Yay!!! I was waiting on another video. Congratulations Dr. Jackie! Looking forward to hearing about your journey on receiving your doctorate, and your new experiences.
Congratulations Dr. Edwards you are truly aspiring. You have overcame many obstacles. Saw your segment on abc good morning america, congratulations on that also. 🎉
Ive always wondered this (since DMS is fairly new) do your colleagues/people you treat call you doctor ? Or do you introduce urself as Dr. to ur patients /do ur co workers introduce you as Dr. I would expect so, but it seems confusing since the Dr. title has always been for MD/DO, thanks for all you, do awesome Chanel!
Thank you for watching! I think it is setting-dependent. I technically am a doctor, just not a medical doctor or doctor of osteopathy. I believe that going by Dr. Jackie the PA, it states what I do. Patients still sometimes refer to me as "doctor." MD/DO's do not own the term "doctor" and I think that is some of the confusion. In clinic, I still say I'm a PA, but I don't know if most patients care.
