Decade broke TV laws in Japan. It is forbidden in Japan to advertise a TV movie as a conclussion to a TV series, which Decade clearly did. So, to avoid legal issues Toei had to move quick and fast. For one, an extra episode of Decade had to be made asap to give the show *some* conclusion, and secondly, the movie had to be changed so it wouldn't directly continue on from were the original ending of the series left off on. That is why Decade has become such a narrative mess at the end, and why the character lacks a proper finale.
That dark red part on the Ooo Samiwou combo is a sword fish not a squid. The light blue armor is a hermit crab. The fish form for Geats is from a contest on designing a new raise buckle that will not be used at all.

That version of Kamen Rider Black RX with the visor looks like the metal hero Jiban. Now I suspect that design indeed inspired Jiban.
I wonder if the gun form for kuuga was what inspired G3’s design

12:04 Fun fact the Geats's shark buckle was the winner of an art contest for kids, they later design a form for that buckle and thus Geats Shark
The geats Shark form was from the winner of a contest for a new raise buckle design I believe which was published in a magazine/newspaper I think
The ooo forms are more so concept art of future forms for ooo based on the medals seen on the screen. I think they were at future foundation hq. Also that first one you showed was literally the Poseidon combo from the Megamax movie. Shark, whale, and wolf eel

The OOO forms for the other medals were made specifically for the CSM release of the OOO stuff and technically aren't concept art for the show proper

funny you say that about shin kamen rider getting an armour. is that shin was supposedly would get his rider suit in the supposed shin kamen rider sequel that never happened.
The Spider and Bat Kamen Rider is a reference to the first two Kamen Rider Monsters Bat and Spider from the first series , also its weird we never got a Ninja theme Kamen Rider show , but we get Kamen Rider side characters who are ninja , and forms based on Ninjas , but not a ninja theme show (Also when there a cobra monsters its a Kamen Rider V3 reference, as the Cobra monster in that season was the first monster to be upgraded in the franchise)
