Abbey, I just wanted to say that I recently donated my hair, and they were so happy with the quality of hair they got, they said I was welcome to donate again. While growing it out, in addition to following your advice for healthy hair, I was washing daily. So this really hammers home for me that washing daily is not dangerous, and also coconut oil is great, and silicones and sulphates aren't dangerous. So much of the commonly touted advice we see for hair is complete bull, and it's refreshing that your advice is so great, so thank you!!
@Kasatrea, can you please tell me what shampoo, conditioner, mask, bond, leave-in and pretty much your whole routine ? I want to shampoo frequently but my hair is so dry/damaged. Thank you
@@iah8331 of course!! But just because it worked for me doesn't mean it will work for you, just keep that in mind. I have pretty fine hair, and I had an undercut, so not really alot of hair. Before washing I would typically saturate my hair in coconut oil overnight. I slept with my hair in a braid inside a silk cap. My daily shampoo is and was Fungobase Dry and Sensitive Scalp Shampoo (it has SLES as the main surfactant, a very simple ingredients list), I'm not sure this is available everywhere, I shampoo twice. Once a week I use a 20 mg ketoconazole shampoo, and once a week I used to use Ouai Detox Shampoo for clarifying. I switched conditioners alot, because I struggled to find one I was 100% happy with in terms of size of the bottle, price, texture, smell, detangling and how it made my hair feel. One of my favourites was Christophe Robin Purifying Conditioner Gelee, a gel conditioner. I mainly bought it because I thought it sounded fun and new and I ended up loving it, it detangled my hair very well, had a unisex smell in my opinion, and it was super lightweight. But since you have dry hair you might want something heavier, the final conditioner I used until I cut my hair was from TRESemme, I don't remember the name, but it had amodimethicone in it and it smelled like candy. Another conditioner I really liked was from Philip Kingsley, it was their Balancing conditioner, it had a pretty mild scent, runny texture that detangled my hair well, a pretty short ingredients list with amodimethicone in it. I really liked this one, I only ended up trying other things because I couldn't get my hands on the big liter package of it. For all of these conditioners I would leave them in my hair for about 5 minutes before rinsing them out. I don't think hair masks are strickly neccecary, I didn't use them much by the end of growing my hair out, although they are a nice treat. After my shower I gently squeezed exess water from my hair, and wrapped it in a microfiber towel. For leave in I used Loreal Professionnel Vitamino 10-in-1 Leave In spray, it has a strong smell that I really like, and like Pureology Color Fanatic it has both coconut oil and amodimethicone. After my hair was dry (I prefer air drying, but if you like blow drying I think that leave in has heat protection) I applied a few drops of either Virtue Healing Oil or Philip Kingsley Lipid Sheild, and then brushed it and put it up in either a bun or braid. Earlier I used to use both K18 and Living Proof Bond Strengthener, but I stopped using bond builders because I started thinking about how little they probably did for my virgin hair that I never used heat on, compared to how much money they were costing me. But I did like both of them, K18 more so because the Living Proof one was a bit thick and hard to spread over my hair, K18 has a nicer texture I think. I hope this helps, and please keep in mind that this took alot of time to figure out for me, and I still wasn't completely happy with my routine by the time I cut my hair. And even with all the advice in the world, the scientific method of trial and error is often what is most needed. Do what works for you is the best advice anyone can get
I love seeing more k-skincare in your reviews (HaruHaru, Aestura, Pyungkang-yup). Have you done a dedicated k-skincare video? Differences in ingredients, formulations, recommendations, etc? Love!!!❤
I took watched (twice) your glossy balm video. It was the best. I bought two Ronand glasting balms from your recommendation. You and Abby are the best!!❤
L’Oreal’s Ever Pure line has a leave-in with the same top ingredients as the Kerastase and Pureology ones, and it’s like $10. It’s not as creamy…so probably has more water. But for people with fine hair that might be better. I really like it for reviving my fine, 3b curly hair between washes. I use that to refresh the curls and then apply a tiny bit of the OGX product on my ends.
