Had the JC 116660 2017 model and💙it. However I rather much prefer the wider 22mm bracelet on the 126660 which I currently own 2022 model. Sold the 116660 JC and never looked back. Thought I wanted the new 136660 JC but made no sense why Rolex removed the diver’s extension yet raised the price. For me the best example is the JC 126660. To each their own!!
I have the 136660 black dial, It is flawless i absolutely love it, Suit's all occasions, Endless compliments. If you're looking to obtain in the Sea Dweller Range, Deep Sea Dweller is the go. Trust me get one on your wrist. 😊
Tried on the 136600. 7.6 inch wrist fits like a dream. Bit loud for me and would go the 116600 all black because if the proven movement and less ostentatious. The newer movement will have to prove its worthiness
Going to a slimmer bezel on the 136660 really doesn't make sense from a functional perspective as it exposes the crystal edge to chipping. I think the 126660 is the sweet spot.
I just got my 136660 and thought it was a fake until i saw this video. all the other sea dwellers have the extra folding bit on the end of the band and this model doesn't. Thanks for the clarification DavidSW
116660 Mk 1 was the best. Tapered bracelet balanced the case and was elegant. 22mm lugs made the case look more square and chunky. Domed crystal > 136660 crystal. Fliplock included even if removed and put in box (what i did). Coronet on Mk 1 dial unique to DSSD. Speculation but I've had both in hand - even later 116660 were chunkier than M serial.
The 136660 changed the logo on the face from “SEA-DWELLER” to “DEEPSEA” even in the black version which I immediately noticed when I was at my AD. The block letters of the new version look great and I asked my AD to upgrade so I will.
I absolutely love my JC 126660 and wear it 24/7. My only small complaint, it is hard to read the date without reading glasses. Wonder if the 136660 is any easier since it is a little larger?
Not that Oisin O Malley reads any of these comments; the Challenger reference 126067 is Rolex’ biggest diver at 50mm. It’s MSRP as of 12/2024 is $25,950. Currently listed on Chrono 24 for $56,482 and Luxury of Watches for $46,995.
Anyone here know of similar Dive-style watches slightly smaller than DeepSea ? I like the fit of Aquaracer Superdiver , but putting on the DeepSea is too big :( .
I have the 126660. Why is the 136660 more convenient? It's almost the same clock. Only the bezel and date have been changed, and the diving extension is gone.
@@Truelife5354 Because human nature dictates that whatever you happen to own is best… I’m going to get into a JC soon. It’ll either be a 126660 or a 136660, nothing between them ergonomically👍
The only legit use for such a high crush depth is for the watch to be strapped to a deep diving submersible's rc arm, like the one that was strapped to James Cameron's Deepsea Challenger
the 31xx moveements have been proven to be bulletproof, to me the only difference for the 32xx movements is the longer power reserve, even then I don't really care about it.
I traded in the 126660 black version in mint condition with some other watches and got the 136660 in 18k gold, my dream watch. Posted a video on my TH-cam.
116660 is the ultimate watch here - the original always pushes ahead in the longer term - very low numbers too , watch this one go up over the ten years , potentially will leave the Daytona
@@jrobinson5661 don’t disagree J with the thickness conversation - but and a big but , this is the thing that makes it different - hence will be the one
I went with the 126660. It has a better calibre movement from the previous generation; and an improved bigger bracelet. I didn’t like the changes they made to the 136660 and those were not in my opinion improvements to the watch (like why on earth would you want the flip lock removed?).
Thats not an investment piece. It should be a serious dive watch, but the 136660 lost its extension feature. Therefore its just a showoff watch for desk divers in a suit 😂, nothing else.
The Explorer is for fake mountaineers, and the Explorer II is for make-believe cave explorers. Basically, the timepiece equivalent of a Range Rover that has never so much as put a tire onto grass. I'm pretty sure I'm getting an Explorer II to wear to my tech job 😂
The Rolex Deepsea is the King hands down....but only the black dial....The blue dial is rather feminine and gimmicky. The black dial deepsea with new dimensions (2018-2023) is the only way to go. The black dial is the mans mans Rolex. The classic black dial IS Rolex.

I can get a 2016 116660 for 11k full set should I buy it though
Yes!
My god I love this watch!. Defiantly my first purchase when I retire soon!.....
You should do an update now that the 136660 no longer has "Sead-weller" on the dial. It's now simply a Deepsea

Thanks 4 highlighting subtle changes; comparing & contrasting between several generations of Rolex Deep Sea
Just purchased M136660 very elegant master piece, wear all day blue dial. Very awesome watch it fits on me perfect.
The black 116600 (the Bismarck) will be fore sure a collector.
the 116600 is altogether a different reference, that's the SD4K

Great observations. Do you mean the "Coronet not present at 6 o"clock on Mark 1 " makes it unique ?

I am in line for one
I never use the glidelock but I use the flip lock 8 to 9 times a day so I'm glad I didn't upgrade to the new one.
Why would you use the fliplock 8 to 9 times a day? Does your wrist suddenly expand or contract 26mm?
