Dante either sacrifice mankind trying to not fight full power so his brother doesn't die, or he kills him so he doesn't unleash the power and basically take over the planet. He had to kill his twin(someone he grew up with and clearly loves) in order to save mankind. Sometimes I feel teary when I play it or watch it. This is a masterpiece of a story for its time.

Dante wasn't just there for friendly sibling fighting, although that's what it ultimately became. He was there for the same reason he was in 3, to stop Vergil from dicking around with demon portals and power.
Well technically I think there are two reasons in Dmc Vergil wanted to rule the world to stop people from destroying themselves and also in the Dmc he gets manipulated and now have the mindset that Dante is always better than him and mother loves him more

Actually they both wanted to prove other one’s reason to fight is wrong. Due to how they grown up.
Vergil was captured and thrown in to demon world, that makes him think that if you want to protect yourself or someone, you need power more than anything.
Dante thinks the emotion that wanted to protect ppl makes them stronger, same as their father Sparda, the willing to protect human world, the family and who they love.
They fight for swords yes, but reason is not sword.
Dante is trying to stop Vergil keep on going into wrong path so he stop Vergil to get the Force Edge.
Dante wanted to take Vergil’s Yamato is not because he want it but because Vergil has already cause so many trouble.
Those are just my opinion.

Well, this was an excellent ending for both of them, Dante might not have pizzas, and a job anymore, but he's in his element. And he got Vergil back, his only real family member. Dante accepted his demon heritage, Vergil accepted his hunman heritage and Nero got to learn he had a family. Perfect ending for the Son's of Sparda. Plus, Dante and Vergil are almost literal demon God's now.

I remember getting destroyed by Vergil so many times in DMC 3. Now it’s just pure nostalgia
DMC3 is simpler but definitely also the more challenging battle. Vergil is so much more aggressive and has so much armor compared to dmc5. The few moves he does just keep you busy

mundus beat his ass, broke yamato, the order of the sword found most of the fragments, balrog found one small piece of it
Mundus had Yamato and or the pieces of it. That's how he used the summon swords against Dante. I suppose the order just used the hellgate to retrieve the sword from a weakened Mundus.

It's a half demon human twin brother's thing.. with a sword. Well, you coulda guessed it. No parents all their lives, one is straight loneliness living in shit hell and back. But Dante get to make friends tho. He's sensitive and definitely knows how to break the ice with Vergil. That is why Dante is somewhat stronger of the 'want to protect' like their pops. Vergil didn't know how it felt like, so he strives to get power out of the reason that he couldn't protect. Both will never kill each other. Coz they had nobody else to turn to. Look back at DMC3 why would one go thru all the trouble meet the other on the top of the tower. Brotherhood lmao

Dmc3 fight was 100 times more epic than dmc5. You don't need better graphics to be a better game. I think DMC3 is still the best.

I agree 100% DMC3 was and still is a masterpiece. The vergil fight in 5 was too slow and he moved like reboot Vergil. Sure they took some stuff from 3 but vergil just felt like I was playing the reboots final fight. Even without turbo mode in 3 Vergils attacks were fast and unforgiving. I've played them all including the reboot and 5 feels like I'm fighting reboot Vergil all over again.

I don't know if DMC4 vergil was OP, but i remember all his combos and have to say that it is by far the best Vergil playable out there and yes.... in the correct hands, it is way better than Dante at fighting, in DMC5 he's slow again and have really long animations, so in the next DLC with Vergil playable i think he'll be pretty slow in comparison to DMC4, he'll be more like DMC3 play style, for what i play as Vergil in DMC5 with CE hack, the animatons are really long but the combos are there! we'll see some really good fights in a month :)

I prefer DMC 3's fight because it had a far more emotional weight to it. It also felt like both are on equal terms of power when you're fighting Vergil. In 5, you get your ass kicked too much, but it's still very enjoyable

In terms of each game's Dante and Vergil fights:
DMC 3 > DMC 5 > DMC 1 > DmC
Agreed still love DMC3. Vergil doesn't heal while in devil trigger in DMC5. To me that's a big deal that and he's slower and easier. My opinion.

i just finished playing dmc 1, 3, 4 and 5 in a row and seeing the improvement in Vergils attack animations over time is incredibly interesting
DmC didn't do Vergil any justice. Sure, the final fight seems to be epic, but he did nothing during the game that would make you think he'd be a credible threat. What with him constantly hiding and letting his little brother do all the work. Now DMC5 finally gives us back the Vergil we all fell in love with in DMC3.
He literally does nothing the moment he comes back though.
He goes to the top floor and sits in a chair until Dante comes to him.
@@HappyPotat But that's not what his thing was about. His goal as V was to get back to Urizen and be reborn with extra power, and he accomplished that goal. His secondary goal would be to take Dante down, likely to prevent further interference in future plans. He'd been playing them all since day 1, which is infinitely better than whatever DmC Vergil did.

This one is no exception, just because Urizen and V are part of him doesn't change the fact that once he was reborn he literally just sat down and waited.

DMC 5 Vergil played an active role through the whole story to get what he wanted, and once he achieved that goal, he moved onto a secondary course of action. Besides, he was only resurrected in one of the last couple of chapters. What else did you want him to do? What else COULD he do in two, maybe three chapters?

Thanks for actually putting the DmC footage into this. It's not a totally bad and unplayable game, just different devs kind of screwed off the origins of the Devil May Cry we know. Plus if we don't have the DmC, Vergil in DMC5 wouldn't have that (really) sick doppelganger move in the boss fight.
And yes, this means I'm defending DmC Devil May Cry. Come at me internet
No real problem with that personally. I thought the game was... average, at best. Combat was incredibly easy, the game just gave you S-ranks without even trying... but you could still pull cool shit off, not gonna lie. Easily exploitable and incredibly simple though. Story was... let's say "controversial" and leave it at that. Game looks okay in terms of graphics and the whole concept of Limbo is actually pretty cool. It's got it's good points, but also plenty of bad to go around.
The combat is Devil may cry for sure. The story is not. Donte didn't deserve calling himself Dante because he's everything Dante isn't. Though I'm sure Vergil would have Doppelganger regardless since Dante has Summoned swords now. They steal each other's moves all the time

In fact, in all games we have fought Vergil so many times. 3 times in original DMC against Nelo Angelo. 3 times in DMC3. Twice in DmC: in main game and in DLC also. 4 times in DMC5 against Urizen and also twice against Vergil himself. 14 times. 14. Just think about this number. Butnif we won't count Urizen and Nrlo Angelo we'll have 7. And its still very good number for one boss.

Not only is it better executed and it's not just his DT but a separate ability, but it makes sense for him to have doppleganger in 5 since as Urizen he was using a lot of abilities of DMC3 enemies.

While graphically and mechanically DMC5 is better, DMC3's atmostphere, coreography and storytelling is still incredibly epic.

For Graphics: DMC5 and DmC are equal and are better than DMC3, DMC1, DMC2,
DMC4 graphics were good but I don't like the anime style design.
For Gameplay: DMC3 still has the best combat in the series, same goes to DMC4, DMC5 combat is great, DmC's combat was good, DMC1 was ahead of its time but combat is good, DMC2 is still garbage.
Overall: 5: DmC: Devil may Cry (I rather play the reboot more than that shitty DMC2 trash)

And Vergil's attack speed in 5 is much slower. And not as fun as it was in DMC3. Vergils fight in 5 feels like the reboot.
