    As I've learned from living at 7000ft. Everything BBQ takes at least 25% longer at this altitude.

      Its more less a gimmick. The moisture within the potato negates the affects of having a heat conductive material inside. Test have shown them to maybe be 10% quicker in cooking. Its just a silly gimmick.

    Who knew? Nail! So cool and makes so much sense.. and a smoked potato 🥔 sounds divine. I’ve got a BGE May try it ...

    • @ChefJasonMorse
      @ChefJasonMorse 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Crystal Renner so great on the BGE, use the conveggtor and do them offset. Same temp as the Traeger. Enjoy that awesome flavor.

    With or without nails. A potato cooks in 60 minutes at 375. I've never used nails (first time hearing about them).

    • @ChefJasonMorse
      @ChefJasonMorse 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I find these nails save me about 5-7 minutes of cook time and create a much better, more fluffier potato

    Should poke fork holes through potatoe skin to get more smoke IN them

    • @ChefJasonMorse
      @ChefJasonMorse 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      that works too for more smoke flavor, also helps some of the salt and pepper get into the skin. Tasty. Chef Jason

    Such a skinny nail compared to potato size… isn’t there a thicker nail to use? Doesn’t seem like it would work.

    • @ChefJasonMorse
      @ChefJasonMorse 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Arnold, we don't sell a thicker one. this one works great because its thinner and heats up faster, the ultimate goal is to have this help heat thru the inside of the potato while cooking from the outside on the grill. my go to for amazing baked potatoes. Chef Jason

      We love them, plus they help the center come out super fluffy and perfect at that internal temp of 205˚. Chef Jason

      So am I supposed to tell my Grandma she is wrong? :-)
      Thanks for your reply, have been using nails for over 20 years. I guess I’ll keep trying for another 20.
      They work solid, they speed up cooking time and produce a better potato. Thanks for watching. Chef Jason
