I got so happy after finishing the first cup and then immediately wanted to cry when you said just go ahead and make the other one 😂 the joys of crocheting
i've been watching this tutorial for close to a week now making myself this top for the summer and i am in LOVE with it so far. i'm so grateful that you included the amount of rows for each size and that it's customizable AND that this is a free tutorial. it's my first ever crochet project since learning to crochet back in february and am very impressed at how easy this is to follow!
Was just wondering for future vids if you could do the first stitch not sped up before speeding up the video. It’s a bit difficult to keep track at times :)
For those who also didn’t fit the sizes in the description: I’m a size 30G with the US system and I used a chain of 28 and 26 rows to make the cup of my top! What worked for me was to make a chain long enough to at least be the distance from my chest to over my nipple and then for the number of single crochets subtract two from the number of chains I did. My cup had a bit of a spike though, so if you have a bra size similar to mine you might want to make a longer chain and then do less single crochets to make it flatter
Did you measure with a bra on or without one? I just want to know because some tutorials for measuring dont say. they don't even recommend. My everyday bras are sports bras from Walmart, and the one I wear to "Show the Girls" is a bra that is wayy too small for me. So I might have to try the method.
so easy and fun I am 12 years old, and I have been crocheting since I was 7 years old, but this was only the second top I have made but it only took me about 1 hour and 45 minutes to about 2 hours. I made my mom try it on and she loved it even though she doesn't wear crop tops. I can't wait to sell it and make money, but I also loved the journey it took to make it and I am already making another one.
Damn that's it? I'm 13 and I did crochet when I was ten but then let go, I started again after 2 years if nothing with stuffed animals, and a bunny took me almost FOUR HOURS 😭 Edit: il basically done (I'm finishing up the last strap) and this took me 6+ hours 😭😭😭
@@JustAnArtist-hg3sw It took me way longer than two hours too. I'm 13 and I just got back into crocheting, probably started when I was about ten but took a break a few months ago. Also amigurumi does take so long, right?

Dear Kelsie i have already crochet 23 cardigans since Xmas until end of February. Now i will start with the tops. Thank you so much for your videos. They helped a lot.
I really like how detailed you are with this tutorial. Explaining why you’re doing something is soooo important when teaching someone how to do something new . Thank you!
Just finished my first Lilly top yesterday! I was astonished with how well it turned out- definitely will make another very soon. Thank you Kelsie for giving me an excuse to buy even more yarn 😅
@@jolanbugnet2172 I used under 100g of cotton yarn. I'm not sure how much exactly, but for a size XS or S somewhere around 100g should suffice! Happy crocheting 😊
Thank you SO much for this tutorial!! My 18 year old daughter wants me to make her this top and now I can with the help of this video. Your video and instructions are impeccable - the best I've ever seen and I watch a LOT of crochet videos. I'm getting started on it tonight! Update: I made this in one night and it turned out great! I followed the cup sizing and did 10 chains for the sides. My daughter loves it! She's 5'7" and next time I'll extend the single crochet rows on the bodice by about 3-4 rows to make it a bit less bralette looking on her. Easy peasy!

I was so happy when I finished it and felt very accomplished! Kelsie does a wonderful job giving simple, straight forward instruction throughout the video. Thank you Kelsie!
Your tutorials are the best I have seen so far! I love that you go step by step, and I especially love the fact that you zoom in on a particular stitch we need to go into.
Followed this using the XL size (I’m a UK 36E/38DD), silly me didn’t realise UK and US bra sizes are different so next time i’ll just do a Large. Posting this incase anyone else makes my mistake. Hi Kelsie, I’ve just finished my second cup, I’ve never made a top before I can wear so this is the first thing I’ve attempted. Love the way you explain things, and how well edited your tutorials are. You taught me the stacked single crochet - a new very useful stitch! Thank you so much for this tutorial, I’m really enjoying myself - you’ve got a fan xxxx
for those of you who are shorter or have a short torso but wider chests, I made one of these for my sister and I did 12 chains in the beginning with about fourteen rows out and it turned out great! every body is so different so do what works for you! Hello im Not going to tell you my name for safety reasons, but i am a new crocheter. I just wanted to let you know that this video really helped me make my first top at the age of 14. You earned yourself a new subscriber!! 😊
This became my first ever clothing crochet! And i had no mistakes. Didn't fit me tho but i've learned so much about cup size measurments and how i can do better at next time. Thank you for this tutorial