I would love a video with Kerastase products and cheaper dupes! I’ve always wanted to try Kerastase and would love to see comparable alternatives at a cheaper price. ❤️
Great idea! Also, how does one choose from all the Kerastase products? There are so many and I never know which ones would work best for my fine, thin hair.
cils (pronounced “seel”) means lash, or individual hair. I’m sure you’ve heard of the word cilia, which has the same Latin base. Fun fact, the word “falsies” (for false eyelashes) comes from an English-ized interpretation of the French term “faux cils” which would be pronounced foh-seel . i was pretty stoked when i finally put that together 🤗

I use the Maybelline Sky High lash primer and I find it makes a noticeable difference in the length and definition of my lashes. Plus it's affordable and that is always an advantage 😊
Thanks to you I am now using K18 molecular repair mask/detox shampoo/conditioner, Epres, OGX coconut oil/argan oil (the penetrating oils or spray oils depending on whether it's before or after I wash) the amika shine mask followed by a good nourishing hair mask or conditioner, and the purology color fanatic leave in spray as well as following your wash day routine to the T. Also using the K18 hair oil. Yeah I've gotten a little obsessed about self-care. I'm 56 and due to a large weight loss over the past two years (deliberate and successful I might add) plus the fact I'm now in menopause, my hair has thinned out quite a bit. Thus I needed to seek out all the advice I could on how to maintain the hair I do have (no balding or anything, just thinner), improve its strength and resiliency, as well as improving hair density (reviv and calicem serums). My hair definitely feels healthier than before (I still dye it ever few months to keep the grays at bay) and I'm getting a lot of new hair growth! I am thankful to have found your channel! My hair type is similar to yours (fine, but lots of it).
Can you do a review on Kerastase new Premier line please? You should give Kerastase Nutritive and L’Oréal Professionnel’s new peptide repairing line a try, I think you’ll love them!
Hello! I’d definitely be interested in a men’s haircare video. Or at least a short hair care video (for men and/or women). I know hair is hair but there are a few things specific to men’s/short hair that I’d love clarity on like: • When hair is short you can’t really condition without it reaching the scalp - does this necessitate more frequent shampooing? • How does the use of heavier styling products like pomades or waxes differ from styling products used on longer hair (ie mousses or creams)? Does it build up faster or cause more scalp issues? • Does styling with heat closer to the scalp (because the hair strands are shorter) cause any additional damage to be aware of? • When hair is short it’s hard not to shampoo the entire strand length (whether intentionally or unintentionally) - does this cause any damage? Is there a way to avoid? • Any tips for managing coarse short hair while growing it out so it doesn’t end up looking like Lord Farquaad? Anyway - these are just a few thoughts. No pressure to make that kind of video, I just thought I’d put it out there. Thanks!
I would love this as well so I can help my fiance! he has very thick, curly hair and uses wax and pomades but his hair doesn't look very healthy most of the time
I go back to Stait of Kate’s lip balm video regularly. It was such a comprehensive video with such nuanced comparisons that it became a necessary resource when considering a lip product for me.
Aestura ATO Barrier Cream has been reformulated. Kelly Driscoll, here on TH-cam is one of my favorite K-beauty creators. She did a deep dive on the differences. As someone with mature dry skin, the newer formulation does not give me enough occlusivity. Many blessings!!!💖💖💖
@@Rebecca_Dolan I don't think she will have time to film and edit before you leave. But, I recommend you bring basic cleanser, serum and moisturizer and a product for your targeted issue.
I would love to watch you testing and reviewing more Kerastase’s products! Personally I use the Genesis leave-in on my fine hair, but I spray it on my hands not directly on my hair, not my fav product btw
I love a good empties video! I would love to see a lash primer showdown. I’ve been curious about the Too Faced one. I’ve been enjoying the Geek and Gorgeous make up balm and spray after you recommended it. I would recommend trying the Beekman phase spray if you want to try a new one. Not as an amazing price point, but still a lovely moisturizing facial spray.
Fine hair girly here 🙋🏼♀️ I use the kerastase genesis leave in and it's actually so lightweight in my hair! I haven't found any other leave in that doesn't make my hair feel weighed down and greasy. My hairdresser recommended it to me FOR my fine hair and I absolutely love it! 😊
I am in love with that Prequel Gleanser. I think that might just be my go to cleanser. It somehow makes my skin feel very clean but also very hydrated at the same time and usually all other cleansers give me one or the other. I’m sold!
Wow, such a useful video!! I like BLACK PEARL creams, great effect, although they can be hard to find. I personally get them from Dead sea shop, where the discounts are nice.
I love using epres i also noticed immediately that my hair looked shinier and was overall just healthier after using. They are also having a sale 20% off the whole site right now
Yes please on all things haircare!!! Any thoughts on Loreals' hyaluronicacid shampoo conditioner? Or products that help add thickness for shedding hair?
