Thank you! It's August, so people are on holiday and there aren't as many players around, plus in this game we didn't encounter each other until towards the end of the game, but you can only shoot down what comes within range, can't you? I did that with this plane's excellent weaponry.
Excellent content! I set up for manoueverability, (marksman 1 and 2, plus firefighter first) sit on an airfield with repair capabilities for that awful hp pool and watch the kills rack up! 🤣
Damn mate, I've always wondered whether i should also go down the KI line, as I already love my Zeros, and ingame I did tend to find enemy KIs to be rather bothersome when flown by decent players, but your review does cement my decision to get into some KI action, myself. Always loved their look, especially the -84, it reminds me of an agile P-47 haha.
If the P-47s had that manoeuvrability they'd be monstrous! I'd say the Ki-84 is the sweet spot of the line, but the following aircraft are good ones as well. The only problem with them is that, by tier 8 and above, turn fighters are often just niche aircraft in battles. There's still a lot of fun to be had, but you'll rarely carry a battle in them.

I love the P-47D, even if I'm usually a turnfighter (that'll just be the noun describing a turn fighter player, the distinction being that it's one word, haha) It's just a rather powerful plane, whose upgraded guns impressed me quite a bit when I first used them, it'll just saw through most of your enemies, and can even deal with AI bombers (thanks to the altitude stats it has, it's fairly viable to hunt those when nobody else does). I don't often play tier 8+, as I just enjoy the planes in lower tiers more, and as I did state above, I'm mainly a turnfighter, so that suits me well.
Hi Noble Q! Thanks for the video. Is the Ki-84 working well with the reinforced skin? I think you lose like 25 kph top speed, but you can bring back the cruise speed to the original level with the bonuses on the LWF and LPU. I might eventually test the plane with polished skin as well. The appealing factor of the reinfirced skin, is to increase durabilty, but I am not sure if you can really feel that. 🙂
My thought - and it is just a thought - is that fighters like this one are so fragile it's hard to see a significant benefit from reinforcing them, especially when other attributes are compromised. However, I haven't tried the plane in this configuration, so if you do, let us know what you think!
@@TheNobleQ I have a 7 point pilot with ABE+MM1+MM2. Once I specialize the plane and can mount ultimate sight with bonuses, I will respec the pilot to ADE+ABE+resilience.
I wanted to like the FW line but if your up against a skilled fighter pilot your just fighter fodder! Takes some real map awareness yo fly them well. Ki84 is a monster in the right hands!
It's a playing style from which I've moved away in the last year. It was my stock in trade for a long time, but no longer. Still, every now and then I like to dust off the turn fighting skills. :)
Why does your video in combat show that you are hitting targets without leading them? You are often trailing the target or "way off" and still hitting them. I find that I have to lead my targets in cross flight maneuvers.
I had to go check that! Just after 20:40 in the video I explain that you're about to watch a World Of Warplanes replay file, not a recording I had made. I don't know why, but the game's replays have been altered to make them "smoother" on the eye and one effect of that is that the reticle lags behind the shells you fire. Like you, I have to aim properly too! In 2022 I was moving from using the game's replay files to using my own recordings. You'll see, if you watch my later productions, that the reticle is properly placed in those. Thanks for watching and asking the question.
@@TheNobleQ Thanks! I discovered the KI-84 recently and after playing many other aircraft, I love it. It hits like an attack aircraft, but flies with more agility than most fighters. Especially great when you add upgrades in Specialist mode. But you do have to lead those 30's more than the 20's. Love getting up to 8000 ft ( which is about the ceiling) and blasting high flying attack aircraft or bombers.

Just in time.. Been grinding the hayate. I chose the japanese fighter as first tier 8. The gameplay is awesome
Good luck with your grind. I think the Ki-84 is one of the planes in the game with which you will not be disappointed.

I too loved the zeros, but at tier 6, the ki line is more verstile

You're exactly right about the Fw 190 line. It does take map awareness. They're harder planes to fly well than the Ki-84, for sure.
