Threat assessment was strange game two. Tyler has the win on board, but silence was cast the turn before... Force of Will was cast on desperate ritual...just a bit confusing to me.
It kind of makes sense? I imagine he let Godo resolve because he saw he didn’t have enough life to make 5 red through treasonous ogre. Countering Godo wouldn’t been better, but I don’t think he was expecting a desperate ritual. Overall it’s still poor treat assessment
Why does Alex's Pako and Haldan list run Training Grounds? Or was that meant to be Training Centre? Some very average opening hands were kept with some really good top decks
Yep! The issue is that Saw in Half doesn't give haste, so you need a way to get around that if you want to win that turn. (The 1/1 token Dualcasters don't go away, though.) But if you can take advantage of another spell on the stack to do so, it works!
Never expected Mardu Mill from... Kaalia. Right. Completely forgot that was Everett's commander xD That plus the bizarre game two made for a great video. Also! *I need that Ice King playmat that Tyler used*! It's so good!
To conserve mana for a lack of better words. While it could’ve been a good play, it’s still not optimal. Being able to cast opposition agent before his turn is better than playing a land and passing to then get someone with it. He essentially did it so he could also cast stuff on his turn
Everett could have had 2! Underworld Beaches on the battlefield at once. In EDH That’s hilarious. Also, what a weird and cool win. I never thought about how powerful March of X cycle would be with a big grip and Breach. One pip and toss a few cards to target boardwipe. That combo was also inspired. Was the something he came up with on the spot, or was that one of the deck’s primary goals?
maybe yeah, i feel like letting him pay as much life as he needed was a smart move incase they drew anything to burn him out of being able to do anything
I could not imagine running a card like adnaus in a deck whose commander specifically requests that you run creatures that are three out of the six highest mana value tribes in edh. (Giants praetors and eldrazi being the other two that come to mind, please let me know if there’s other tribes that are specifically and almost exclusively high mana costing creatures because i like that kind of bomb in a game.)
Most competitive lists I’ve seen only run 3-4 Demons. Kaalia is plan B and just acts like a massive ritual to get the combo pieces on board. Pretty low cc count for Ad Naus,
this might be a dumb question, but does the godo+helm of the host combo work against any boardstate? because as i see it, if every opponent has at least a 3/3 to block the equipped godo then it wont work?
you don't even need to attack with the original Godo, the helm triggers just going in combat step, eventually the blocking creatures are going to die from combat damage, you are making a new not legendary godo every time
If every opponent has an indestructible 3/3 then it won't work. Or if an opponent has a ghostly prison effect that will likely also stop the attacks. So in short, no, it won't work against every board state. However, just a regular 3/3 will not be enough, as the copies of godo will eventually get through.
You attack with the copy since it has haste. You get infinite copies, so the 3/3 would die. The deck also packs hammer of Nazhan and argentum armor. So if there is something like a ghostly prison, you can destroy it. Also, the copies don’t die at the end of turn. So even if they managed to survive, they would have to win before you got to your next turn.
How does cory have Eidolon of the great revel in Zur? that shouldn't be legal as its not in his color identity Edit I see it was listed in the wrong hand lol
As much as I loved seeing Everett's win with Kaalia in game 1, I really don't like when players use Commanders solely for their colors and not their actual abilities as cards.
The deck does use the commander, but this is cEDH where you are playing with a different mindset then casual where if you can win without the commander then do so
The deck does use kaalia sometimes. It cheats out razaketh, vilis and rune-scarred demon. If you just wanted the colors you would play tymna and either jeska or rograkh.
????????? Wtf was that second game? **SPOILERS** Why didn't Cory force Godo if that was the only answer at the table? **EDIT** I thought you could necro during other people's turns Why did Everett STOP Alex from digging for an answer to Godo? Entire table almost conspired to just let the faceup death on table resolve. If I didn't know better, I'd proclaim "paid actors".
Cory keeping a 4-card hand with 1 non-blue land + remora, TOPDECKING a blue source, and then having remora get misstepped is brutal lol
I cackled when it happened.
Ah yes... Mardu Mill.... a cEDH classic. That was an awesome Kaalia game.
The Kaalia win was impressive but Tyler coming in with the head scratch win was better LOL
Really strange looking Arcane Signet in Cory's opening hand
Cory accidentally put a red card in his deck and then argued it's his proxy for arcane signet
I was
Gonna say…
Loved seeing saw in half tech finally showing legs in these videos with Kaalia. It's one of my favorite innovations with dualcaster lines
I dont understand why Cory didn't Force Godo.
Because godo had 15 life. Would have killed himself adding 5 mana to equip.
Also presumably drawing the force of Will off the ritual cast right?
Why did Everett stop Alex from digging for answers to Godo? Was that really the right play?
No it wasn't. It was bad overall.
Horrible play
Everett 1st game : 200 IQ
Everett 2nd game: 2 IQ
That game 1 win was incredible, might be one of the most interesting and unique lines I've ever seen. How did I not know that's a thing?
That first game was awesome! Great to see a wincon that's not the usual
Haven’t watched yet but saw Kaalia and knew it was gonna be a great match!
All I can think of is plankton saying "I don't know. I didn't think I'd get this far"
Wow that game 1 finish was def cool to see! 😎