Your videos are soooooo good. You give so much infor and it’s obvious how much time you put in to discussing every aspect of what you’re talking about. I want to try all your recommendations BUT my hair is so different from your hair (which is gorgeous!) my scalp isn’t oily at all and my hair is curly. Plus I’m almost 45 and my hair texture has changed so much in the past year. Still love your vids! Thank you.
I’ve been struggling with hard well water for years and just started using the L’Oreal Professional Metal Detox shampoo and my hair literally transformed. In case anyone in the comments also struggled with this- buy it. It’s expensive but a little goes a long way just like most high end shampoos. I can’t believe it took me so long to realize my hard water was ruining all of my hair efforts. 😂
Thanks for the recent tip, lathering the shampoo in Hands before applying, tried it last few shampoos and it really makes a difference. Loving all your hair care tips, such great information! Those bond products have allowed me to color my hair after being gray for a few years. I needed a change, and K18 & Living Proof give amazing results.
I have a couple video ideas! A toner/essence video for dry skin/ everyone's skin type. Also a video on deep diving glow recipe products. Also very interested in you trying Biossance products.
Girl you read my mind! I was literally rewatching some of your old empties videos last night to help prepare my cart for the sale😂 So this couldn’t have came at a better time!
I hate it when people only focus on viral products and move on.. I like it when someone tests it for a very like time and really gives a full honest reviews of the pros and cons.
You have to try the etude house dr. mascara fixer! (They call it a fixer but it’s a primer) The blue version (super long lash) has little black fibers for lengthening 😊
abbey, I would love for u to do a video talking about the ITK skincare line. It’s created by Brooklyn and Bailey, and I’ve always wondered if it’s any good.
Try the Caudalie Grape water Moisturizing face mist! I wasn't loyal to any particular spray until I found this one. There is something so luxurious about the mist and it feels so good on the skin. Truly better than any other face mist just try it and you'll see! It's also only $20.
Hi Abby. As always love your content is so inspiring. I love the Kerastase Genesis Defence Thermique but because it’s rather thick I use it like a lotion by spraying to my hand then applying on the hair. I have fine - medium hair and love it. I think it’s very nourishing but without weighing my hair down. I actually have enjoyed using before heat styling and find that it works well like that too and appears to help with holding the style as well. Greetings from London ☺️
I’m wondering your opinion on Asian haircare. You love haircare and Asian skincare, would love a combo! I know you’ve tried Elizavecca and loved it. Some suggestions would be like Ryo, Daeng Gi Meo Ri, Fino mask, Shiseido Tsubaki mask, British M Annatto Hair Oil, Mise En Scene Serum, A’Pieu Raspberry Hair Vingear, Aromatica or &honey.
Adding so many things to my Sephora sale shopping list! Also the coral color on your looks soo nice! Do you mind me asking where you found your sweatshirt?
I've been considering the Dior lash primer. I'm currently trying the Jane Iredale PureLash. It's pretty good. My two favorites are Lancome and L'oreal Voluminous. I would love to see a showdown!
My mom had a fluffy cleanser when I was a kid. I’d buy it for the texture alone if it were still available. So I absolutely understand what you mean about the Haruharu. Maybe I’ll love it.
I’d looove to see your nightmare & morning routine. Also are these skincare good for aging 40 year olds? I’m 43. I’m using caudate serums and moisturizers and caudale cleanser and the youth ppl green apple cleanser when I wear makeup. The yogurt cleanser in am. Occasionally I’ll add in a niacinamidd serum at night and tretinoin. SPF 50 in am over my moisturizer.
Hey Abby! I have been watching your videos for awhile now and love your content and how well you explain everything in detail! I was wondering if you could do a review of REVOX B77 PLEX Line? It's basically a "dupe" for olaplex. I have been using it for about 6 months now. I'm going to be honest, my hair feels great after using their products. Mind you, I have bleached, curly hair. I was just wondering if their line is actually repairing my hair or not based in their ingrediants. And since you're so educated on hair care I would love it if you could make a video of their entire hair line? It would mean so much to me! ❤❤ Love you!
i started using the ordinary cooper peptide because of you! i'm doing it slow bcause i just cleared all my acne from my face. hopefully it works for me too
I completely agree with you on balanced lip products. A big part of why I didn’t really like the Laneige lip mask was because it didn’t have any of that protective thickness. I discovered the Care:nel lip mask (it’s on Amazon and K-beauty sites) later and loved it so much more. I’m not recommending it as a dupe, it’s a product I consider superior. It has the lip softening quality of Laneige, but it also has petrolatum in it so it has that protectiveness. It has a very fine microshimmer in it (so fine I used it for a whole year before I even noticed it) that makes it extra glossy. I own a LOT of lip products but I reach for this one over most of them. It’s also very affordable. It’s cruelty free as well, for those who want to avoid animal testing.
