- Vespera is a hybrid electro-acoustic synthesizer crafted to explore physical vibratory re-synthesis. This instrument utilizes heavily distorted tube modular synth oscillations meticulously re-amped and resonated through various physical objects.

I really like this instrument and as you say , it is “Challenging”, I would say it’s inviting, an invitation to go a little bit left field. A few weeks ago I had heard so many ostinatos and string legatos that I looked through my libraries from something different….there in I discovered two libraries by Lea Bertucci which were still “in wrapping paper”. They blew my mind and so does vespers, in-fact almost certainly these libraries will work hand in glove….what a find. 👍🙏🏿🙏🎶🎶🎶🎶
Glad you like it, defiantly something different. What are the two libraries by Lea Bertucci might have to check them out. Stayed tuned will be doing a give away soon with Vespera being apart of it!
@@Joe-blogcomposer The libraries are Acoustic Shadows and Extended Vox both published by Spitfire audio…it’s so funny I nearly repurchased the Vox library on a quest for some new inspiration ..I was lucky I found out I had it already . I think it’s vital even for hobbyist, like myself, to step out of the circle occasionally for all sorts of reasons.👍🎶🫡
I wish Mntra would make it possible to combine sounds from their different libraries in one patch; I own pretty much all of them. I agree this particular library does sound a bit samey. The patches I am hearing are heavy on the mid-range and upper frequencies, I think often due to distortion from the Erica Synths tube-based modules. I think some lower frequency content would bolster the sound. Also, I know the Fusion system modules are entirely capable of making sweeter sounds; the sound doesn't have to be even slightly distorted. Maybe I am just not hearing that in the demo patches on YT.
Thanks for your valuable feedback, @thomashoffend4299! Combining sounds from different libraries has always been on our radar. However, during the early days of development, we realized that integrating this feature would have significantly complicated the completion of MNDALA, so we had to make a tough choice. Rest assured, we're actively working on an update to make this possible in the future.
While Vespera is designed to offer a rich variety of sound sources capable of producing complete compositions (as you can hear in our other demos, which exclusively use Vespera), we understand that many presets might lean towards a distinct aesthetic with more distortion and grit. Our aim was to fully explore as much variety as possible within this aesthetic. Vespera is just the beginning of a series that is the result of an ongoing living sound design experiment. We are already working on a new instrument that will explore a completely different aesthetic, and utilizing more extensive acoustic re-synthesis techniques.
Awesome review Joe! This is such a different sounding instrument and I agree with @desoconnor7445 that its a great invitation to go more 'left field', I could see this working extremely well in Epic trailers and in soundtracks for dark films or series.