Just finished making this! It was my first ever piece of clothing, and I’m so happy with how it came out. Thank you for this beautiful pattern and for making it so easy to understand! 🩷
I just finished mine, and it took me 4 hours as a beginner. Love it!!! Fits pretty perfect for 36B, some who might want it a bit wider should go for the medium probably, but I'm in love. Definitely going to be making more and trying the different sizes. So simple to follow, love love!
I am going to Electric Forest this summer and I wanted to wear something like this. I went ahead and got it done so quickly, and that's saying something considering I have a 3yo and 8yo to manage every day and they keep me so busy I never have time for hobbies. Thank you for making this design available for people who just want to feel like they accomplished something that isn't child-centric. Just finished my first top ever and I wanna say huge thanks to you for this tutorial because your explanations are the best, you’re making it a lot easier (especially for beginners)! So, thank you so much for your work, keep it up! 🙏🏻💙
I've made a similar top, but never this one before and it came out exactly how I was hoping it would! ! I finished an oversized cardigan and earlier this week, and wanted to make a matching top with the leftover yarn and this was perfect and makes such a cute outfit together!
i was just looking for your last tutorial that i had saved cause i wanted to make another one (the first one was amazing but i wanted it in another color) but i couldn’t find it so i went to your page and see this was posted 45 minutes ago?? literally made my day 🥰🥰
Bought the pattern and the video helped immensely with understanding as I am somewhat new to crocheting, my sister loves the top and I’ve gotten so much inspo for my own ideas!
I’m on the bottom under the cups at 3 rows this is my first crochet project ever! Your tutorial is wonderful! All I had to look up was how to do a single crochet stitch so far! I can’t wait to wear this all summer long!!
I have no idea what I did wrong the first time I tried this but I started over and tried again and it’s been turning out really well. I was crocheting all day yesterday trying to learn how to do this and I’ve just finished my first cup so I’m pretty proud considering I’m a beginner.
I loved this tutorial! It was fun and easy to follow. The top is beautiful and at first glance looks intimidating to a relatively new crocheter, but it was so simple and at the end it helped build my skill confidence. Thank you!
My big ladies definitely needs a bra to make this top justice but DAMN it looks so good! So glad I tried this out and thanks for your super clear instructions ❤
I’ve been wanting to crochet a top for so long now. No tutorial has helped me as much as this one! This pattern is super beginner friendly and only uses a couple stitches! This is hands down one of the best crochet tutorials!I love the pattern so much and can’t wait to make this in the again in the future!
Thanks so much for the tutorial! You perfectly explained each step and it was easy to follow. I finished my first summer/Lilly top today thanks to you, and it was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be! I’ll definitely be making more!
I am so glad that I was referred to your channel. I am making my first article of clothing using your granny hexagram sweater. Lol. I am actually old enough to be your grandmother and it took finding you to do this. If successful, my granddaughter is in her early 30's and very slim and wants me to make her a cropped top and matching mini skirt. This looks like something she might like.
This is honestly a wonderful pattern and very adaptation friendly. I legitimately just used this as a base pattern to make a doll a top lol. Thank you so much for the instructions and the great visuals to help with learning this pattern! I had a lot of fun making this and I'm really proud of the end result 🥰❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