Can you please do a "neck care" specific video? Do you use the same products on your neck as your face? My derm said neck skin should be treated like the skin around our eyes because it is thinner and produces very little to no oil.
Maybe you could review the Douglas Collection Mini Maxi Panorama + Volume Mascara? Has good reviews. Also, could you list the mentioned products in the order of speaking? Would be easier to track the product you're looking for.
Omg...so envious you have the Tree Hut sweet cream body butter 😭 I didn't even get one when they were in stores. I decided I wanted it but when I went back to get it they were sold out. It smelled SO good.
Curious how you use copper peptide with other products in your routine, I think thats a great video idea! I struggle getting it to work in a weekly routine with tret the day before or day after. I don't know which to prioritize.
I’ve used a few of Kerastase products and as a person with fine and thin curly hair, I don’t like them. They’re way too thick for my hair and it ends up weighing my hair down even when I use a minimal amount. I don’t recommend it for hair like mine. Color Fanatic is a better product because it doesn’t weigh my curls down and still gives me all the benefits.
@@gwendolinehall1386 Hi Gwendoline. I had to block you ages ago for sending me wildly inappropriate messages on Instagram. Please stop making up rumors about me on TH-cam and Reddit. It is extremely hurtful.

I can’t believe it took me so long to realize my hard water was ruining all of my hair efforts. 😂
Can you buy it in a store or do you have to order online?
@@daniellewilding8878 I ordered mine on Amazon
My favorite cleanser that gives that same gel to a soft foamy texture but hydrating feel is the Krave beauty matcha cleanser.. it’s so heavenly 😇
Will you be making another self tan showdown?! They’re my all-time favorite videos of yours!
Love to see a mascara primer showdown! I love the Tarte one but I've heard great things about the Dior one so I have it in my list to try next!
You are spot on about the little cerave cleanser. Nothing wow about it due to the cost and size! It is itty bitty!
Love your videos! Can you please try the Aveda bond building flash treatment! Would love to see a review from you from the new product!❤
Oh, I love Aveda!
@@RyanneeyLove Aveda too ! The Rosemary mint Line is the best of all products ! Pricy but worth it ❤
Thanks for the recent tip, lathering the shampoo in Hands before applying, tried it last few shampoos and it really makes a difference.
Abbey you seem like you might have some good book recommendations! How about a video about your favorites?
Girl you read my mind! I was literally rewatching some of your old empties videos last night to help prepare my cart for the sale😂 So this couldn’t have came at a better time!
Empties are some of my favorite videos thank you for continuing to do them! Yes to the lash primer showdown please!
I hate it when people only focus on viral products and move on.. I like it when someone tests it for a very like time and really gives a full honest reviews of the pros and cons.
I found State of Kait a few months ago. Love her. Enjoying her content a lot plus she has EDS & I do too.
You have to try the etude house dr. mascara fixer! (They call it a fixer but it’s a primer) The blue version (super long lash) has little black fibers for lengthening 😊
Please review garnier fructis hair filler line, specifically the strength repair shampoo and conditioner and the inner fibre repair treatment
I wonder what you think of the mixsoon bean essence? Everyone has been talking about it!
abbey, I would love for u to do a video talking about the ITK skincare line. It’s created by Brooklyn and Bailey, and I’ve always wondered if it’s any good.
The colour of this sweater suits you soo well! 😊
Hi beautiful, would you recommend better a hair brush like tangle teezer or a bamboo brush, tysm and I love ur content btw ❤
Love empties videos and your recommendations. Also State of Kati is a great channel!
I love your hair straight and the color is so beautiful.
Could you make a video of what your skin care routine would be using pregnancy/breastfeeding safe ingredients and products?!?
Adding so many things to my Sephora sale shopping list! Also the coral color on your looks soo nice! Do you mind me asking where you found your sweatshirt?
