I'm not a fan of bombers, so I'm not strongly inclined to agree. However, both lines would be interesting. Alas, there's little chance of either.

I’d be ok with about any new maps or tech lines really. It seems the game developers have no desire to improve or add to the game other than to add premium aircraft.

@@M29WeaselDriver It's a rump team intended merely to keep the game going and turning over a little revenue. Instructions right from the top of Wargaming mean there's no development beyond a new reward plane every two months or so.

I think this could be a paradoxical plane. The revisions by the World Of Warplanes team will make it an even stronger bomber, but they don't appear to have done much with respect to the defensive armament. Some may find that inability to defend itself frustrating, no matter how well it bombs. A full technical review will follow soon.

I think that's an underestimate of the plane. That said, not being fond of bombers, I'm not that enthusiastic myself!

If you were to visit the official World Of Warplanes' Discord, you'd see a fair amount of complaining. Bombers are mostly fine up to tier 7 in the game, so they won't bother the majority of players. At tier 8 and through tiers 9 and 10 there is a set of pestilential overpowered bombers - not all of them, but that doesn't matter since the overpowered ones are spammed relentlessly (at least on the EU server) - and this set of bombers completely changes the character of the game, wrecking its balance. I hadn't thought of bailing out of an XB-42. It's not something I want to try!

True. You're not wrong, the B-29C is immensely strong.

Thank you for your support! I think this plane is relatively strong, but with a glaring weakness; the defensive armament. As for overpowered planes, I'm afraid a big part of the model for funding WoWp is to sell certificates for new planes and, if people are going to do that, they have to be confident they're buying something that's relatively good. That's the price we pay for the game still existing.

You will be able to pick up a few nice things from the candy trail, at least.

I think too many premiums are American, if that's what you mean.

I think the greater threat is the P-61, which will have this as a tasty snack. The B-29C can be outplayed because it's much slower.

Well, by way of karma, I watched the video on a mobile device yesterday and was treated to a number of War Thunder advertisements! It's true to say this is a niche game though.

I like having this game as an additional account option, as a WoT player, but the biggest problem I have with it, is the way it's optimisation has not been maintained for the current W11 configurations. There's a massive conflict with Game Bar, which is crippling the game start-up, at least for me, on the latest W11 updates.

@@Roll_the_Bones World Of Warplanes is running on the engine Tanks dropped several years ago and, unfortunately, I can't see that changing. I doubt there will be efforts to integrate it with the Game Bar either. That doesn't affect me, since I switch it off, but will others such as yourself.

There are lots that are worse. However, will it be fun to fly? Speaking for myself, not much liking bombers anyway, I think it will be of limited appeal. Those who love their RB-17s may find it a refreshing change.

I wonder if that's why it's been put in World Of Warplanes. I wouldn't be surprised if it appears in War Thunder in 2025.

I'm glad you like it. It was a rather "last minute" decision to do an overview instead of the full review into which I'd already put a lot of work.

Discounts on premium planes usually occur at weekends, but only a few times a year. There may be discounts for Christmas if you're lucky! Bear in mind fighters, particularly on the EU server, are usually not going to carry a battle. That said, the most powerful fighters that can be built to be agile - but not as agile as the Yak-30 - are the Me P.1101, which you've mentioned, and the MiG-15bis. The F-86A Sabre has a brilliant airframe and, in my opinion, is the best fighter of all at tier 10, notwithstanding its machine gun armament, but it copes much less well with, for instance, ground attack planes and bombers. The former two, with care, can. However, if you just want to dogfight, the most agile planes are the Yak-30 and the Ki-162-III. The Sabre can use its speed against those and its manoeuvrability against all other fighters, so you may want to consider it too. The Swift should really be in the same bracket as the Me P.1101 and the MiG-15bis. Specialised, it's a beauty, but many find it difficult - I did - when flown stock. The La-15 is another capable turn fighter with a bit more versatility than the Yak-30 and the Ki-162-III. Finally, if manoeuvrability is your criterion, avoid the Fw 252, which is more like a pseudo-heavy fighter. I hope that helps!

Have you a source for that? I'm not aware of such an announcement and do not believe the MM has changed.