@@ThatOneGuy-fq5eo while i don't agree with it, i understand that one. How about that silence though?
@blakerobinson4198 the silence play was brain dead reaction IMO.
First Game wasnt even Magic , Everett was just rearranging cards 😂
Two kaalia games this close! Nice! I imagine the tourney had a little influence on this
Why does Alex's Pako and Haldan list run Training Grounds? Or was that meant to be Training Centre? Some very average opening hands were kept with some really good top decks
Me watching the DCM Saw in half "YOU CAN DO THAT????"
Yep! The issue is that Saw in Half doesn't give haste, so you need a way to get around that if you want to win that turn. (The 1/1 token Dualcasters don't go away, though.) But if you can take advantage of another spell on the stack to do so, it works!
That was awesome! Both games were wild

Also! *I need that Ice King playmat that Tyler used*! It's so good!
Eidolon of great revel my favorite enchantment to tutor for with zur the enchanter too bad it was in his opening hand though
That's some spicy Kaalia win! Is that decklist inspired by BadDog's B.A.D. Kaalia list? It is very similar.
Why Cory didnt cast dark ritual than opp agent when someone fetch in turn 1???
Was wondering that too...
To conserve mana for a lack of better words. While it could’ve been a good play, it’s still not optimal. Being able to cast opposition agent before his turn is better than playing a land and passing to then get someone with it. He essentially did it so he could also cast stuff on his turn
Everett be making Zeno's Dualcaster Mage up in here.
Always a thrill to see my Dockside Dollars on the channel! Love the content as always! Keep it up homies.
can someone please explain to me how Kaalia is cEDH? isnt the deck tech just Tymna/Jeska?
why does this deck play kaalia instead of a different mardu commander?
Because it can cheat game ending creatures onto the battlefield.
Why not oppo to the fetch in response ?
Wt heck was the dockside animation....
Let's goo Everett!! Sick W
Everett could have had 2! Underworld Beaches on the battlefield at once.
In EDH

How is eidolon legal in a zur deck?
game 2 was so weird
On game 2, they should’ve necro’d for a lot more since they godo had game on board.
Duel caster is such a dank card. I would love seeing it used in new ways.
Im not a CEDH player...but can someone explain to me why silence at that precise moment? I mean... seem sus....
That first game was amazing!🎉

@@PlayingWithPowerMTG to get around the ghostly prison the Godo player would have to count to 15 instead of 11 though :)
why didn't Cory play opposition Agent when Alex cracked his fetch?
Why dont play opagent in respond to fetchland crack??? am i missing something obvious?
Pretty sure he played it just to take a game action instead of wasting the cards in his hand …? But I think he could’ve held onto it for longer yea
Good use for praetor's! XD
great games :)
WTF U can do that with saw in half that's cool
Yay opening hands!
2nd game has just KEKW final
You guys need more removal, lol.
Ggs!
Wrong Eidolon in Zur's opening hand? 😆
🤭
We love kaalia
i just won a game like Everret the first game, at tournament and there was no other way to win it then like that :dd pretty funny way to win
Ok let's go!!!! ❤❤❤
I love pako!!!!!
Lmao that godo win...
LIke oh hey uh guys?? imma win here that cool? dope dope dope cool cool cool.
Guess I'll just attack then? -Godo probably
The worst opposition agent
How does cory have Eidolon of the great revel in Zur? that shouldn't be legal as its not in his color identity Edit I see it was listed in the wrong hand lol
Kaalia emulating Gitrog...
Quality on the cameras super bad on this one :(
is there a point to running a kaalia deck if you arent going to win with cheating big demons and dragons out?
It does do that. They just didn’t this game.
Tyler: It's free real estate.
As much as I loved seeing Everett's win with Kaalia in game 1, I really don't like when players use Commanders solely for their colors and not their actual abilities as cards.

Well, if he cheated out a Razaketh on turn 3, I'm sure the game would be very similar. And in the intro they said the deck can do that
The deck does use kaalia sometimes. It cheats out razaketh, vilis and rune-scarred demon. If you just wanted the colors you would play tymna and either jeska or rograkh.
bruh what is the zur doing

Necro only adds cards to your hand at the end of your turn.
@@captshetz My bad! Thank you :)
Why even bother with Kaalia as a commander? Is he challenging himself to win without ever using casting his commander?
this is why we banned unfinity cards in our group.