I started crocheting about 4 weeks ago and just made this and it turned out amazing! Even though I couldn’t get my chains as tight 😂 thank you for the awesome tutorial
in the middle of making this right now and its my first time making something other than chunky amigurmi. im loving ittt! the wool im using is smaller so ive had to do more rows than suggested for the cups but it all seems to be working out. thank you!!! ❤️❤️
This is the BEST and easiest crochet top ever guys. I finished my first one and crocheting my second top now. Crocheting cups have been never easier. But this tutorial right here. Is the bestttttt 🥲 TYSM for this tutorial ♥️✨
i didn’t think this was gonna fit me, nor did i think i’d finish it in about 4 hours (broken up ofc not all in one sitting) but THIS IS THE CUTEST THUNG EVERRRRRRRE i love this so much! your videos never fail
Such a great pattern! I'm an intermediate crocheter and it took me about 3 hours. Your video was so easy to follow and for the VERY FIRST TIME, all my stitches matched yours exactly and I didn't have any of those dreaded moments where things didn't line up. Love Love Love! Definitely a fan!
I’m a new subscriber and in the middle of this beautiful project. I love it so much, and I can see myself crocheting multiple ones for my friends. What I LOVE the most is your stacked sc! I’m not a fan of the chains in the beginning of any project and have been using other options. However, I am beyond elated to learn this skill!!!! Thank you so much, Kelsie❤
i am like an xxs in most things and i made this and it was quite big especially around the boob part but i LOVE that it is adjustable because it makes it so much more fitted and my sister can also wear it since it is so adjustable!! i love this pattern thank you so much for sharing for free, i definitely reccomend ❤ btw i am an expierences crocheter but ive mostly just done amigurumi this is my second attempt of clothing, as i made a sweater before but i never wore it because the arms felt boxy and uncomofortable 😭 But this top only took me a few hours to make and i extended the bottom a lot to be a regular sized t-shirt, this is a very well put together pattern and video, i can see the effort the creator has put into this, thank you very much PassioKnit Kelsie
any idea how many grams of yarn this takes? Is 100g enough? Edit: for me 100g was enough, although my yarn was a lot thinner than the one used in this video. I did mine with the XL size to get it to be S size as with the thinner yarn it obvi takes more stiches to be the right size :)
Just a heads up when you joined the 2nd cup you said we do a dc when you actually did a SC. Just in case anyone got confused I did slow it down and it is a sc instead. I think she might have gotten her words mixed up. No worries though. I love this pattern and am already making what the same time lol ❤
So cute! Just in time for me to start planning the summer vibes… the denim color from your unboxing would look so cute for this top! As soon as I am finished with my granny cropped cardigan! Lol
Still a beginner here. I can’t wait to try this!!! You’re video was great and I loved how you did a close up when explaining what to do in each stitch. Super helpful!
Thank you for this lovely pattern! I made XS size for my daughter and though it fits perfectly, 140 sts isn’t long enough to be able to cross the straps over the second time, so I’m making another with 180 ch.
After failing about 1000 different crochet top attempts I finally found this and it was so easy to follow along. I finished mine today and I’m obsessed and can’t wait to start another.
I made this for my daughter, and my first item of clothing as a crochet project. I used super saver rainbow stripes yarn and it came out so adorable! Thank you!
Took me about 6 hours to make as a beginner. It’s my first clothing item! It turned out amazing. Thank you for the detailed instructions!
Mine too! I binge watched the Indiana Jones movies while I made it😂
It will be my first clothing too! I just have to buy yarn!! I can't wait to start crocheting! Also the video is soooo detailed tysm!!!
It will be mine too but I have made other items but they haven’t turned out I REALLY HOPE THIS INE DOES BECAUSE IT IS ADORABLE

I think you could measure the chains starting at your nipple and going to the bottom of your boob, that has helped me and I've seen it in other tuts
@@purplemushroom-_- ok thank you!
you can also make an extra smaller strap and lace it between the chain spaces of the cups for a cute lil tie in the front
Thanks!I have followed you and watched your videos for a long time, finally following along for my first top!