I do go on to say I'd much rather have the extra equipment slot. I think the SM.91 is a strong plane, despite ordinary statistics (that we can see), because of that extra slot. It's also much more fun to fly than I expected, even with the rear gunner being next to useless. If you choose wisely on the forward-firing weapon slots it can even reliably outgun, owing to much better weapons range, a Bf 109 K-6 in a head on approach. The major problem with the plane is that it's a tier 7 in a tier 8 world. To compare the P-82B to the SM.91 is to compare apples and oranges. You're right, but the former is a true tier 8 plane, so the comparison is stacked against the latter. The SM.91 is perhaps a tier 7½ plane. Changing the plane's nation and putting in a Clark or a Vogel, for instance, is a good idea. Call it a tic of mine that I preferred to keep it Italian for the video.

I've managed to keep playing, though it can be awkward sometimes. Thank you for your kind wishes. I've come to regard the Me 210 in a better light now I focus on using the excellent bombs. This is an example of a good, old-fashioned, balanced premium.

It's in my mind to remove the bombs. Had the original 3 minute reload been retained, especially as mounting the bombs now carries a penalty when originally it didn't, I'd have no hesitation in doing so. You won't want to approach a full health K-6 with no boost but, equally, the K-6 will not want to be caught unawares by a SM.91. As ever with heavies, you need to think about what you're going to attack and, sometimes, you'll turn down an engagement.

Once you start, probably you won't stop!

1) It is easy to miss messages in the midst of a battle. 2) I have game chat turned off anyway. 3) You saw a slight where none existed. 4) You decided that, because I did not acknowledge you, I should be punished. 5) Your "payback", headhunting another player with no thought for what you needed to do to win the battle, thus compromising your teammates' games, was an act of stupidity. Granted, this is only a video game and it isn't a crucial matter, but somebody who declares their aim is to "ruin" another's game is revealing themselves as a petty fool. 6) You assume I "rage quit" the server because of your actions. You caused no such thing. Your behaviour doesn't affect me, except to make me hold you in contempt. 7) Your offer to apologise would have been accepted, nonetheless, except you combine it with a threat. I pay no attention to bullies. You took offence because, in your view, I was too grand to acknowledge you. The simple fact is, I never saw your message because I see no in-game messages. You then decided I should be taught a lesson, behaved stupidly and selfishly in game, and now you write to me in the most absurd of fashions, discrediting yourself as a silly little boy, whilst offering an apology at the point of a gun. I would suggest you go away and think about your childishness and then, if you decide you will not be a child but instead a mature person, come back and offer a real apology, not one shot about with the various implications that the juvenile way you behaved was somehow my fault. On the positive side, I am grateful for everybody who has taken the time to say that they have found my content useful and perhaps helpful. Those "budgies" were a flock of starlings resident in my garden. Unfortunately, they've moved to new roosting spots these days, since a pair of sparrowhawks realised they were a plentiful food supply, and the garden is a bit less cheerful, though they still come to the bird feeders. That ability to change the nation of the "Europe/International" aircraft is a significant advantage. They are excellent crew trainers because of that versatility.

Ooh, I don't think that was me and if I did say it, I didn't mean to say it. Your thrust control is much better with a joystick, that much is true. It's difficult to set partial thrust with a keyboard. Whether or not that's advantageous when boosting, I'm not sure. Does it conserve boost? Perhaps a joystick player might comment.

@@TheNobleQ I meant the 9:35. Well for me, I still have no idea which is better, I guess it depends on a plane very much.

@@TheNobleQ And about conserving boost, I'm sure partial boosting doesn't conserver it. I'd even say there is no difference between 90% boost and 50% or 30% boost, at least I don't feel any difference. Even with partial boost I feel only the 3 states: 0%, 1%-99% and 100%

That's a personal variant of the 'Who's The AI Bots?' mod, the difference being I remove the names entirely, whereas the standard mod merely prefixes them with an asterisk.

@@TheNobleQ Thanks, I know this mod and I also realized that the .MO files of pilots names need to be modified. Could you please share these modified files with me? What editor did you use for the .MO files?

@@digitace2003 You can't edit the .MO files directly. You have to convert them to .PO files first. A utility like POEDIT can do that for you. You can edit a .PO file in POEDIT, but I don't think you can add a translation. However, that's easy to do if you open a .PO file in Windows Notepad, for example. Just be careful that you know what you need to add and not to remove or change anything already in the file. Once your .PO file has been changed, you can export it to .MO format and replace the original .MO file with your new one. It's all a bit fiddly, so bear with me whilst I go through the process for myself making sure I've got the right text in all areas of the UI.

How about shorter videos on a single topic, like once your plane is spotted, how long does it take before it goes dark on the Minimap, etc. That's a very important question.
