This was originally recorded for the Sleeping with Ghosts album along with a load of other tracks that were never released even to this day, but it was only ever officially on the Meds bonus DVD. To me in terms of sound, especially in the chorus, it sounds a lot like the Black Market Music era.
This was written way after Black Market songs, and I don't agree. It has the sounds of those songs expressed during the Sleeping with Ghosts period and later translated into Meds. Leni, English Summer Rain, Space Monkey, and this song all belong to a collective period.
I'm pretty sure there was an other version of this song I've downloaded before there release it on MEDs DVD, more nervous, with a beat on the guitar when Brian says "well" and less strings on "multiply". But I lost the file and can't find it anywhere. Maybe it was a 2003 live ? Can't remember. Edit : this one ! th-cam.com/video/U-Mq_JXg2RU/w-d-xo.html Much better than the studio version.
It's an Amazing Song...24 years about listening placebo since 1996.. it's been sad for me to listen the album 1973...i wonder, if you don't know that they are placebo songs couldn't be recognize at all.... don't deny, it's absolutely not them mark, them sound, them style..that album seems played by all another band and sounds like old and jazzy.. If i heard for the 1st time a Song Reading lyrics i know exactly how to sing it , it's automatic to me..i know his way to sing ,the time, the tone and if i sing it togheter to to him comes perfect...1973 It was very disappointed to me coz i couldn't even listen an entire song coz i stopped all After 1 minute. I know the style about Brian very deeply and for me 1973 it's a sharpest knife who turns in my Heart..1st album that i'll never buy....
@@geecoffee3324 Are you trolling? You know that "Placebo-1973" is an album by a belgian jazz band and that Brian Molko was only 1 year old when this jazz album was released, right? It's not the same band.

Once again they come off with great b-sides, too bad it's real short, but still it sounds great.

It wasn t forest on this but S Hewitt, by far better drummer :)