Abbey, your eyeshadow looks beautiful- are you able to share what eyeshadow you are wearing?
Thank you! Yes I am interested in lash primer video. Specifically would be glad if you included Maybelline and L’Oréal lash primers. 🙏
Please try the viral japanese haircare products, I'd like to hear your thoughts about it 😊
Yes a lash primer showdown would be great
I've been considering the Dior lash primer. I'm currently trying the Jane Iredale PureLash. It's pretty good. My two favorites are Lancome and L'oreal Voluminous.
I would love to see a showdown!
Try the Tocobo Vita Glazed Lip Mask!! I saw James Welsh recommend it and it’s that only product that’s been able to get rid of my chapped lips!
loved this video Abbey! i’m wondering if you’ve made a video on Virtue Labs hair care?? ❤️
Hi abbey I love your content! would you consider making an update bb cream/tinted spf/ tinted moisturizer video for the warmer months?
Would love the lash primer video and the make up u have on is stunning! Could u link or do a video?
My mom had a fluffy cleanser when I was a kid. I’d buy it for the texture alone if it were still available. So I absolutely understand what you mean about the Haruharu. Maybe I’ll love it.
Lancôme is hands down my favorite. I won’t even bother buying another one…unless you come up with a miracle suggestion! Thank you. TR
Recommendations for silk/satin bonnets? ❤
Have you ever tried Living proof shampoos?
Abbey which is better L’Oréal bond repair or L’Oréal clarifying shampoo?
❤❤ Love you!
i love your videos so much, people don't give you enough credit for how fun your are too! the lady gaga cut had my lol at work 😂
i started using the ordinary cooper peptide because of you! i'm doing it slow bcause i just cleared all my acne from my face. hopefully it works for me too
I completely agree with you on balanced lip products.
Chanel lash primer and the Dior one are amazing!!
I would love for you to review the new L’Oréal Elvive Hyaluron + Pure line! I have high hopes for it as someone with an oily scalp 🤞
I really like the covergirl lash primer. I find it coats my lashes better than the Lancôme and loreal lash primers.
Just got the April skin cleansing balm.. in love! Amazing texture
Omg...so envious you have the Tree Hut sweet cream body butter 😭
I didn't even get one when they were in stores. I decided I wanted it but when I went back to get it they were sold out. It smelled SO good.
Curious how you use copper peptide with other products in your routine, I think thats a great video idea! I struggle getting it to work in a weekly routine with tret the day before or day after. I don't know which to prioritize.
It’s in her PM skin care routine: th-cam.com/video/_k2MT4QO_P0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JpxiY9DHknfSbgMG
Will you please compare the Dior lash primer to the Lancome one? Thank you! ☺️
15:45 can you try IGK EXTRA LOVE Volume & Thickening Shampoo?
You look so nice in this red color!! ❤
Love the Lancôme last primer. I got a free sample a few years back and have been purchasing it ever since.
State of Kait makes such fabulous videos! I've thought for a little while that you two are similar in your methodology.
I love State of Kait as well
That's probably why I'm so drawn to her content 😂💗
@@gwendolinehall1386 Hi Gwendoline. I had to block you ages ago for sending me wildly inappropriate messages on Instagram. Please stop making up rumors about me on TH-cam and Reddit. It is extremely hurtful.
FYI the reformulated the aestura cream so stock up ! Kelly Driscoll did a review and comparison and it seems is not as good
I also love State of Kait!! ❤ Great video as always Abbey
10:17 I'm so happy to see that you cut you bottles in half too to get every last drop of product 😄
I would love to see a video comparing mascara primers, especially drugstore.
Geek and georgous are underrated because I don't see much people talk about them 🤔 I do really love their products ❤
You should try Billie body wash. I think you’d like the cedar wood vanilla scent a lot.
I’m wondering if you could do a review over the Garnier Honey Treasures line! It smells amazing but I don’t know if it really does anything for my hair so I wonder what you think about it! I use the serum :)
I love these kinds of videos ❤… 3 questions: how often do you use Epres and how often do you use K18 and do use them both together on the same wash day?
Abbey! Ever since Ive been watching your videos and following your advice, my hair has been so healthy and amazing. Can't thank you enough 🙏🙏🙏
I have a question - wondering how to best care for my hair at the beach (River water- no salt water). Should I be applying oil before I go for swim? Thanks ❤
Nevermind! I just found your summer advice video! 💞