Thanks, this tutorial was super helpful! I love my Lilly top 😍 it's the first thing I've ever made like this and it came out so cute.
Just finished this top for a friend and it turned out great!!! Can't wait to make more!
Awesome pattern this was my first attempt at a bikini top. ❤❤ easy and you are very clear and easy to listen to. Thank you❤❤
in the middle of making this right now and its my first time making something other than chunky amigurmi. im loving ittt! the wool im using is smaller so ive had to do more rows than suggested for the cups but it all seems to be working out. thank you!!! ❤️❤️
I've done my first ever crochet yesterday using this tutorial and omg I'm so in loveee🥹😭😭❣️❣️
Thank you so much for this! My first top and you made it so easy! So looking forward to making more projects from your videos! 100% subscribed❤
I'm having so much fun making this top :) can't wait to see how it turns out!! Thank you for the tutorial!! ❤
Thank you for an in depth easy to follow tutorial. I can FINALLY say i've been able to complete two of these with little to no experience!
Started this top today and finished it the same day! Such a quick project and I love it!!
Girl I’ve been working on this shit for three days 🥲
Such a great pattern! I'm an intermediate crocheter and it took me about 3 hours. Your video was so easy to follow and for the VERY FIRST TIME, all my stitches matched yours exactly and I didn't have any of those dreaded moments where things didn't line up. Love Love Love! Definitely a fan!
Just finished my first top ever using this tutorial! It’s so easy to follow. I’m so happy with how well it fits!
This top is so simple and pretty! I love it! ❤️
i am like an xxs in most things and i made this and it was quite big especially around the boob part but i LOVE that it is adjustable because it makes it so much more fitted and my sister can also wear it since it is so adjustable!! i love this pattern thank you so much for sharing for free, i definitely reccomend ❤
btw i am an expierences crocheter but ive mostly just done amigurumi this is my second attempt of clothing, as i made a sweater before but i never wore it because the arms felt boxy and uncomofortable 😭 But this top only took me a few hours to make and i extended the bottom a lot to be a regular sized t-shirt, this is a very well put together pattern and video, i can see the effort the creator has put into this, thank you very much PassioKnit Kelsie
any idea how many grams of yarn this takes? Is 100g enough?
Edit: for me 100g was enough, although my yarn was a lot thinner than the one used in this video. I did mine with the XL size to get it to be S size as with the thinner yarn it obvi takes more stiches to be the right size :)
Just a heads up when you joined the 2nd cup you said we do a dc when you actually did a SC. Just in case anyone got confused I did slow it down and it is a sc instead. I think she might have gotten her words mixed up. No worries though. I love this pattern and am already making what the same time lol ❤
i just made this top as my second project and i love it!! :) thank you so much for the pattern
I have made at least 6 variations of this top. This is such a wonderful video 🥰
I really like this top and you make it look so easy. I’ll definitely be using this to make one for my daughter. Thank you !
Thank you so much for this pattern! Easy to make and beautiful result! You rock!
So cute! Just in time for me to start planning the summer vibes… the denim color from your unboxing would look so cute for this top! As soon as I am finished with my granny cropped cardigan! Lol
Great idea!!

Such a straightforward tutorial finally. Can’t wait to start this !!!
this version is 🔥
I'm finishing up my 3rd Lily Top from the first tutorial, can't wait to make this one.
Yall mine is looking so good 👍 😍 obsessed 😍
Still a beginner here. I can’t wait to try this!!! You’re video was great and I loved how you did a close up when explaining what to do in each stitch. Super helpful!
Thank you for this lovely pattern! I made XS size for my daughter and though it fits perfectly, 140 sts isn’t long enough to be able to cross the straps over the second time, so I’m making another with 180 ch.
After failing about 1000 different crochet top attempts I finally found this and it was so easy to follow along. I finished mine today and I’m obsessed and can’t wait to start another.
how long did it take you to do it?
Great tutorial. Your details, explanations, and zoom ins are excellent. Thank you so much!!
Love this tutorial!!! You are the reason why I had to buy a bunch of Lily and Cream yarn by the way 😂
I made this for my daughter, and my first item of clothing as a crochet project. I used super saver rainbow stripes yarn and it came out so adorable! Thank you!
I struggle when you speed up the video right before I see where you insert the hook
